  1. you can save ya self some cash and just buy br8es (or b8es, not sure when the change over was) spark plugs, iridium plugs dont help, just more expensive.
  2. hey man ! spewing ya missed the boat on the good exchange rate ! shit expensive now haha. you can get a cool head with smaller cc domes to pump up the compression and also get a timing plate to advance the ignition timing (will have to run 98oct fuel tho) but id be weary of bumping up the comp and timing with a non welded crank, it will move around. but once you pull the engine down, there is a tonne you can do it, double, triple the power ! but for now, get the new pipes on and the other parts ya got for it and ride the fuck outa it. as for local shops.... dunno, i just buy the parts for the states and throw em together in the shed.
  3. yeh mine is almost compressed. and if i adjusted the pre load, to gain that 1" it would be completely compressed. i was wrong about the half travel thing, been a while since i looked at the bike haha. but there is about 1" of free travel up, which is all that helper spring.
  4. I got that kit aswell and my rear shox always felt odd. Like it was only using the bottom half of the travel.
  5. dont hotrods come with bronze rods now ? cant judge a conrod from its colour man, that racist.
  6. It will be a noticeable difference and will get on the pipe much sooner. prolly 10-15hp/tq up from ya ss
  7. use sealant on the crank/primary key, that can leak and if you assembled it all, you wont see it with soap.
  8. dam 200 ! thought theyed jet them closer to 170-180 at that altitude. yeh around 260-270 with pods. but saying the plugs are black would mean rich. get some new plugs and richer jets.
  9. yeh 5k above is pretty high ! 260main is for sea level with stock airbox and lid on. do you have pods, full airbox or box with no lid ? as sleeper said you could be around 240s with airbox. just for interests sake's, what does a stock banshee jet at, up there ?

    PIPES

these got your name all over them http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1987-2006-Yamaha-Banshee-BILLS-PIPES-CHROME-exhaust-pipes-silencers-V-8-/291454937603?hash=item43dc116a03
  11. Do you know your porting specs ? If it only has minimal porting, more porting will definitely yeild more power. Are you running a oem crank do you know if its been welded ? You could run more comp and or timing. Im unsure of gearing thats something youll have to play with. You need to speak to a builder and get pipes and a portjob thats going to work with the type of riding you do, mid to high rpm. I used to get most my porting stuff done in the states from one of the sponsors on here. Are you in the eastern states ?
  12. 30hp on one dyno 115.3 on another. dyno shmyno would be close to a 450 dirt bike, dirtbike would prolly just pull away
  13. hahaha well that didnt "go down" like mike intended....
  14. tried checking your plug caps and cutting an inch off the end of the plug wires ?
  15. generally its good to use the sponsors as they are tried and true, but if they are all 2 months wait and you cant wait that long, well youre going to have to find some one else. im sure there is many capable builders out there that can do it, but there is also a whole heap that cant and will still take your monies. that kit is pretty complete, i didnt have a good look at it but i didnt see a head or domes. with domes being the make or break of the performance of an engine. the 2 months wait for the sponsors is not the parts, they probably have all the parts there already, its the timing building it you have to wait for, its coming into summer now and they would be bizy as fuck. so buying parts and sending them to a sponsor will still take 2 months as its their labour youre waiting on. up to you. wait for a sponsor, or try ya luck with a local shop. but get domes from a trusted builder.
