Cylinder setup for a 4 mil stroker crank?
2001Stroker replied to scottd480's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
If you already have a cool head, just switch the domes to stroker domes. Looks much better, and one less joint that you have to worry about leaking air. -
You want a stock set? I have my old complete set that I just took off my 2001. Upgrading to +3's, so I don't need them anymore. No bends, breaks, or cracks. Ball joints are as tight as new, and no cuts in any of the rubber boots. You can have tie rods, too. How's $80 shipped sound? PM if interested.

Yes. LED's can run off AC or DC current. LED bars are way more expensive, for the same light output.
-
Super Cub cylinder, pistons, and RDZ head. $900 is a steal for those parts. I'm guessing it's a 72mm bore? Bump for awesome deal.
-
ask him how much for a +6 swingarm, and +3 a-arms. Just gotta remember shipping costs are hefty for those things. If it's reasonable, I'll try him out.

Here's the guys response to my question: Well I would agree that you know your stuff do to the fact that someone else pointed out the compression after the auction and you're right. The compression on this machine is 220 to 225, I typed it wrong. As for HP I have not had it dyno'd, but the race company out of Omaha Nebraska assured me that it would be close to that based on the specs. I has to run on Cam2 106 Octane or more and I would bet any amount of money that this machine will and has been clocked with a radar gun at 110 MPH. I don't have any way to prove to you the speed, but this is a 100+ MPH machine. I have also raced several 100-120 HP Trinity racing machines and they were sorely disappointed when they saw my little 363cc engine kill them in a drag race. If you want to know the name of the company in Omaha I will have to call the mechanic that had the jugs sent out to them. Also I am running the Pro-Design timing advance plate at (I THINK) 4 to 6 deg advance plus an after market ignition box that is set with some more advance on it. And if you know your banshees you will also notice that I said it uses 36mm carbs THAT IS HUGH. How many banshees do you know that are small bore that want that much air and fuel. Feel free to email me with any more questions. Thanks Jason

As far as I know, clutch levers are clutch levers. Jus some of them have hot start or e-brakes on them.
-
Ok. Now I got it. I never heard of them, but I didn't ask about those. Cause in his description, it says Majic Racing High Compression Pistons.
-
HOLD ON A MINUTE! Ain't you the one that had the monstrosity of all signatures? I remember yours being a beast.

14 paddle extreme tires, 73" rollout with 2.5 to 4 PSI (each...) 18X3 SLS B2B ultralight front drag smoothie tires (10 to 12PSI)

I wouldn't say that. Next thing you know, your buddy's going out of business cause you're giving away his labor and chroming materials. EDIT: Cause one thing's for damn sure. I'd be sending him tons of crap to get chromed if he was doing it for free. You'd need sunglasses to ride with my ass
-
Do they make their own pistons? Or did he just buy his Wiseco or Vito's pistons there?
-
dajo, you kill me. Here's the highlights, that made me laugh. All new zip ties throughout Custom Chrome valve stem caps Big Chunk missing from the cases from a chain break Left over sand/mud from 3 of the last 4 tracks I rode at A little Powdercoat chipped off the grap bar
-
Screw it. He's a buddy of yours? If he ain't charging you much or nothing at all, then I say do it. You don't really have anything to lose, right?
-
I just messaged him, and asked him a couple questions about the psi/domes and the 75hp that he claims. I also asked who ported his motor. Has anyone heard of Majic Racing pistons?
-
What do you do with the bike? A woods bike? Chrome will eventuall peel off of plastic. It's too flexible, IMO.
-
You could, if you wanted. When you buy Trail Techs new, you get one of each. The spot is for straight out and far ahead, and the flood is for near and wide. The flood helps you get some peripheral vision. You could get 2 spot lights, but IMO one of each is better.

Wow. I've been thinking this for a long time, but just kept my mouth shut, cause I'm kinda one of the new guys on here. I can see having pics or links. But some of these sigs are completely outta control. I hate whenever someone makes a list of shit for every single part on their bike. I used to have a small list of what was done to my motor, but it annoyed my so much that I erased it. There's someone on here right now, that has a list so fucking long, that it all doesn't fit in my 21" computer monitor. That's rediculous. Nothing's wrong with something like: (Inserting a 600x200 picture here) 2001 Banshee 535 Cheetah PV

one spot, one flood.

If the clutch cover was loose, there would be 1.6 quarts of transmission fluid on the floor of his garage. Looks like it's just the motor shaking when the rpm's come back down. Did you ever listen for the noise with a stethoscope or long 3/8" socket extension? You might think that's a crazy or stupid idea, but you will find the noise with one of those two things.
-
Here ya go. If you can't find them locally, just get them straight from Trail Tech. All the way at the bottom, click the dropdown. Same one for the Wal-Mart lights too. $6.95 + Shipping. http://trailtech.net/replacement_lamps.html

I have a Shindaiwa weedeater. I usually don't have to go past about 1,800rpm just trimming the yard, or edging the sidewalks. I tried cutting the saltwater weeds behind my house with my mom's 4-stroke jobby, and it wouldn't do it. It kept bogging down in the thick shit, with .090 string. That's when I decided to go out and buy that Shindaiwa. Best move I could've made. Zing that bitch up to about 8g's, and let the .105 string eat. Oh, and that thing will almost do a full twist in your hand. I can't beleive the torque that thing has for a 2-stroke. All my gas powered tools and equipment are 2-stroke, except the lawn mower. I'd probably buy a 2-stroke lawn mower if I could find one. Just cause I'm a fein for a 2-stroke. Not trying to say that my shit's better than yours. Just trying to prove a point, that the 2-stroke is a very strong motor, and should be here to stay.
-
haha, yea they make 'em. I don't know how much they actually weigh. But, I'm sure that you already know that 4-stroke engines have to be bigger and heavier than 2-strokes, to produce the same hp. They'll definately give your right forearm a workout. At least then, you'll have an excuse for having one arm bigger than the other. I'm pretty sure that I seen somewhere that they have made a 2-stroke engine that produces less emissions than a tyipcal 4-stroke. In my opinion, if Yamaha was smart, they would use a power valved engine, just like it's RZ predecessor. That way, a factory Banshee would be able to keep up on the MX track, with all of the stock 450's. That's where you get all of your real advertising. I'm with ya. Banshee means badass twin 2-stroke. Change the motor, change the name.
-
Well......EFI, 2-1/2" wider, and 1/2" more travel is well worth $700 in my opinion. That sucks that it's heavier though. How much heavier? I wonder how many people are gonna use those arms on a Banshee, to get +5" a-arms. Probably be sick handling for a lowered flattrack bike.

Also, if you want a little brighter than the 20w bulbs, Home Depot, Lowes, or any home improvement store sells those bulbs. They're in the home interior lighting section. Those little accent lights that you put in houses are regulated down to 12volts. They use the same exact bulb. I think you can get 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 50, 75, and 100 watt bulbs from there. Just remember, with the stock stator, don't use more than a 35w bulb.
