  1. mine has been sitting since march of last year after it blew up at the dunes.
  2. If you were a "damn good rider" you would be able to ride the bike in its power band properly and not make this thread about how much of a whine tit you are. I bet you are one of those guys who short shifts all the time so the engine has to pull back up into its power range and then cant figure out why everyone beats you. get the fucking revs up there where they belong.
  3. sounds like some pussies need some tampons in here and learn to ride.
  4. pack it with grease and put one thick oring on it.
  5. yes indeed. be careful though. the one i rode, the power was very deceiving, especially when the tire is spinning. i would love to have one to go with my yz490 though.
  6. Just a pussy? I guess I am what i eat. Drop me a pm next time you venture out to little sahara. i would like to check out your riding skills.
  7. some good points. also for most peoples uses i dont think a cool head has any advantages over the stock head and is money better spend elseware. And a stock head doesnt have those fucking orings to fail.
  8. haha, how much you guys get there so far?
  9. do you know what the term forged means? the bumper should bend under impact. when it absorbs the impact , the frame doesnt have to. i myself dont run a bumper because other than the stock on, i havent found one i like.
  10. good to know. i figured map would be pretty useless on a NA engine. although there is the option of individual map sensors but i have never messed with it.
  11. im not going to tell you not to do it. ive thought long and hard about it after being let down by my banshee so many times. 06+ are the good ones. it would be nice to just change the oil, fill it up with fuel and enjoy riding instead of working on it for a week before i get to ride it then having something fail halfway through the ride. Ive practically torn down and rebuilt mine in the middle of the ride. they all have there problem but ill wager that there are 3 broke banshee for every broke yfz. rappy? really? are you 15? they need to redesign the craptor so it doesnt feel like its so top heavy.
  12. dunno if that works for leaks. maybe if it was running it would. the black box is for the tors, yes.
  13. piss on mass air meters. with a megasquirt you have better options for a small engine, especially with ITB's. Have you decided what strategy (Speed density, Alpha-N or Hybrid Alpha-N) you will run?
  14. take the spring out of the throttle housing. i did mine a couple years ago.
  15. While it is a useful test and agree should probably be done, especially with an unknown engine, it is not the end all be all of tests. Especially when where are several other things to check first, things that are far more likely and easier to do. air leaks will also show up on the plugs or a bike that seems to be impossible to jet. Eliminate the obvious variables before assuming the worse. The fact he just bought and doesnt really know what was done and when mean he really should NOT be just changing stuff just to see what it will do, jets included. Just regurgitating information you have read doesnt cut it.
  16. i think i would start by simply putting the correct spark plugs in it and THOROUGHLY cleaning the carbs rather than jumping to conclusions with it needing a leak down test. make sure to blow out ALL passages with compressed air and sync them. i believe there is a guide in the jetting forum. someone who knows mikunis better will need to chime in on the jetting. then there is a little black box next to the coil. unplug it if it is plugged in. 93 octane should be ok with 160psi but is on the highside. you could splash in a bit of 110 for safety. the vibration from the boost bottle flapping around is what causes the intakes to crack. DO NOT just go randomly replacing parts and jets.
