  1. ive driven past it in the truck. its a bunch of sand hills with trails in the scrub. they need to set fire to it and get some dunes going.
  2. took my r2's out for an evening spin tonight. god they pull forever. i chicken out and shift before they fall off.
  3. did it start after you had the carbs off? what did you set the float levels to?
  4. I think its because the bottom a arm mounts on the frame are way too wide in comparison to the top mount. Look at a YFZ and you will see what i mean.
  5. there are several good threads with pics. I did mine because i needed a budget way to replace the worn out stock stuff. It rides better but the steering geometry is off and it sets low in the front even with yfz shocks. The biggest problem is the stress it put on the lower ball joints. it jams them to the extreme of its movement and tears them up. i had one come apart last weekend. scary stuff.
  6. i have a couple trailtech HID's and they are bright!
  7. i have heard of people having the shaft of the shock shortened. is this a cost effective option?
  8. theres actually a fair amount of room by the petcock. you just have to reach underneath to turn it off. easier than my t5's.
  9. no shit, it cleans better than anything. i want to know whats in it. I get a can of CRC silicone spray and soak whatever i want to restore. looks good, lasts and doesnt attract dirt.
  10. my engine was brand new this time around. i had about 10min on it before it saw an ass whipping. break it in on the oil you will be using which should be a good quality oil. I am very picky about my assembly and details so its not like i just start it and go beat it ragged. there is no constant. every one does it different. I hot lapped the shit out of it at the drags when i was at little sahara last weekend and it never missed a beat.
  11. please tell me you didnt order them from motorcityatv?
  12. i warmed mine up and rode it around the yard once and then checked to make sure nothing was loose and then went and beat on it. runs pretty good.
  13. looks aside, i love mine. they turn great and roll great over the rough sand.
  14. skeeter is a moron. That is well known around here now.
  15. to really know your octane requirements you need to figure out your compression ratio. with that said, that much compression even with race gas is a waiting disaster. there is really no reason to run that much compression and it will beat the shit out of your bearings and pistons. I think there are better methods of getting power than stupid high compression myself especially since as you mentioned, race gas isnt exactly cheap.
  16. thats an engine killer right there.
  17. the proper length shocks is they way to go. i would not jump with those lowering blocks.

    R6 shocks

they are way shorter than the stock stock. flat trackers like to run them all the way around.
  19. finally got to ride mine. wack the throttle open at an RPM and they pull clean and smooth into the powerband. once in the powerband they pull high and hard.
  20. I am at 142 mains now. and it might be a bit rich but it gives me a little safety zone. It feels a bit snappier with 140's but judging by the way it 'cleaned' the plugs that were in there i felt it might be a bit lean so i did the plug chop with the 142's. I need to buy a good digital camera this summer i think. its time.
