  1. Also watch the fuel burn on the porcelain, as you turn the timing up, it may warrant more fuel
  2. Every motor is going to be different on what it wants for optimal timing. Best thing to do is start low on the timing and slowly increase till you get the timing heat on the plugs where you want it. Pump gas dune bike I like to see the timing burn around 4-5 o'clock and 7-8 o'clock.. alky drag motor just a little less than 3 and 9 o'clock. Jmo
  3. Seen it many times.. cyls fill with fuel, kick it over rods bend, finally get it started take it for a ride, couple min in bent rod breaks and destroys cases. Never seen a rod break from a timing issue and if it did it's cause the bearings failed first from deto.. jmo
  4. . Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  5. I don't use any of the wiring harness or battery from trail tech just the regulator. Wire stator to regulator, regulator to battery, battery to switch, switch to lights
  6. I've done several this way and works great I just don't use the trail tech battery cause its to heavy imo Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  7. 32.5 is pretty big 27.5 should be fine. Depending on main, needle and air screw.. What is the main?
  8. Voltage regulator, I like the trail tech as its adjustable. I use a small lithium ion battery (cause they are light) and use an aftermarket coolant resivore bracket (if you have the resivore deleted) an mount the battery where the coolant rezzi would go.
  9. Driveline and athena are the same casting. DL are just machined for different port heights.
  10. You can go in on the air screw and see if it helps if it helps but you are less than one turn from being closed that's a good indicator you need to uo the pilot
  11. Did you change the pilot jet at all? If not you will probly need to go to like a 27.5
  12. Use a small diameter screw (like a sheetrock screw) and screw into seal on each side of shaft them just grab the screws and pull the seal out. Or you can use some small hook picks if you have them, to pull it
  13. Electric you will have nothing but problems with. If you have a harbor fraught by you go there, you can get an air stapler for about $20 and it'll work great for what you are doing
  14. Top Dog Racing bought out cascade call and talk to Susan I'm sure she can help you out 5035581339
  15. Choke crossover tube goes between the 2 carbs about a 3" long 1/4" od black tube. Did you pull the flywheel? Did you check the reeds? Could be a number of things but normally backfiring is from ignition timing or the crank is twisted and out of phase from one side to the other.
  16. Are they stock lights. Most after market don't have high and low
  17. Yes easy to do while still in the bike. No need to put anything over the splines as the od of the shaft is alot smaller than the id of the seal to accept the collar. I would replace the collar also cause that usually gets grooves worn in it from the seal, causing the leak. Bearing on the other hand you would have to split the cases.
  18. I belive the polaris trail boss pistons have a differant pin height and a different dome angle.
  19. 18mm wrist pin? If so I may have some I'll have to go through some boxes. Or call dan layme (sp) at dasa he may have some new old stock laying around.. jmo
  20. How thick are the base gaskets you used? Oem? Is it a bone stock headno machining)?
  21. Arrow on piston pointing tword the exhaust? Are you kicking it till the needle on the tester stops moving? Have you verified your tester is good? And .002 piston to wall is pretty damn tight.. jmo
  22. You always have to have consumables parts somewhere. So it's waste shift forks or trannys.. if you are eating shift forks it's because you are back loading the trans. Learn how to properly use the tranny and shift forks will last a long time.. jmo
  23. As much as I cringe to say this (his head doesn't need to get any bigger) tyler (locogato) would be one that has done this and can point you in the right direction. Just be Thick skined and don't take his comments personal (kinda like talking to a teenager) when he gives you advice. But he may be a welth of knowledge in the direction you want to go on your build.
  24. Not much more involved in doing a 7mm over a 4mm. Trench cases and cut domes (which you will have to cut domes for a 4mm also) jmo
