  1. E = especially P = porting I = increases C = coolness E = erase P = poofter I = image C = cam hahaha
  2. i run the stock rubber mounts, i know they arnt as good to look at, as some billet ones. but solid mounted exhausts tend to crack.
  3. stock stroke (54mm) plus big bore 68.75 bore = 401cc. 4mm stroker (58mm) plus 66.5mm bore = 403cc just take your jugs to a machine shop and ask them to check them out. they will tell you a size or if they need a bore, it will need to be honed anyway.
  4. never mix different coolants, if you already have coolant in your bike and you dont know what it is, flush it all out. then re fill with your new coolant. mixing coolants can gel up and go all shit haha.
  5. yeh angled intakes and angled pods here. old setup, but they are no where near the stingers, even tho they may look it.
  6. any adapter is better than the stock one, the stock one is junk and will leak dirt into your engine.
  7. you guys should get a price from a sponsor on here "stellar performance" first.... they are priced pretty good and is a champ to deal with. yeh ebay have some cheaper arms, but i was looking at some of the other styles and stellar is better priced.
  8. you also use over twice the amount over gas..... so have a massive tank or ride very little . you should purge, maybe its different with a 2stroke, with all that pre mix, but ive seen what it does to 4 strokes ( rusts everything and turns the oil to jelly).
  9. yes, it will breathe better so it will perform better and need more fuel, so make sure you go up a few jet sizes. if you have the stock style airfilter adapter (white cage that your filter sits on) you will need a filter adpater (like a pro flow one) with new filter. the stock filter cages are shit, and leak. (the stock lid also keeps it in place)
  10. haha can you build a complete piston with all the broken bits you have . id be stripping it man, your half way there, throw some seals in it and call it a rebuild. i rather not wonder and just know.
  11. depends, if you can shift great at high rpm with out a problem go the alky conversion. if you cant shift and your loosing time, get the override. ultimately for dragging, you want both.
  12. cheers again jeff, the last parcel came
  13. it looks a touch lean, id try some 280's and compare results, as it is now it will make more power, but i think a touch fatter will be safer.
  14. sup, he is on occasionally so he may see this post. ive never done the 450 conversion, some people like it, some hate it. the way i see it, there is proper suspension out there for your bike, its gota work better ? and if you buy it new, you can get it built just for you.
  15. +2+1 the +2 is 2" wider and the +1 is 1" forward. camber is adjusted at the joints. dont know anything about desert racing, except you have to spend a bit of money in the suspension department. a member on here also from AU "1sick6 " he races his banshees all over. hey may shed some light on desert setups.
  16. you can get replacement carbon tech or boysen petals for your stock cages, and if you wanted to, you could port the cages (if you felt you could). or just install them and run em. the chariot stuff is always good and will flow more than the stock cages. if your reeds are fine, id save up for a pipe, filter and jet kit. massive gains with those items and you can get pipes cheap as in the for sale section. $250-400 can get you some 2nd hand pipes, new air filter kit (adapter and filter) and some jets.
  17. if he is a half decent rider, he can beat you. as jbooker said, to definitely beat him youll need porting. if you can launch good, youll have him, but it will be close.
  18. hey man, congrats on the new quad ! they're a shit load of fun . just pipes, filter kit and a re jet with an open air box will make a big difference, pipes like toomey t6's, pro circuits, paul turners and a few other low rpm pipes will do great in the trails. Some boyesen or carbon tech reeds will also make a small difference. if you want some nerfs or bumpers, check out a member NYUK he might have pipes, nerfs and everything you need, maybe even a timing plate to advance the ignition timing to give you a bit more performance. top right corner of the page is a "search" feature, use it.
  19. i would have thought 28's would be nice, seeing as your ported for midrange.
  20. do you have a picture of them, like under the piston or near the pin ?. they are 25 bux, they will be cast and probably a bad cast at that. i havent heard of them, id just get some wiseco's. there is other pistons out there that are good, but i always use wiseco's.
  21. so it was good, then you installed a timing plate and it started to bog ?
  22. distilled and deionized water is to help against corrosion and scale. its good for all cooling systems.
