  1. here is the manufacture of the cat cylinders website. http://www.cpindinc.com/pub/part_list?manufacturer=3 you will need to buy the cylinder from a vendor though. u can get almost any size and configuration u want. i have a PV cat engine. it took me 3 years to get it working right. before u make a purchase ask the boards, dont buy then ask. im at 94 hp with a 485cc. i also have every mod done to support it. i spent around 6k.... the rz350 motor would be sweet but hard to find.
  2. my suggestion to you is if u wanna ride your bike, stay away from aftermarket cylinders. These types of mods require patients and expirence. Not to mention deep pockets to support the mod. Consider porting on stock jugs. Get your controls squared away then go for power. As far as the trex goes. Not a whole lot of info on these cylinders, they are old and the cat cylinders arw cheaper and make more.power
  3. not at all. buy a set of used cases. its like 200 bones do some reading and maybe a clymers manual. as for the 97-03 bs it dosnt matter. atv arnt cars, the banshee was made for 30 years with very minor differences. where did u take it to "get looked at" a yamaha dealer? lol
  4. if i were to guess he wants a ls1 sand rail. i cant think of much more a sand guy could want?
  5. everyone will have there opinion. stockish banshees are in the 30-35hp range. things you will need to consider is where are you riding and how you want to ride it. i like answering these types of questions because i been through it all and although my experience costed me thousands my knowledge is free. things i recommend to make your bike more reliable is 1) pancake bearing to keep your clutch rod assembly from welding 2) billet water impeller 3) a case saver (synthetic not metal) to keep from the chain poping again and causing more damage imo, the banshee needs control components before power mods. i absolutely hate the a arms and swing arm that yamaha put on this bike. i like lonestar products but agian this is my opinion. once u start hitting the 60-70 hp range u will need to address the clutch, a good set of fibers and heavy/light or a mix of both springs. the cases will hold up as long as u dont drop them on the shop floor. theres alot u can do to these bikes and alot more that needs to be done to support the power. list what you have done, list where you wanna be, some one will steer u in the right direction.
  6. Partsdepot=trinity racing. They are even in the same building.
  7. This company made some quality products but i belive they are no longer around.
  8. was the triple not fast enough? whats next? 4 cylinders?
  9. wait sp ur going to reassemble the bike? and u havent made any mods to the trans?
  10. john how come u havent send me any pics yet. jerk. are u at your magical 100hp yet? u gotta be getting close....
  11. im wondering if they will also make the trx250r and cr500 reeds in vf4. i dont see them listed. i say this because some of us have cheetahs and dms. id like to atleast try them out
  12. I cant say who. But i know someone who has a set and was contacted by MT to proto test the new design. I havent herd much about them though, and this is the first time im getting to see a photo of the new design but i was told they are adding the peddle stops to keep the reed from over opening. From the photo it.appears they have a final design already? Cool though cant wait till.my friend tells me if these are a flip or a flop.
  13. maybe i should of gave some info on my current trans, i have the following drum w/ bearing mod cascade easy shift mod modded shift star jeffs modded shift shaft 8 plate hinson clutch basket with pressure plate f.a.s.t. clutch lockup with soft springs & standard yamaha gear cluster.
  14. So ive always ran a stock trans in my bike. It is my orignal trans from when i bought the bike when i was 18(im 22 now) and 4 years later im finnaly building the hp ive being spending all my money on. Great this is fantastic. Ive bought every part i could find, did every mod u can think of and now im forced to relize i cant launch my bike because i cannot get into second underload. Ive tryed removing the weight from my lockup and this didnt help. Windyjohn and i talked on the phone yesterday about my options and he said i could A. Remove my lockup or B. Get a pro mod tranny (the one with tbe dogs cut). Im a bit skeptical running the hp im at without a lockup, but im going to try it before i split my cases agian. What do you guys think? I dont want a override. Theses trans arnt for me. I frequently downshift and i hear horror stories about how u shouldnt do this. I havent pulled my lockup off completely yet, i just took off some weight. I have a hydralic clutch so im thinking 6 hd springs should do the trick. Also i want a natural down. Im sick of killing my bike becuase im fumbling around witb the gear shift. Plus i can never find it. Oddly enough i find it when underload from.1st to 2nd........ i was told to call redline racing. Maybe i will but i gotta count my pennies. How much does this typicaly cost?
  15. Bigred did this also happen on ur 485? Did the lexan crack because it came into contact with the locktight? Wat if it dosnt touch the lexan? Im starting to have shift issues and ive been messing my clutch so idk if i wanna locktight my quick change yet.
  16. so heres a new one. for some reason my bike has the crazy ability to unscrew the lexan cover and quick change cover. this is kinda weird to me. i though when it happen the first time it was because i didnt tighten it down. theres a whole long story here but the point is my bike can do this. im gunna lock tight them, but im wondering if anyone else has this happen to them?
  17. i like the lakers. full bores are kinda soft and round. i like the look of the oems the best but the 3 piece design is kinda a pita.
  18. tate, good to see u back on the boards. are u still powdercoating these days???
  19. lol cool man thats good stuff. dont worry i dont have any plans to build one. yet.... i like reading stuff on the computer screen. i wish he had more to read on his site so i can sound smart when i talk to ppl rolf
  20. hey what kind of tires are on the white banshee. id like to get a set of street tires if i ever decide to take it to the drag strip.
  21. nyuk has me covered. thread closed
  22. id say so. i bought my bike for 3gs mostly stock. obviously i didnt get a killer deal but a after market chassis is atleast 4 gs
  23. dont do it. even if u decide to get it and dont like it, no one will offer you a penny for it.
  24. Obiously these belong to something. No one knows? Anyone ever see one? Ive been planing my next motor and wanted to do something stupid. Ive always dream of a twin sabertooth......... i dont have any intension of building one anytime soon but i wanna get the scoop.
  25. http://www.cpindinc.com/pub/part_list?manufacturer=1 what are these cylinders? obviously they are 2 stroke but what machines or cases are these made for? scimitar looks pretty nasty. 1077cc how come they dont have any photos of the triples they make? the website looks like it never gets updated.
