  1. Check pilots jets! A very small piece of dirt or sand really messes them up. On the stock carbs there is a small hole drilled in the side of the slides and on the carbs toward the top of the slide body you can see a small sight glass. It is on the right side and back slightly. When you open the throttle you can see the slides move up, the holes on the slides should match on both carbs in the sight glass. If not you need to adjust them to match. Hope that helps.
  2. All I run is walmart super tech two stroke oil in both the Banshee and the two snowmobiles. I drive em' like I stole em'. My friends think I'm crazy for it but never have I had an oil related failure or premature wear in any of them.
  3. My neighbor has that same setup pretty much and with the clip in the forth position just off idle there was a slight bog. We moved it to the middle groove and it cleaned up a lot. Give that a try and see what you come up with. I also think that the air screws are one turn out.
  4. I forgot to mention that I have filter pods and not an airbox.
  5. Except for porting I have pretty much the same setup and my carbs are jetted with 300 mains and 30 pilots with the clip in the middle using stock needles. My pilots are a little rich but it does great with that setup. I think that with porting you might need bigger mains. Others here will chime in also with their setup. Just need to work with it until you get it right. Good luck!!!
  6. Sorry, I didn't say what the walmart brand is. It is super tech. It has been around for a long time. My dad used it in his Yamaha waverunners for a long time and since it worked well for him that is why I use it.
  7. I'm new to this site and it has so much info!!! Great place to be. Last year I bought a 91 banshee and it needed to be overhauled before I could ride it, pistons, rings, seals and gaskets, and carbs had to be cleaned out. I have ridden this bike pretty close to 100 hrs. since I have done the work to it only to use walmart two stroke oil in it at 40/1. Still has 145 lbs of compression and runs hard. The tranny uses dextron3 atf in it, walmart brand. The only thing that I do daily is keep the filters clean and change the tranny oil once in a while. I also use walmart two stroke oil in all my snowmobiles and I just sold one with over 5000 miles on, never to have done any work on the motor. I think that the oil from walmart is good and it does have the tcw 3 rating on it. At just over $8 a gallon I'm going to stay with it.
