  1. You need to get a service manual, and I would get a parts manual on CD Rom also. You can also look up part online at sites like cheapcycleparts.com or others. ONce you learn how to read the parts book, you can figure out the sizes by the part number.
  2. X2, this is equivelent to the factory chain, which has held up the best for me.
  3. I have heard of guys having problems with the Rick's unit as well as Ricky Stator and RM Stator. I had problems with a Rick's CDI box. I have not heard of problems with the Moose unit, but I heard they no longer offer it. However, I am sure it was made by Electrosport, and you can buy it direct from them.
  4. Buy a Pro Flow adapter and bolt it to the airbox. Then you can go lidless when you want to and put the lid on when it is muddy and wet riding.
  5. Yes, all years of Banshees and all full size Yamaha ATVs came with a key. And in the case of the Banshee, there are at least 3 different style plugs for the wire harness.
  6. I believe they were sold by ATVGalaxy on Ebay.
  7. It says in parentheses that the TORS is eliminated. You should be able to get the cable adjuster from Motion Pro. You can get the needle and seats from Yamaha or from PJ Motorsports,http://www.pjmotorsports.com/keihin-mikuni-needle-valves.html#Yamaha,they are a site sponsor.
  8. Is it O ring safe? You reap what you sow and you get what you pay for when it comes to oil and chains.
  9. Why are you hooking into the black/red wire(technically it is listed as red/black in the Yamaha wiring diagram)? That is the wire for the key switch and needs to be connected to ground to make the bike run. To hook up your lights you neeed to connect the ALL BLACK wire on the bike to the ground wire on the lights and then you hook either the green wire or the yellow wire on bike to the power wire on the lights. You can hook up either wire which gives you just 1 ON position on the switch or you can hook both green and yellow wire to the lights and then they will be on in either the low beam or high beam position even though you won't actually be switching between high and low beam because those lights do not have a high and low beam in them. This will get you the wiring diagram here on BHQ- http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=133650. And as was said, the stock stator will only handle 2 35 watt bulbs.
  10. I would hook up BOTH the green and the yellolw to the white wire on the lights. That way it won't matter if you have the switch on high or low beam.
  11. Cascade is a great place to get seat covers, billet and even other parts. BUT, I would NOT let them build a motor for me. They definetely send out there cranks, I have been told that they send out their porting and machine work. So at best they are just assembling your motor, and if there are problems, then you will probably end up with someone else involved in it also. Which means it will take forever to get it straightened out. And I don't think Chris knows as much as he wants you to think he does.
  12. I run haulers in the rear and the ITP Sand Stars double rib on the front. I have had Edges and the haulers work FAR bettter than any V paddle. With v paddles if you get your weight off center they will start pulling to one side, that is the way they are supposed to work. Straight paddles will slide a little more in the corners, but that fits my style. I do run 10 inch wheels all the way around which gives me some extra stability in a corner at the sacrifice if some traction and tire growth when dragging. I have had smoothys, single ribs and double ribs on the front. The smoothys wander around at high speed and will not cut when you are down in a tree hole. I thought the single ribs were great until I bought a set of the double ribs. With the double ribs there is no more going off the trail when making a sharp corner in a tree hole. 2 plies are all you need unless you can't stay away from sticks poking out of the ground. You do get what you pay for- the cheaper tires are heavier and usually don't bite as well. I would recomend using a red or black label wheel as even my wife is able to bend blue labels in the dunes.
  13. Why would you say wires are inverted? The taillight works on both high and low beam. The head lights have 3 wires- green for low beam, yellow for high beam, and black for ground. There is a blue wire for the taillight. The switch connects the needed wires to the power wire as needed. The power wire is the yellow wire coming out of the stator and will have a different blue wire spliced to it going to the voltage regulator. If you don't have a working voltage regulator in the system, you will blow the headlight bulbs when you rev the engine. So on low beam setting the yellow power wire is conneted to the green low beam wire AND the blue taillight wire in the switch. And on high beam setting the yellow power wire is connected the yellow high beam wire AND the blue taillight wire in the switch. A solid black wire ANYWHERE on the bike is a ground wire. Yellow with a black stripe is for the TORS and has NOTHING to do with the lighting circuit.
  14. Like I said, buy whatever you want from whomever you want. BUT DON'T come crying to us when they are trying to close your area. And yes, these companies will support one side without realizing that they have customers on the other side also. Sometimes it is just a CEO that lets his personal beliefs overrun what is good for the company.
  15. The bottom line is that these companies are on a valid list of companies that are SUPPORTING the closure of the dunes. Therefore, WE should not support them. Because this is the USA, you have the right to spend your money as you see fit. Just don't expect everybody to rush to help out when they come after your riding area if you are still buying Patagonia products!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Definitely use the PB Blaster. And then how about a gear puller- it will apply alot more force in a controlled manner so you don't damage something else.
  17. 14/41 yields a final ratio of 2.98 and 15/42 will get you a 2.8. I don't think a stock bike has the power to pull the 15/42 anywhere other than on flat solid ground. If you are in soft sand or climbing hills, it will be a turd.
  18. You have obviously NEVER been to the Oregon Dunes. It is NOT desert, it is forests with trees, plants, and wildlife. There are open areas with big hills, etc. It is varied terrain and the best riding is mixed into the areas that have trees and bushes. Those are the areas that are on temporary closure and companies like Patagonia, and others on the list, are contributing to the groups that are trying to make it permanent. These enviromental groups go to these companies and say that they buy lots of products from the company and that the company should support their cuase, so the companies donate money to them without thinking about the other side of the coin. The list is valid.
  19. If you are dam good at wiring, you should be able to look at this diagram,http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=133650, and figure it out. If you still can't figure it out, use the green and the black wires on the bike.
  20. If you are dam good at wiring, you should be able to look at this diagram,http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=133650, and figure it out. If you still can't figure it out, use the green and the black wires on the bike.
  21. NO, you obviously DON"T understand. Patagonia is contributing money to a fund that is trying to absolutely close the dunes to ATVs and therefore should not be supported! That land has been open to ATVs for 30+ years, is not being used for anything else, the wildlife is fluorishing and most of the plants(beach grass) they are trying to protect is an invasive species anyway. You are right, they are not chanting"close the dunes", they are quietly donating money to the people that are and hoping that the people that ride the dunes don't find out about it. The company behind Camelback hydration systems is also guilty of doing this, they make large donations to the Sierra club. Ford Motor Company got in trouble for it also- when the Excursion came out, the greenys were complaining about another gas guzzler. So Ford donated to some green cause and it pissed off the logging and lumber industries. I know of more than 1 sawmill or logging operation that will no longer buy Ford for that reason. My point is you came off as no way a corporation would do that and my point is yes it happens all the time. As for people obeying the rules, I am 100% in agreement that the should, but you need to enforce it by punishing the rule breakers, not taking more land away from those that do obey them. That just put more outlaws in less area and causes more violations. Your dairy farm and my wheat farm have nothing to do with what is going on in the dunes.
  22. The black wire is your ground and needs to stay there, you can get rid of the parts of the black wire that went to to TORS box and the carb and throttle switches from the main black wire.
  23. Oh, 1 more thing, my fields are private property used to make a living and are not public land that should be available to the public to be used.
