  1. If you're running on the rich side at 55' you may want to drop one main jet size for 1400'. I would take some smaller mains along, leave the carbs alone for now and rejet if it's needed when you get there.
  2. Contact the builder who did your portwork, he should be able to get you close. Porting is kinda the wild card when it comes to jetting because no two builders port jobs are the same.
  3. Sold him a stock airbox, very prompt payment. Thanks Ryan! -Slo
  4. 10 miles south of Nephi. Was thinkin of headin to coral sometime this summer/fall
  5. Headed to Little Sahara on the 15th for some test and tune time, is anyone else planning on being out there that weekend??
  6. The carbs have to be synced, in other words the slides need to be adjusted so they rest a exactly the same height when in the idle position and open at exactly the same time when the throttle is applied. Use your idle adjusters to make this adjustment.
  7. I've seen one instance where the kicker teeth were !@#$ed, the kid had tried to kick it over while it was still running and chunked out the idler and starter gear on a few teeth.
  8. Stock are the best for the money..lol, unless you want the bling then I would also recommend the Cascade ones.
  9. Toomey makes spark arrestors that are easily removed/installed on thier silencers. They are an add-on to the silencer.
  10. I tried that philosophy for a while...lol, trust me it doesn't work any better. When they finally do find out it's ten times worse. I found what worked well for me was to buy my wife a banshee of her own. Her bike now gets all my hand-me-downs when I upgrade, hell...she's excited about it and even got a membership on here too...hehe.
  11. Best way to tell is to pull your clutch cover off and have a look. There is a helical splined shaft that moves the starter gear to the idler gear, this could be hanging up or like you said the gear teath may be worn. There are also bushings that your kicker shaft rides on and bearings that your idler gear rides on that could be worn causing clearance issues.
  12. I haven't heard of any kits, you should be able to buy the throttle tube and housing then source a cable assembly from a motorcycle to hook it up. Shouldn't be too hard.
  13. You have more flexibility with a cool head. Also, to get the same kind of compression numbers as a cool-head is capable of you will have to go more than .020 and then have the head re-chambered to correct your squish clearance.
  14. Oh, I'm sure I'll have it done by then. Hoping to have it done in a couple of weeks. I've got drill that weekend, but I might have to see if I can make it out on that Friday.
  15. That's still a month and a half away, but I'll see if I can make it out for a day.
  16. Depends on your elevation, temp and humidity. At sea level with your mods I would say you should be at least a 260 on the mains.
  17. You could build a dune ported 4mil with CPI's or Shearers and a set of 33 to 35mil carbs for around $1500 or less if you shop around, you could get your crank, pipes and carbs used, if u buy from a reputable seller you would be in good shape.
  18. Wasn't trying to start a pissing contest here, but I have run mine several times with stingers instead of silencers. I noticed a slight loss of power off idle but, more mid to top. The huge drawback being the noise. I ran mine this way because I couln't afford oof's last year to drag and couln't hear my bike to shift over the other bikes with them. I would also like to add that I had to run my mains one size larger without the silencers. I probably would not recommend this for a play bike because they are louder than hell and probably illegal in most riding areas.
  19. It would have to be cut between the shock mount and the carrier so the linkage geometry isn't messed up.
  20. Im the one that runs the straight pipes that chasin is talking about. I didnt notice any performence change. mostly run them so I can hear my bike over the other bikes when we race.
  21. Thanks for the replies fellas', my wife actually ordered some from rockymountain today. Thanks, Brandon
