  1. As far as inframe vs. out of frame drag pipes, I understand that there is a 2 or so hp difference, but is it really noticeable at the track? Also, do they make heavy duty crank, tranny, and rod bearings; and if so, where is a good place to order? I have done several top end rebuilds, two and four stroke, but have never actually split the cases and got into the tranny. How difficult will it be for me to put a duneable override in? Who is a good builder that I can deal with as far as pistons, gaskets, ect. Someone with good customer suport. Thanxx in advance
  2. As title states. I need somme bb drag pipes. Shearer oof preferred, but let me know what you got. Also I need a 1-5 or 2-5 duneable override tranny Filters for 39mm pwk's Cover for lockout clutch Thanxx
  3. Is there a certain diameter or depth that sets the big/ small flange pipes apert.. And all Cheetah PV motors are big flanged, right???
  4. The CPI's are raw, with silencers for $375 shipped. Seems like a good deal...
  5. Hello. I was wondering if it is possible to weld big flanges onto a big bore drag pipe with small flanges?? Would it affect the power in a negative way? I found a good deal on some CPI BB's w/ small flanges, and I could graft the big flanges from my Trinity's...Thanks..
  6. Trinity racing built my motor three years ago and these are the pipes they use for the Cheetahs, so basically yes, they were built by Trinity for the stroker engine.
  7. Yeah I was also considering boring them, 1.5 to 2 millimeter increase may not do much tho...I noticed the bike had huge midrange but did not pull out very far on top...figured it may have been the Trinity Stage IV's, dunno...Anyone else???
  8. Howdy. I have some Trinity Stage IV pipes for motors with big flange. They came off my 521 Cheetah motor. They have a couple of small dents ( not visible once installed). They give a very broad, smooth powerband. Pull from top to bottom. I am asking $275, and am located in Lake Charles, LA.
  9. OK, here's my setup. 521 Cheetah engine. Sending to RDZ for complete tear down, cut tranny, porting, new RDZ big bore pipes. I currently have 34mm Keihin's. My question is; how much will I benifit from changing to 38, 39, or larger carbs...I asked the guy at RDZ, and he said there was power to gain from going bigger on carbs, and changing to drag pipes....Never really stated any numbers or anything like that..So does anyone have experience with different carbs on a big motor..Please post your experience. I don't really want to spend money on carbs, filters, intakes if it'll only net 2 or 3 horsepower. Thanxx, Marcus
  10. Hi my banshee bas a stock swinger extended 8 inches and marvin shaw rear. I find it sits too high. Is there a simple way to lower the rear end?

  14. Hello. I recently took ma bansh to the dunes, and ran the bastard out of gas. After I started it back, It ran like crap. Couldn'e even get it to take off. So I took it apart and found out there was a score mark from the exhaust boost port to the top where the ring rides. It's not really a sharp-edged scratch, but more like a 1/32" "valley". Not yery deep at all, but can feel it with finger. They are cheetah cylinders, and would need to be re-nik-a-sil'd. I really don't feel like doing that right now, will I screw something up further if I run it as is, or can I use it for a couple months when I do my planned major overhaul....And no I didn't check the compression.....Like a dumbass. Thanks in advance for any imput...Marcus
  15. Well, I took the banshee out to the dunes last weekend, and ren the damn thing out of fuel. So I tore it down to do a top end. While I had it apart, I noticed it has no portwork done. Man it is super powerful as is, so I can imagine what porting would do. Does anyone know of a someone that does porting on the cheetas? Prices? Also, when I ran it dry, and I started it back up it had no power at all. I could not even take off in the sand. I've been told that the rings are fried, but I never did a compression test before I tore it down. The cylinder has minor scoring from the top of the exhaust port up, that you can barely feel with your finger. Do I need to bore and re nickasil? Also do I need to check anything else while its down? Thanks for the imput. Marcus

Thanxx y'all. I took it out for a ride today for the first time ( paddles on had to ride in grass) and i noticed it is tuned for midrange. Does not pull out as far on top as my ported 350 with pro circuits. The powerband is like a four stroke turbo, but just does not have a real high rev out. Even if i am parked in neutral and mash the gas, itwill not rev real high. Maybe its the long stroke? Trinity IV's? Porting? Dunno. Doesn't seem like the ideal setup for drag racing, but would be SO much fun in some wide open dunes like killpecker..

Yeah I picked it up this morning 10mm stroker/ I think 72.5mm bore...521 kit, seen all the receipts. It does not have an override tranny, but does have a 9 plate clutch setup...the guy says they work better than a lockup for recreational riding. It is definately a sleeper...J arm front end.. arent they lighter than A-arms? This dude is definately all go little show..I think I kind of like it like that tho. What kind of gains will I see by converting to methanol and can you ride all day as normal on alky?

So what gains do you think I can get out of 40mm carbs, reeds, and bb pipes? Do I have to use an override transmission? Not concerned about money.

Hello. Tomorrow I am purchasing an 89 banshee with a 520 cheetah powervalve motor. It is not set up for drag racing, just general duning, but the primary goal for the buying the bike is to build a dragger. It currently has the following mods that I know of: 520 Cheetah powervalve on 50/50 mix (10mm) with midrange port job, Trinity Racing stage IV pipes, Vforce(2?) reeds, 34mm carbs, heavy duty crank and tranny bearings, plus 8 swingarm, 11 paddle triple buffs, not sure what else. He says the bike dynoed at 94 RWHP. What mods can be done to this thing to make it more competive in the sand drags, and what kind of power gains can I expect? Trying to get this thing ready ASAP. Any help would be appreciated. Thanxx, Marcus
