exactly ... its meant to look stock so ppl pullin up wouldnt think twice about racin it ... compaired to shee with pollished jugs and alot of chrome and power valves andall ... looks dont mean shit when your talking about engine internals ... why dont you guys look up some info on some1s ride be4 you start talkin shit ... i told you all over and over the same info ... where to look to verify i know what the hell i talking about and you tards still keep puttin the same stuff ... i know its not a freakin cheata cub engine ... and it isn't freakin stock jugs either ... its not stock reeds and its not the cool head its trinitys stage 4 head ...

i know it would look awesome .. but i ride through aALOT of mud ... and getting muddy is fun but dont wanna get covered every night when i ride it ... and i know no1 beleves it till thay see it ... obviosuly ... but im pretty sure the guy wasnt screwing me over to sell a bike ... i did my research on it and everything is addin up ... and the seller and i still talk from time to time ... about the bike or just to bs ... we both work for GM ... im a tech in raytown mo and he is a service manager in nj ... so its pretty easy to make conversation about other shit than just the quad ... he is tryin to find the dyno sheet and recepts... but im not gonna hold my breth ... its been in storage for a few years cause he got married and hasn't rode it sence ... so no tellin if he'll be able to find them ... but i honestly think he wouldntscrew me over and then sit on the phone and bs for 30 min about work and other shit... but lets say you guys are right ... why would trinity be cast into the side of the jugs ... and they are dunken carbs ... and dunken does make the reeds...

and you know even if it isnt 97 hp thats fine ... hp dosent really matter to much to me ... i dont have anything to prove to anybody yet ... its the first quad i have actually owned ... be4 this i just rode my buddys extra... but im happy with it ... i love the bike ... i think it looks great and its still faster than hell ... its a blast ... and im for sure satisfied with it ... if is a hell of a lot better than my buddys suzukki z400 ... after ridin the shee and hoppin on that for a few laps around the track it feels like your sittin on a freakin tank ... ... but on the track he can keep up with me ... its got alot of sharp turns and im just gettin used to the bike .. and he has been ridin the same track at his house for over two years now... he knows exactly how to ride it ... i still hit the soft spots and slide around the turns every now and then ... but im happy just keepin up with him ... he's got alot more exeriance than me ... but strait line ... he didn't stand a chance ...

like i said be4 i know its not a cub engine ... but they are trinitys cylinders ... he hot the stage 4 engine kit stroked to a 420 ... he had all dunken intake put on it and the paul tuner exhaust ... had it ported and pollished at trinity and strapped on the dyno and tuned ... they arent freakin stock cylinders ... it has trinitys logo stamped right on it ... and it isnt a "coolhead" head ... its thier stage 4 head ... says it right on the top ... i would post pics of it to show every1 but i dont have a digital camra to upload any new picks ... but enough of this trying to prove eachother wrong ... if any1 is in the kc mo area maybe they could come look at it in person ... untill i get new pics up thats the only way any thing is gonna get proved ... but i know what i have is ligit ... that was one of the reasons i called trinity ... he told me what to look for on the jugs and the carbs and everything ... and he said it sounded like it has what he said ... there wouldnt be any way to check the cc or stroke over the phone but everything else checked out... but anyway ... its still cleaning the varnish out of the carbs the more it runs ... every time it gets more power ... last night i rode it and then parked it for a bit then got back on and was screemin around on it ... then all of a sudden the sound changed a little so i backed off the throttle and when i layed into it again and it hit the powrband it poped the front up and threw me off ... never had done that be4 in second gear ... without tryin ... i was just wantin to go fast sittin all the way forward on the bike and everything andf it still jumpped up ... but i scuffed up my back a little and broke the clutch lever ... just orderd some asv levers... has any1 ran those be4 and how are they ... i wanted them cause the ajustable pull feture and the given unbreakable 5 year warenty ... any problems to watch for with them or tips on installing ...

its got peramid reeds ... and i called james at trinity and he said that 97 hp is high but achievable for my set up if tuned right ... so i got some 110 octain and mixed the fuel 50:1 recominded by him ... so ill run it tonight and see how she feels ...
-
and the 420 is a 4mm stroker ... it has trinity jugs and im not sure about the reeds but the seller claimed they were replaced ... he had it built and tuned at trinity
-
yeah i love it ... its not running 97 hp ... i went riding with one of my buddies last noight and i roasted him but not like i should have ... just curious ... can reeds go bad if it is stored for a few years ... or do they just go out from wear only ... and what reads would be best for my set up ... and is 40:1 mix good or i was thinking about 50:1 or maybe spliting the differance with like a 45:1 mix ... and the clutch on the bike is a racing motercycle clutch and there isn't enough pull... it either doesnt reease all the way or slips ... i cant get it ajusted so it releases when pulled and grabs fully ... is there any other ajustment than just on the handle
-
idk ... its runnin alot better now and it feels almost like my uncles bike ... and it was sittin at just over 100 hp ...
-
not rich as in to much fuel to air ... lol ... the oil in the fuel makes a slower burn ... so to burn the same amount of fuel with a higher amount of oil in it it takes more oxygen ... i just switched it over to the 40:1 and it finally feels like the 420 should ... there are pics on my profile ... they are the pics the guy posted on e-bay my cellbroke so i haven't been able to get any pics of it here ... but as soon as my friend and i go out ridin ill make him shoot a few pics of me on it and post em ...
-
no its got lights and keys... i dont have the sheet cause i bought it from a guy in new jersy... he sent it to trinity and had them build and tune it ... its a 420 stroker ... isn't a cheta block but they are aftermarket trinity cylinders... dual 35mm dunken carbs ... paul tuner pipes... coustom lightened piston ... stage 4 head with coustom port and pollish... so does 90 hp sound realistic ... im new to banshees ... its crazy fast ... and every time i get on it it gets a little faster cause it was in storage for so long ... just put plugs on it cause i mixed the gas 32:1 and it was running rich ... so im gonna try 40:1 today ... hopefully it'll lean out a little and regain a little more power back ...
-
well i found a diagram and figured it out myself ... its not that hard really ... lol ... but shee really screams ... shee dynoed at 97hp but has been in storage for a few years ... the more i run her the faster shee gets ... i love her ... that power band is crazy ...
-
hey guys i got my banshee today ... had it shipped here from new jersy ... but the keys had to be shiped ups so the driver wasn't responsible for them ... and they still haven't arived ... im dying to ride it ... does any one know what wires to jump across to bypass the ignition switch and lock cylender ... the package should come in later tonight but im impatiant and ride it asap ... lol ... if any1 can help i'd apriciate it ... if not ill just have to wait for the keys ...

gtjeff replied to sa3ood_banshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
hey man ... names jeff im 21 and work for gm as a mechanical tech just bought myself my first quad ... still gettin shipped actually but its a 89 that was rebuilt in 2000 by trinity with the 420 stroker and alot of other mods ... dont know to much about quads yet but im learning and i've always cought on really quick ... but what i do know is general mechanics and have alot of body work experiance ... went to school for auto body and have restored multiple cars with both my brother and dad be4 i went to school for it ... about the brake fluid for a stripper ... very bad idea ... any stripper is bad to use on fiberglass or plastics ... they soak it up and will usually make the paint buble in a few hrs to months after it is painted ... personally i would just sand the plastics be4 you paint them use 220 grit to knock it down then prime and resand with 420 or 500 grit ... then paint ... a single stage will probably work fine as long as you store it indoors all the time but a base coat clear coat would be alot better more resistant to sun fadeing ... but it'll be a little more expensive and more work cause you have the extre layer to paint ... after the painting depending on your skills as a painter you might want to wet sand and polish it if you are considering doing that be sure you put the clear on thick enough ... just add an extra coat or two ... if you have any other questions or concerns feel free t ask ... oh and when you get the paint you should ask about a flex agent ... its for painting flexable plastics such as bumpers and such on cars ... its just to keep the paint from cracking and doing the whole spiderweb effect from body vibrations and flexing ...
