  1. Poster child for doing drugs.
  2. Spend the time and effort and learn to do it yourself reject.
  3. also consider its increasing (for the better or worse) the crank case volume.
  4. im running the ones from ricky stator. they seem to be pretty decent.
  5. DDQ keeps blabbing about peak numbers like he has a clue. 65hp is hardly a peak number and something achievable with little to no loss of low end along with changes that can help soften the hit of the pipe. Surf is hardly the first guy to try for a flat powerband out of a 2 stroke. I can think of a couple builders for sure that can deliver you a race winner.
  6. I figured that would get this thread off to a good start.
  7. This thread sucks as much as his engines do.
  8. kinda what i was thinking. the stator looks like a 3 phase street bike type of deal.
  9. pulled the top on one of mine last fall to have a look and it was nice and clean still running klotz supertechniplate. not sure how often they need cleaned but if you arent a lazy sack of shit and check everything over in the off season i dont see them being a problem.
  10. Bikebandit.com has the best selection. It gives you all the dimensions. I usually buy the longest I can but when you get into the longer ones the diameter goes up. I can measure mine if you need. for sand I only oil the inside one and use the outer dry. Seems to work well with Klotz filter oil.
  11. What version of microsquirt do you have? v1 and v2 have a coil driver which will fire a single coil/wasted spark coil. v3 is logic level only so... find a twin tower coil with a built in igniter and see if you can get the MS to fire it reliably using the stock pickup arrangement. other option would be to build a coil driver (igniter) based on the setup the fullsize megasquirt and use it to fire whatever coil you want. the GM HEI ignition module may work here? http://www.msextra.com/doc/general/sparkout.html http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms1extra/MS_Extra_Ignition_Hardware_Manual.htm#gm7hei
  12. n2o has some very good points also. Reason i mention the VR sensor is both the MS and CDI are picky about their VR signal at high rpms. sharing the signal may be an issue. theres a way to do it without affecting the original output i think. ran across it on the MS forums years ago when fighting a breakup issue on my turbo 5.0 moostang.
  13. The breakup could be due to the stator or even the pickup having the MS tied into it. VR sensors are funny that way.
  14. Most of you are missing his question. my thoughts are to disassemble both and measure the bore.
  15. I'm local to there and have a bunch of banshee shit.
  16. Bummer about the bolt on tops. that was my biggest bitch on the 28pwks. Shit goes so much faster when you need to do an impromptu needle adjustment/swap/carb overhaul on the screw on caps.
  17. get out some sand paper and have at it!
  18. you can cap it off. alot of us do, mine has been that way for along time. The motorcycles had an oil pump there.
  19. an option but i have $35 and about an hours worth of time with powdercoating in mine.
