  1. Also need to determine if it was a long rod (115mm rod) motor or a short rod (110mm rod) that can be determined by the numbers on top of the piston. Most 4mm are built with a long rod (115mm rod). Again jmo
  2. Easiest way to tell if they are ported for a 4mm is to measure the floors of the exhaust and transfers. If the the floors are dropped 2mm then yes it has been ported for a 4mm if not then it was ported for the stock crank. Depending on what the port durations are set at(if it is ported for a stock crank) they might be to high for a 4mm which isn' ideal. You will end up with a light switch of a motor. If the port highs arnt to high to make it work with a 4mm there will still be additional port work that needs to be done to make a 4mm run correctly.. jmo
  3. Wow.. that was an interesting read..lol I missed some cool shit on my hiatus..lol
  4. The answer to this thread... Build what YOU ARE COMFORTABLE with.. can I build 160# banshee.. yes.. am I comfortable putting my jockey(my wife) on it? Hell no!! that' why my shit is always heavier then most.. is someone else comfortable with it, with either themselves on it, or a jockey? For sure.. flyweights are everywhere..
  5. Did you put the little black tube back in that connect the choke circuit of the carbs together. Goes from one nipple on one carb to the other nipple on the other carb.
  6. The poles on the stator do get dark colored sometimes. I would honestly check and make sure it wasn't pushing exhaust (smoke) through the crank seal behind the stator. Or through the case halves.. jmo
  7. If you have the stock 6x1.00 bolts in the stator you can loosen those with a 10mm wrench and adjust the timing without pulling the flywheel. Timing is all going to depend on compression and fuel you are running. If running pump gas I would keep it around 3-4
  8. Did you put any paper towels or anything that was forgot about during assembly exhaust, intake, ect.. is the choke cross over tube on the carbs hooked up?
  9. Put some Dykum on the inside of the flywheel and crank. Lap in with valve lapping compound until all Dykum is removed. Coat the inside of flywheel with some blue loc-tite to create a thin barrier between the 2 metals to avoid electrolysis and pitting. Install as normal. Should be good to go.. jmo
  10. You may have to chalk this one up to lack of experience on engine assembly if you put that expander ring in. With a cast piston you can run tighter clearances as the do not expand as much as a forged. I can almost bet that it was because of that crinkled piece of wire behind the ring making the ring to tight to the cyl wall. Jmo Did the person you took it to the 2nd time tell you exactly what the piston to wall clearance was?
  11. I'm just gonna throw this out there, if you used the expander ring they send in the pro x box behind the ring then that was your issue not the piston to wall clearance especially if you didn' gap the ring correctly. And I can almost bet it was a pain in the ass to slide the cyl over the rings with that oil ring in there. Those go in the garbage.
  12. That was at one point glued to the vent hose on the inside of the water pump cove so you can't pull the hose out
  13. I'm gonna guess sleeper06 on here would be who you are looking for
  14. It goes in a little groove between the water pump cover and the clutch cover.
  15. Look at it this way, any beer that uses some ugly ass dude with a beard as a sales gimmick should tell you how good the beer is.. just sayin And with the Busch light comment you will have at least one friend on here, he goes by n2otoofast4u, just don't bend over in front of him...
  16. 400 stroker with stock ports??? Please elaborate..
  17. If yours are ported and have life left in them just keep them and have them bore. If you buy new cyls they most likely won't be ported so that's where you will loose a ton of power. And it would cost $300-$500 to have the new ones ported. Just make sure you take them to a reputable machine shop that has bored atv cyls. Figure out what size pistons are in it currently and get the next size. If the machine shop tells you they can bore your cyls WITHOUT the pistons turn around and RUN. jmo
  18. Can't belive I found this but watch the whole thing. I remember that shit from when I used to watch it as a kid..lol https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3Dl8umqZay434&ved=0ahUKEwi14anprZ7XAhVT2GMKHV0dDU0QwqsBCDEwBQ&usg=AOvVaw3nNtKso9Cads9A9nEoxiUM
  19. Apparently non of you guys watched MR. WIZARD growing up.
