hmmm i did it ages ago so i cant really remember heights, i think they were about 4-6mm high ? 1/4" ish i just cut a bolt down, and hacksaw cut a slit in the top for a flat blade screwdriver.

how do the plugs look ?, pilots should be ok, im running 50's. but you being higher up could need maybe 42-45 pilots. have you tried new plugs with the 270's ? from 330 to 270 should be a big difference. try some 260's. but check the plugs, make sure it isnt too lean. pull the needles out, see where they are at. the needle should be a 5FP-17. what are your air screws at ? have you checked pick up gap and resistance, and checked coil ?

I made lil threaded spaces up to screw into the cylinder, so the studs had something to bottom out on.

check plug caps and leads, etc as well. just incase you have two probs.

just a gasket sealing compound spray. you can get it in a tube or a spray can. i use the spray.

bring back pride.

i spray my base gaskets with hylomar spray. throw a straight edge on it, and see if its bowed at all.

If they stuck, you'll have to remove Al nuts, and try to lift the head up and undo them 2 stuck studs at the same time. Without damaging the head or cylinder.

You're correct with the 5 10 15 20. But if you have two turning and not tightening, you have to remove them and see what's stripped. Also you tighten from the centre and work out.

try some 280's and work down. get some 250, 260,270 and 280 jets. on the servals, id back the timing down to stock. especially if you dont know what size domes they are. do a comp test, see where youre at.
