  1. Man, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure he will make it through everything just fine. Stay close to him through his hard time. Nobody better to have by your side than a good friend. It might take a while, but he'll be back on his bike. Tell him to keep his head up.
  2. If you have a Cub, it uses the Blaster pistons, which do come in Wiseco. Not 100%, but I think you can get them up to 72mm. I've actually wondered if you can use the Blaster pistons in a stock cylinder big bore. Doubt it though.
  3. Dee, Dee, Dee.........I didn't even see that. Thanks for adding that.
  4. I love LED's. I just changed mine to LED. I did mine a little different, though. I don't know if I would like mine on the back of the grab bar, for obvious reasons. Here's a link to the thread that I posted about my conversion. And since you now have a brake light switch, you can use this light, too. If you don't mind, add in my post how to install the switch and parts needed. Yours doesn't look too bad, but I would be afraid they would get broke off easy. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...mp;hl=taillight
  5. What are your mods? Specifically porting, bore, stroke, carbs, reeds, pipes, and domes. Also, what is your elevation? Do a compression check. When you do it, make sure you hold the throttle wide open, and kick the living shit out of it. It might take up to 20 kicks to get the guage to stop going up. Make sure your keyway didn't fall off the crank when you put the flywheel back on. If it did, it is probably WAY off on the timing, causing it to backfire. Oh, and don't use octane booster.
  6. WHAT?????????No matter what octane you use, you still have to pre-mix oil. 32:1 is a good all around ratio. 4 ounces of oil to 1 gallon of gas. That's what I mix, and so do alot of people on here. NEVER run straight gas.
  7. Domes come in cubic centimeters (cc's). The smaller the number cc, the more compression. It makes a smaller combustion chamber. You get the head, and removable domes. So, you can change them out for whatever riding you plan on doing. 17cc would typically be the smallest dome, with the highest compression. Most people on here, from what I've read, use 21cc domes. Personally, I have 18cc's. And yes, they do cool somewhat better, but higher compession makes more heat, and calls for more octane. I vote to get it. I have a ProDesign, and love it. Alot of people on here use NOSS. Personal preference.
  8. Here's one at RMATV, made by Magura. It's a little more than I thought. They're $54.95. The only thing that I don't like about them, is they ain't coated with clear rubber. So, they might fray or get dirt stuck in them. Maybe you can get it coated for cheap. http://www.rockymountainatv.com/productDet...odFamilyId=8803
  9. I have a ProDesign cool head, with 18cc domes. I'm at sea level, and making 185psi. My engine has about 5-6 hours on it. I would think that 190psi would have to be with a 17cc dome and at sea level. I don't know if I would want that much compression. Anyways, I love mine. Never had a problem with it. As long as you get the o-rings on there right, you shouldn't have any problems. Use some lithium grease on them to get them to stick to the head. Then, put it on and torque. P.S., to keep your bike in tip-top shape, just do regular preventative maintenance. Keep new tranny oil in it, filters cleaned after every ride, chain cleaned and lubed after every ride, grease any fittings on the suspension, and keep an eye on spark plugs. They can tell you anything you want to know about your engine.
  10. From all of my experiences, DexCool does not help cool any better than the regular green antifreeze. The only thing that I know it does is it has elecrolites in it. They help ground sensors that are in the water system. You don't have any, so I wouldn't worry about it. You already have some, so just use it. It says on the bottle to mix it, so mix it. 50/50 is all you need. 70/30 would be for the guys that live in Canada or close to it. 100% would be for artic conditions. Quit worrying so much about it, you ain't going to hurt anything.
  11. I had a thread about the Magura hydros. I just erased the thread yesterday. But, everybody that had them talked very highly about them. And people that didn't have them, knocked them. A good point was brought up, though. If you don't run the hydrolic line in a good spot, it could melt on a pipe or get snagged on something. And if you're out at the dunes or whatever, the vendors don't carry them. But, you can buy a stainless steel braided line to solve that problem. They're about $20-30. Personally, I plan on buying a Magura with S/S line in the future. I just bought a set of ASV-C5 levers. Believe it or not, the ASV clutch lever and perch actually made my clutch a little easier to pull. And you can also adjust it so the bike doesn't creep forward when in gear.
  12. Before I do what I do now, I was an auto tech for about 9 years. I have never heard not to mix DexCool with water. As a matter of fact, the GM schools that I have went to tells you to mix it. And yes, the back of the bottle tells you to mix and how much to mix. Depending on your climate, depends on how much water you mix. 50/50 should be good, unless you live in a sub-zero climate.
  13. I'm not sure if it would do it, but maybe you do have 115mm rods but pistons for 110mm rods. I think the piston skirts are shorter for the 115mm rods.
  14. Fullbore UFO Maier Laker And, I'm sure there are more out there. Google banshee plastics.
  15. I'll shoot a request at ya. I'm Gringo Loco. Here's mine, too. Good idea. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...iendid=55448705
  16. Just call the police non-emergency number. They should be able to do it on the phone. If it is stolen, the police will impound it, and give it back to it's rightful owner, and take out criminal charges on the guy that sold it to you. That's when you sue. Since you are acting on "good faith", and asking if it is stolen, then if it is in fact stolen, you will not get in any trouble.
  17. Up until 2006, here in Virgina, no off-road bike, moped, tractor, utility 4-wheeler, or sport quad were issued a title or registration. They passed a law in 2006 that mandates everything made after 2006, with an internal combustion engine, has a DMV title. It's not uncommon to buy something used, and not have a title. Like NYUK said, get a Bill Of Sale. It can be hand written, but it looks better typed. It must include Year, Make, Model, VIN, Color, Engine Serial Number and Displacement, and both the seller's and buyer's Full Names, Addresses, Phone Numbers, and maybe even SSN's. Get personal info from a picture ID. Thay way, if you buy it and you check it through a police department, and it comes back as stolen, that person can be tracked down, they can be prosecuted criminally and you can sue civilly for your money back. It's best to check it for stolen before you buy it, though. The only thing that the police need to run it through NCIC is Make, Model, and VIN. I wouldn't sweat not having a title, because alot of states didn't make it mandatory.
  18. Don't forget about me when you're ready to trade. Hopefully, I still got dibs. Holla acha boy!
  19. I'm definitely still interested in the trade. So, if you change your mind, you have my email. Thanks, Chris.
  20. G-Force's are same size diameter all the way across, and the DuraBlue's taper down towards the hubs. Hopefully that helps you narrow it down some.
  21. Thanks, man. I forgot to mention my tan, 1986 Subaru stationwagon with selectable 4wd. Had a transfer case with 2-HI, 4-HI, and 4-LO. I cut the front fenders, flipped the rims around (they were wagon wheels that the mounting surfaces were completely flat on both sides), and put some 29" Super Swamper Vampire 4-wheeler tires on it. Had factory locker, front and rear, that were fully locked when in 4-LO. A buddy of mine owns an electrical company and has a conduit bender, so we made a snorkle out of PVC, that came out of the front right fender, along the A-pillar, and over the windshield. It was pimpin. That bitch had more airtime than my Banshee. She was ugly, but was fun as hell to drive. Oh, and the m/f was street legal, WITH insurance. It was actually my primary means of transportation for about 6 months. Then the timing chain broke, and she went to rest at a local boneyard. I wish I could find the pics of that thing. I miss her. lol.
  22. Tru dat. Thankfully, the bike that I bought had the builder's name etched in both jugs. He's the best known 2-stroke builder around here, and my brother works for him. So I knew what I was buying before I paid for it. Wait for a Navy ship to come into port, and put it on Craigslist for like $8,000. Some squid with lots of money burning a hole in his pocket will buy it.
  23. WOW! That IS fucked up.
