There's a TORS removal thread on here somewhere, it might even be a sticky. Basically, it's the stock electrical wiring harness that connects the emergency brake, throttle, and a couple other things to the top of the stock carbs. It's supposed to be there to keep your bike from over-revving or running away. It's a piece of shit system. It will do nothing but cause you problems in the future. The removal thread will guide you through taking the wiring harness off, installing an emergency brake block-off plate, and installing idle screws in the top of your stock carbs. Removing that harness is the first thing that every Banshee owner should do. As far as flat sides, it's a type of aftermarket carb. Carbs aren't exactly my cup of tea, so I'll let someone else explain how flat sides work. EDIT: To answer you question about 05.Banshee.SE's list. You don't have to go in that order. -Yes, remove the TORS, good idea. -Don't buy K&N pod filters, until you buy the carbs you will be using. -As far as the Toomey, alot of people like them. You can get them whenever you want. You just have to jet it whenever you change pipes. -Jet kit, you'll need to jet it whenever you change exhaust, compression, timing, elevation, and I'm sure there's more. -Cool head is a good idea, if you want to change your compression. They really don't make it run much cooler. Or, if you just want the bling. -Definite good idea to bump up your timing. You have to buy an adjustable timing plate to do so. -Carbs are a good idea to change out fom stock. Most people on here use Keihin PWK's. -Port jobs should be another first thing you do (during a build). You can get them matched to your riding style. ONLY USE ACCREDITED PORTER'S! Bad port job will hurt performance. -V-Force 3 reed's. If you don't plan on doing a bunch of work on your engine, don't waste your money. Just buy some carbon fiber Boyeson reeds. There is a thread on here where someone tried a bunch of different reeds on a very hi-performance engine, on a dyno. V-Force gave him like 0.3 horsepower. Not worth the money, for what you get in horsey's. Unless you just want the big name on the side of your reed cage. In my opinion, I would just start off with carbs, k&n's and Outerwears, pipes, timing plate, and tires. If you are going to ride in muddy places, don't get k&n pod filters. Get the one that goes in your stock air box, and just leave the lid off. I wouldn't waste any more money than that until you're ready to tear the bike down, and do a full build.

what does everyone wear for helmets?
2001Stroker replied to peterlocal22's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I have a Thor Quadrant, with some Smith vented goggles. That helmet is very comfortable. I went riding today for about 4 hours, and my neck never got fatigued, and the cushion inside is plush. Most comfortable helmet that I've ever worn. Oh, and they're pretty cheap to buy. I caught it on sale for about $130 from MotoSport. -
If that's all you plan on riding, I would just get some FMF's or Toomey's. I have FMF SST's and FMF Power Core II silencers. They work good, but not for how and where I ride. Toomey T-5 seems to be a popular pipe on this site. I think that with what you are doing, either pipe would be a good choice.

um....they come from Sears. That's crazy that Matco is cheaper than Craftsman. It's usually the other way around. If the Matco is cheaper, I would go with that one. Anything Matco is usually top notch. Personally, I like Matco. Most of my tools are from them. They have pretty much the same warranty asCraftsman, but the only downfall is you have to find a truck. If you work or live close to a mechanic shop, I guess it shouldn't be a problem finding one.

And then when he replies to you that he does, write him back saying nevermind.....I found one just like it for $3,000 less.

hahahahahaha. Yea, I've seen that vid before. But, it is pretty funny.
-
That is awesome. If he sold it today at 1:17pm, why is it still listed at 11:28pm?

I use Maxima SuperM, smokeless synthetic blend at 32:1. I'm thinking that I'm gonna run it a little bit leaner, though. Next tank, I'm gonna go with about 36:1. I also run 110 race fuel.

I would have never in a hundred years thought that thing wasn't hot. Good find man. Good luck with your build.
-
What kind of oil and ratio are you using? Sounds like you are using way too much of junk oil.
-
You're playin with fire, dude.

Dude, it's hard to find a good frame for $200. That thing's stolen, no question. Definately call the police and have the numbers ran. At least that way you won't get in trouble when you get stopped in the future. Yea, if it's reported stolen they'll take the bike, and you'll lose out on $200. But, it's gotta be better that catching a felony charge for it. You obviously have some way of contacting the guy that you bought it from. If it is on the hot list, and he doesn't give your money back, rat his ass out. Then, he gets the charge, AND you get your money back when he's convicted.

yea, ok. Two of my boys have 2008 Honda 450R's that are both jetted with full exhaust, and they can't touch me on my bike. Maybe his Banshee is totally stock with 500 hours on the motor.

Just use a MySpace page. You can add them all as your friends, and make it viewable to only them.
-
It was plural. It said 64mm carbs. And he spent 14,000 and let it go for $800 and something.

Is your overflow removed. If so, and it's coming out of the hose that use to go to the overflow, don't worry about it. It will eventually stop spitting it out.

Honda 70 with Banshee motor...
2001Stroker replied to lowbuckracing's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Watch it again. That was not a pull start. He flipped it out with his hand, and kicked it over with his hand. He just changed the position of where it sits on the splines. There ain't no room for a foot in there. -

It's about time that they upgrade from drum brakes. -
Do you have any work done to your bike? I have a fairly decent amount of engine work, but I have a +6 swingarm. It's a little hard for me to get that thing up with so much weight in front of the back tires. I can do it, but I have to get WAY back on it. Second does seem like the best gear to get it to walk. First has more than enough torque, but you run out of gear fast.

I don't see what you're talking about. Maybe empty your cookies. I know that takes care of some of the problems that people have on this site.

How much to ship the full chassis skid to 23322?

I know it sounds kinds gay, but I know a few people that swear by pantyhose. I can't bring myself to wear them, but I hear they hold in body heat like nothing else. Personally, I just wear longjohns with some cotton BDU's and windbreaker pants on top of that. Up top, just a white-t, sweatshirt, and a fleece lined Polo windbreaker. But, it only drops to about 15 degrees around here, in the dead of winter. It usually stays around 25-30 for the most part. I know it gets way colder up there. By the way, I'm expecting the jokes to fly, so I'm prepared.

If you have 3 of each spring, every other one should be an HD.
