The ultimate showdown cool head vs shaved stock head

Don't be upset Daj. We're all wrong sometimes. And that poll don't mean anything when the voters are ignorant as they come. I mean look who america voted into office.... -

You are absolutely wrong. I know of countless people who have shaved their stock head down .030", or even .035". And guess what that equates to around .038" to .033" squish. Stock head milled, not rechambered. You are absolutely wrong and I'm pretty sure everyone that is not a mindless drone can see it. You should have quit while you were ahead. -

I can assure you Rick wouldn't put something together if it were going to be less than reliable. This file is for a 370 long rod banshee engine. He has an awesome build for bottom/mid on the banshee and sells the papers for $15. -

I would believe what Rick tells me over almost any member on this forum. You really need to stop typing. -
Hard evidence vs hearsay. Mature adults vs a bunch of flaming high school kids.

Rick just stated that reducing the squish to .035" is a great idea for adding performance using the stock banshee head. I have always said this was safe as well, however I believed race fuel was necessary when cutting this much. I was wrong and I admit it. But if someone would have taken my advice and used race fuel the worst thing that would have happened was wasting some money on fuel. No damage. He recommends milling and rechambering when more than pump gas is to be run. Bottom line we were both wrom=ng. You stated that dropping the squish down to .035" was unsafe and you would destroy your engine. That is false. So please hop your ass off the little flamer bandwagon Daj. I expected more than that from you. -
BAM! I believe the hard evidence in this topic speaks for itself. Thanks for posting bro.

Thanks for posting Mark. You're right, you can't have a civil discussion on this forum without a bunch of middle school kids ganging up on ya when thay don't agree with what you have to say. Forum is in a downward spiral for sure.

The ultimate showdown cool head vs shaved stock head

So here is where i stand. I believe If you are looking for a good bump and want to stay on pump gas, mill the stock head .020-.030". If you want to switch over to race fuel, have the head re-chambered, or buy a cool head, which ever is more economical. As far as the head gaskets, I believe they have their place, if not necessarily in the scenario I portrayed. I do not however believe that ANY advice i gave in this thread would cause someone to do something to their engine that would damage it. So there. Macdizzy admits the stock milled head can work quite well if pump gas is your goal. He has been working on 2 smokes for upwards of 20 years. I would not hesitate to take his advice at face value any day of the week. -

Dude I'm trying to be civil. He made it sound like the stock head route was only good for one setup. That is not true you can buy another stock head have it rechambered and still be ahead of the cool head setup. Just being fair. -
Yeah he had balls for stepping in at heavyweight. That fight with fabio scherner it looked like he was hoing to get rippped in two....Turns around and knocks him out cold.

Actually if you needed to set it up twice youcould buy a used head and have it rechambered by mull for under $125 total. That's 2 setups for $175 with about the same cooling as a cool head. So even if you have it set up twice you are still ahead on cash. I highly doubt the majority of banshee owners would ever need more than this. Do you agree? -

Rick (macdizzy) seems to believe that on a tight fairly new engine the squish can be taken down to .030" Maybe I'll ask him about the squish velocity of the stock doem design. Good Idea, I'll ask him. -
I'm not really worried about it brother. I'll admit i stepped way out of line and i apologize. I think what I did pales in comparison to the childish insulting and ganging upp by the other members on here. Anyhoo, hopefully there will still be a lot that can be learned in this topic. I think it has potential.

I would also like to see some hard evidence from the manufacturers that the head really cools at all. Just one bit of hard evidence. Why don't they have it? Again, not tring to start any drama, I'd just like for some people with actual experience to step up so we could all learn something. I'll admit when i'm wrong. Such as I really thought that 50 50 was required for a mill of .030". I learned something new today. Cool.

This discussion isn't about mulls job anymore. Shut up asshole -
Dude, she's been driving around a 65,000 BMW X5 4.4i on 22's for the past two years. My last car was a CTS-V. Before that I had an F250 harley davidson AND a silverado ss. We just decided we didn't want a note anymore. We are sending my boy to private school now and it is like 450 a month year round. There are more important things in life than having nice cars and four wheelers. My kids are more important.

A brand new coolhead and omes, port work AND timing plate at the same time. Look out. Baller. Dude just yesterday I dropped 7 thousand cash on a car for my wife. You are a fucking idiot. If I wanted a decked out drag banshee I would buy it TODAY. I realize there are more mportant things in life than being able to brag about how much money you WASTE on your atv

He isn't even talking about that dumb ass

I am, and always been successful at everything I have put my mind to. I have an extremely good job, a beautiful family and just about everyone I know in real life and have been knowing for years has plenty of respect for me. I help people out whenever I can, be it work money whatever, and I know that anyone i know would do the same for me. I have always done my own work on all my own bikes/ vehicles and have never had a problem (axcept my 700r4 rebuild 11 years ago)and I will continue to do so because I feel confident in what I do. I could give two shits about your opinion or the wellbeing of this website. I come on here to kill time at work plain and simple. I would actually go out drinking tonight (I don't drink) if someone planted a irus on this website and it was completely destroyed. It would make my year.
