  1. uh, I know it's a little off the subject, but you don't have a 421cc motor. 68mm bore with a +4 stroke is 421. You said you have 70mm bore, which is a little bigger than 421. I'm sure loco will get you pretty close on your jetting.
  2. Why is it redneck? Not only does it add 5" of front width and puts your spindles 5/8" forward, but the geometry is way much better than the banshee's. So what, you have to use bushings. Aftermarket arms that use heim joints use spacers. Ain't nothing redneck about it.
  3. no problem. now put up some pics dammit.
  4. I would probably call Weisco, and see if they will replace it.
  5. I wonder if it's something stupid, like a blown gasket in the crank case, and it's sucking air in. Just a thought. And yes, you line up the notch with the split in the case.
  6. they're to make sure that a backfire through the exhaust doesn't cause a fire or explosion. i should probably have one on my bike, since i ride around a natural gas plant. inboard boats have them over the carbs instead of filters, so the gas fumes don't explode in the engine compartment if it backfires through the carb.
  7. You're all wrong. Remember the kid on YouTube told us that it fills up with gas, for that extra boost. If it's on the tube, it's gotta be true.
  8. I left the sides on mine too. I think it gives it a little character.
  9. Not trying to trash, but I just went on Passion's site, and they sell the new 12-bolt style with a new lockout for $325. No core charge.
  10. hahahahahaha! This has gotta be the best poll ever. Nice choice.
  11. Husky and Fatboy beat me to it. Sync the carbs. Does the engine break up at higher RPM's? Just like mentioned above, get rid of the TORS. It'll only cause you more problems in the future.
  12. Mine does the same thing. No biggie. If you do decide to go into the clutch cover, adjust it. Tighten it down until it touches, and then back it off 1/4 turn. Don't pay attention to those arrows. They'll just throw you all off. And yes, a new clutch lever is nice. I have an ASV lever end perch. You can get them referbished off eBay for a whole lot cheaper than new. You just don't get the warranty that ASV offers.
  13. No problems here. Probably better than stock.
  14. I just had to dig this thread outta the grave. Regular gas got up to just over $4 this summer. But has dropped so much within the last 2 months, that it's $1.85ish. 110 Race fuel went from about $7.67, down to around $6.29.
  15. Yup, that usually does the trick. But if it doesn't, you could use a pickle fork.
  16. I know this is way off the subject, but I have to school this guy real quick. Sorry. I never called anyone on here stupid or ignorant. I said you're ignorant of the laws. Hugh difference. But you had to make it personal, and call me out as being the stupid one. There is federal case law stating that it's legal for a cop to lie to a criminal (and yes, trespassing and destroying property is a criminal offense, and when convicted, it's on your criminal record). Cops are NOT allowed to arrest anyone on false charges. If they do, then it a major violation of your 4th Amendment (Illegal Search And Seizure), and that's why your police departments have "Internal Affairs", or "Professional Standards". And if that doesn't get you anywhere, the State Police will be happy to handle it. And when the complaint get founded, the cop gets the pink slip because he lied about charges, and his word is no good in a courtroom. And when that happens, you sue civilly for illegally seizing your person. By the way, that's not why we have judges. The purpose of a judge is to find a defendant "Guilty" or "NOT Guilty". Have you ever heard a judge give an "Innocent" verdict? No. Defense lawyers find technical or clerical errors within a case file, and that is how people get off. Or, the cop goes in the courtroom and asks the judge to Nolle Pross or Dismiss the case. And what does me following the laws have to do with you having less riding areas? It's people that break the laws or ride recklessly, that are making people more and more reluctant to let ATV's on their property. All you have to do, is follow a few simple laws or instructions, and eventually, people will start to like ATV's being around. When citizens keep having the same problems, with the same people, on the same ATV's, what do you think is going to happen? They call the police, and they run you off. I think that the problem with not having any places to ride, has to do with those few bad apples that don't follow those laws or instructions. With that being said, feel free to PM me. I'm sure that I can answer any of your legal questions. Sorry for hijacking this thread.
  17. That really blows man. Not just the fact that you have to stop riding, but you have to pretty much change your entire lifestyle. I worked in cranes and big excatators for a while, and it put a hurtin on my back and knees. Jumping up and down from them big ass things really does some damage on your body. I can't believe that their isn't some kind of surgery to help it any. Have you tried excersizing or weight lifting any. I screwed up my back bad almost 8 years ago. The only thing that would help it feel better was excersizing. It still bothers me today, but nowhere near like it did back then. Just a thought. Keep looking up, though. I'm sure with today's technology, they'll eventually find a fix.
  18. ASV, all the way. No doubt a badass product. And like mudtruck said, you can get the referbished ones off eBay for real cheap. They just don't have the same warranty that the brand new ones have. Still worth every penny.
  19. I can't believe that you even went there. I don't agree with screwing with atv or dirtbike riders, either. But believe it or not, they're just trying to make sure you're safe, and not fuckin up someone else's property. Anyone that says some dumb shit like this, is just ignorant of the laws themselves. Go read a book.
  20. I was thinking about also doing this. I sent an email to DirectDrive, and this is what I got back. Hi Chris, are you referring to just the parts for an old style quick change clutch cover mod,you would have to machine your stock cover for these parts to be fitted..one of the reasons that we switched to our new one piece cover is that the stock covers are very weak in the kick starter area and would break very often.they are only about 1/8 inch thick. our new clutch covers are close to a 1/2 inch thick in that area as well as having extensive bracing added to the inside of the cover to help prevent breakage,if you are still interested in just the parts to modify your stock cover let us know and we will check our stock on them. Thanks, Lisa ----- Original Message ----- From: To: directdrivecnc@comcast.net Sent: Wednesday, November 12, 2008 7:22:28 AM GMT -08:00 US/Canada Pacific Subject: lockout cover question I know you guys make a removable clutch cover with lexan insert. Do you sell one for a Banshee, that I can modify my stock cover myself?
  21. welcome to the most addicting forum, ever.
  22. That's like picking a Ford or Chevy.
  23. you're gonna get 5,000 different answers. search it at the top right corner. as far as coolant, just make sure you have enough antifreeze in your water for your climate. if you use engine ice, it freezes at i think -17ish.
