Wicked. He says the tranny was in the motor when he bought it, and the override he runs now didn't need the drum modded.

Is there something I can use to seal the cases that I can get at the local autozone, like RTV black Thanks

I bought a 1-5 from a member on here and he was unaware that I ned the shift drum , so hasn't sent it yet. I was wonderi ng if the mod was something simple that I could do myself or if I need to wait to get the one used in the tranny before. Also, I was told there is a spring that goes on the shift shaft between the case and shift fork #1. How long does this need to be and how stiff because he forgot to send this also. :/

Yeah thanks for the advice. What sucks is I'm on a really tight budget, doing a full engine rebuild (just my cyl. repair is over $500, and the pistons were $140 apiece I was thinking some schedule 40 carbon steel pipe would be strong enough, or maybe even schedule 80....I know it's not the lightest, but I'm more concerned w/ dropping the bike down to launch it w/ my +8 swinger for now. Anybody have any pics of theirs so I can get an idea.

So by heims you guys mean putting a steel "sleeve" inside the hole drilled in the bar, that the stock bolt slides through? And is the purpose of this to allow the bolt to tighten up and to meke the sleeve/ mount assembly rigid, or to protect the aluminum? Thanks

I was thinking of using 3/4'' or 1'' (whichever fits better) schedual 40 steel pipe to make some struts out of. Does this sound about right?
