  1. What did your builder recommend?? Reason I say this is diff porting styles will favor diff sizes of carbs. You are going to be somewhere between a 35.5 and 39, personally for gas I think a 39 on a stock stroke is overkill....but, your builder will likely give you the best advice if he knows what he's doing.
  2. For your head go with Noss Machine. Great product, great customer service and he's an hq sponsor. I recommend the ricky stator plates, a lot of guys will flame me for that...but, I don't see the point in spending twice as much on a billet one that will be covered up anyways. True, the billet is stronger...but, aside from improper installation there is no stress on the plate so the cast one will work just fine.
  3. For those few who don't know, Shayne is a straight up good guy to deal with. Won't hesitate to buy from him again. Good prices, fast shipping and straight forward explanation of parts. -Brandon
  4. The boyesens come with retainers that replace the "limiters"
  5. Where at in Idaho Snop?? 100 hp on stock cylinders is doable, but it will be a full tilt drag motor on methanol...probably not what you're looking for. One thing to keep in mind, a smooth broad power curve will feel slower than a peaky narrow power curve even if the broad curve makes more power. Arm ripping doesn't allways mean fast.
  6. You will be just fine to retourque them
  7. You're about 1/2 hour to 45 min from St Anthony dunes and about 4hrs from little sahara dunes UT. You'll love St Ans, it's by far my favorite duning spot!! -Brandon
  8. Does your grandpa happen to ride an old trike, can't remember if it's a tri-z or atc...but this dude had to be in his 70's that I saw ridin at little sahara earlier this year. As for your question, little sahara ut. is great fun...St Anthony's in Idaho is my favorite though. If you make it out here, I only live about 1/2 hour from the dunes LMK. -Brandon
  9. the fact that your spacer is under your head and not under the cylinder has increased your effective compression cyle even more than a spacer under cylinder setup, you may now have enough compression to need race fuel...especially considering the head was milled allready. You may want to at least perform a compression test to verify your approximate octane requirements, even if this is not the problem.
  10. On the side there will be a number punched or scribed in them, telling you what size they originally were. Only reason I say originally is that I have seen domes that have been recut. Only way to know for sure is to use a piece of plexiglass and a graduated cylinder to cc the domes yourself.
  11. how do your plugs look? Are you sure you were running the proper fuel for your compression ratio?
  12. I think you'll be fine, the standard pod for the 33's and 35's is 2.25"
  13. Soap is fine. Best bet is to plug the exhaust and cover the intakes with something and also avoid spraying the intake area.
  14. Dick Wheels, I wish I had a spare set of FMF's Toomeys or PC's for you to try...I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be singing praises to DG anymore. Anything is an improvement over stock, but you'd be amazed how short your dg's fall of other pipes.
  15. I much prefer the ergonomics of the YFZ over the raptor, the raptor sits too high for my liking. As far as the engine goes, the raptor has much more potential due to the HUGE displacement. I guess it will all come down to what exactly you plan to do with the bike. If it were me I would go with the YFZ.
  16. I would say probably around 290-300 with air box, 300-310 with pods....make sure you do a plug chop to verify your jetting
  17. Good condition short rod...@$100 Good condition long rod...@$150 Maybe a little more if they have been trued/welded and/or have upgraded bearings ie:TZ or Maxload
  18. Is your air filter clean?? How old is the gas?? What jets are you running, should be @220's for sea level with a bone stock shee.
  19. A bit low on the compression, I'd probably recommend a hone and new pistons. Any more than 5psi difference between sides and you deffinately will want to rebuild. I agree, about time for some good pipes. You won't believe the difference!
  20. Ingersol Rand here!! thier twin hammer design has been copied by almost every other brand out there. They make the Matco and Mac air tools. I have owned Snap-on air tools and wasn't impressed at all, don't get me wrong I love most of my Snap-on hand tools...but, thier air tools suck IMO. Price vs quality the ingersol takes it by a large margin!!
