  1. about right. You might be able to save a few dollars if you order from jeff. Depending on shipping costs. With topend gasket set and 2 pistons with the circlips and all the goodies for the pistons will cost 192 bucks plus shipping. http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/products.asp?make=YAMAHA&model=BANSHEE&offset=10&cat=ENGINE%20MODS Just wanted to add jeffs a great guy and ships real fast.
  2. Once its back together check comp and that will tell you what octane to run. If the 20's still got you above 160 psi then you need to go to 21's or 22's depending on how much above 160 you are. If you want to run 110 that bad just buy 15-20 gallons at a time. 110 race fuel was about 30 miles away for me so I would buy as much as I could afford at the time. Just keep it in a cool dark place so it keeps longer.
  3. To check your compression get a tester that screws into the threads. The hand held ones aren't that accurate. Once the tester is in, then hold the throttle wide open and kick that some bitch till the compression needle stops moving.
  4. Check your compression first. If its below 160 then there is a good chance you have an air leak some where. Has one of your spark plugs backed out yet? For me my right plug backed out twice before I realized what was about to happen.
  5. Check your compression first. 20 cc domes is a common one and I was able to run pump fuel with 20's at my elevation. If your compression is below 160 then your ok to run pump fuel 92 or 93 what ever you can get. If you check it and you are above 160 then go to 21 cc domes. The higher the number the less your compression will be.
  6. ebay has them. Or you can have your stock one machined by a local guy.
  7. I'm about 250 and I ran one for a few seasons till I parted the shee out. No problems.
  8. Boring it .040 over does not make it a 390cc motor. .040 over is 65mm pistons plug that with stock stroke into this calculator your buddy is only putting up 358cc's http://www.havocperformance.com/ENGINECALCULATOR.htm
  9. How big of a crack is it? I had a set of fmf's that had 1/4 inch to 1/3 inch hole in the head pipe by the frame mount. Damn thing kept leaking small amounts of oil out. Took it to school and hit it with the tig welder and was good as new.
  10. Steel, easiest way to see that it isn't aluminum is throw a magnet on it. Magnets don't stick to aluminum.
  11. Not really just means hes done a few top end rebuilds.
  12. depends on the elevation you live at. And if you want to stay at premium pump fuel or go to race fuel. That being said 20cc domes is the reg for pump fuel. Some people get by with 19's. And anything below that starts getting your compression up to where race fuel is needed. As long as your compression is below 160 you don't need race fuel. Just get 93 or what ever your gas stations sell highest of. 20's or 21's would be your safest bet.
  13. Get ya a pipe a foot or 2 feet long and use that as leverage with your ratchet handle. Put the ratchet inside the pipe and give her a twist. Should twist off with the pipe as leverage. The bigger the pipe the less force you will need to use to get it broke loose.

Alot of people run those wickeds. I ran them and they are very nice. They use ball joints instead of junk heims. And he is a good guy to deal with.
  15. I wouldn't feel safe with 100:1. I've seen 50:1. I ran no more than 40:1.
  16. This guy reminds me of all the craigslist guys that are hitting 125 in 5th gear to scared to grab 6th.
  17. pro circuits baby! I ran pro circuit platinum's and they performed and sounded great.
  18. No way a stock port, stock stroke, and stock piped banshee will even come close to triple digits let alone 120. It takes a monster of a motor to hit 100 itself. Yes banshees are crazy fast but what seems like 90+mph is really 70's. And like said before at least a 10mil stroker. This means trenching cases to allow the extra stroke and then there is dome clearance. Triple digits takes $ signs.
  19. do you already have a banshee or you looking to buy one and then build it with 4000? If you already have one check out these 2 sites. http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/index.asp http://www.herrjugsracing.com/ Both do great work and can really open up a banshee. Also if you click on site sponsors there are others who can make em scream.
  20. Check out www.ohiomafiariders.com Everyone is from ohio only about 1100 people on it but should be able to point you in the right way. I'm pretty sure you have to be a member to look at forums.
  21. Who makes it? Just give them a call and see what they say.
  22. Go with k&n's over uni's unless you really got your heart set on them. Pick up an adjustable timing plate as well. Good performance bolt on for the price. You can pick up some 30mm oko carbs on ebay for a good price and they perform well. I had them on my bike and she ran hard. I've used both chariot and noss heads and they both perform great so either one is a good choice. And they use the stock head bolts. T5's are great pipes and very popular. If you find a set of pro circuit platinums don't be afraid to pick them up. I had them on my trail shee and they ripped and sound great. And for porting any site sponsor knows what they are doing and can make you shit yourself by just porting them.
  23. I didn't know fmf made an out of frame pipe.
  24. whats done to it now? pipes, porting, different sprockets all help make power where you want it.
