  1. yes you are correct, the whole part above the piston and under the dome to the combustion chamber. If your working out unswept volume then yes it has to be done with the engine together. But in measuring domes, dome or head manufacturers dont say this dome/head chamber is 22cc's with a 7cc dome piston, they say the actual dome is 22cc. and its up to you to work out compression ratio. there is so many piston, gasket thickness's and deck hight configurations that it make more sense for them to say what cc the dome is on its own.
  2. i think your getting "calculating compression ratio" and "measuring combustion chamber" mixed up.
  3. clean the dome and insert s/plug. without the oring, lay a piece of transparent plastic ( thick enough for it not to bend or twist) with a lil hole in it, over the dome. use a syringe and squirt into the hole counting the cc's untill the fluid is up to the fill up point. you can use a tiny bit of grease around the edge of the dome to help seal the fluid against the plastic. if you cant find some decent plastic you can use the first cd from a pack of cd's (the first one is clear) but cd's bend if you put pressure on them.
  4. fukn A !! thanx fuckers !!! my bike would still be stock if i hadnt found the HQ, if not stock then $1000's extra spent on markup prices. Its good knowing i dont have to double check the sponsors, they are awesome and they can have my money hahah. tyler, for keeping it going man. big props mofo.
  5. haha, thats cheating !!!! :D

  6. welcome to the HQ. and its "foul" plugs . geez your dad should know that some of the most reliable generators and tractors were 2 stroke's !. there is less moving parts in a 2 stroke than a four, and four strokes always needs valve clearance adjustment. provided you look after yo shit, ya 2stroker should last as long as it needs to, just make shaw you warm it up, maintain and jet is properly . ive had plugs last 40 hours, i just change them because i think i should.
  7. i have the chariot ultra flow impeller kit chariot kit chariot machine work is always perfect and customer service is good to. with this kit i didnt want the polished side cover so chariot swapped it for a anodized black one for no charge.
  8. the needles where straight but where a weird tapper N80F's, but if i played with needle hights (as it was WOT the needle was out of the jet) it didnt change if i had the needle on the first clip or the last. If it where the needle, changing the hights should have done something at WOT. if i wasnt at WOT and say 1/2 or 3/4 throttle then yes it could be needles.
  9. 2 strokes are bad for the environment but massive oil carrying ships that run ground and spew oil everywhere are just OKAY!!!!!!.
  10. i bought mine new from cpw, and i had a weird problem with them and no matter what i did, i couldnt get them to work. i ended up swapping back to the stock carbs. one day ill have another shot at them. the weird problem was a break down, at WOT, in a high gear at 4100-5100 rpm. if i went 1st though to 6th it was fine, but if i changed up into 6th or 5th on a slow rolling start, once it got to 4100 it would break down untill 5100 then rev clean.
  11. its a shame you are at 65.5, because you dont have many bore's left with those cylinders. you could re sleeve it and port the cylinders for the 4mm stroke. as AK said, that added 2mm stroke at tdc has to go somewhere so youll need a recess in the head or a dodgy spacer plate. fyi, 65.5 with 4mm stroker ends up being 390cc
  12. hey man, Kevin would be the best person to ask, drop him a pm he will help you out.
  13. im not shaw who your referring too but is it the member here that has the LT setup ? i think those evols are from another bike and he made them a LT for the banshee. i called my supplier a few days ago about the evols and he said "no, they dont do them for the shee". ill find out more, but im certain you cant get the evols for the banshee.
  14. you cant get the evolvs for the banshee. i have fox's i think they are awesome, i cant compare to elkas coz i havent ridden a banshee that has them, but i am extremely happy with my fox's. i too was tossing up the elkas/fox's and went with the fox's because im more of a rec rider. if i want a harder ride or harder for jumps i just pump more air in and if im trailing i let a little air out. but i havent, ive left them at 70psi since ive had them and they have never leaked and i love caining it over woops and shit terrain.
  15. worn spark plug caps can have a similar effect. if it needs more fuel, you would think it would need it in the upper revs as well, instead of getting to a spot and revving clean after that. you could try needle hights or throw a 320 in because 310 does sound lean if its ported. if you take off your plug cap boots, and check the resistance on them, they should be no more than 5k. i thought you had stock pilots, 25pilots is all you should need with those mains, tho some people run 27.5 without a problem.
  16. are the carbs synced ?, did you clean out the carbs while you had them apart ?
  17. so you can pull something slowly , ill let you know when i want something moved. i make max torque at around 7000 rpm haha
  18. if it doesnt rev past 7500 its not a tuner
  19. have you just bought the bike and this is the jetting it has, or have you been playing and this feels like the best jetting ? 290-310 is about the range, 2 1/2 turns sound excessive, whats it like at 2 turns ?, 2nd notch down from the top is leaning the needle, i dont know what the bike feels like so i cant answer the needle clip position. some people dont do plug chops, some do, but if your not shaw, a plug chop can be a good indication to see where you are at on your main jet. im happy you dont have sars anymore, but tors can be a problem.
  20. for a ported motor 310 does sound lean, how does it go ?. depending on the porting it could be in the 320-340 range. golden brown is normal, you can get some 4x steel wool and see if you can polish some of that brown off.
  21. the clip doesnt have to be in the middle, you start from the middle and either go up or down if needed. so when you say you just got your top end, does that mean you just had them ported aswell ? because 310 is pretty lean for a ported engine with pods or open airbox. if you have a bit of hesitation off idle , try needle hights. list all of your mods and elevation.
  22. welcome man !!! enjoy the super amount of info, the parts, great sponsors and great peeps that are here.
  23. forgot to update this bitch haha. i havent spent any time on this car because the banshee has stolen my money and my attention. im at a bit of a stand still because what ever i do its going to get expensive. The car makes good power to 6400 then it drops off like a mofo, im thinking either valve springs or the turbo. meh i CBF haha.
