  1. thats cool. i just want to see the differences where the arms mount. from your pics the angles look alot better than with the banshee spindles.
  2. can you post a pic of the banshee spindle held up next to the yfz spindle on the bike?
  3. if i had stock exhaust i would give it to you for the price of shipping. just saying.
  4. why? did you read anything in this thread? a tz with straight cuts is the best situation.
  5. No. It was his choice to persue other things.
  6. oops that would be good info to have. I run 28pwks and currently at 138 mains 45 pilots. After this last round of porting it wants smaller jets. ill probably end up with a 135 where as i ran a 140 last year. porting amounts to a dune port. this is different from the jets you will run with mikunis as they are numbered differently. I dont run or like mikunis so someone else will have to help you there.
  7. I tend to stick to the smallish side to preserve part throttle performance (resolution). I like to play around at home in addition to riding WFO so this is important to me. i could probably find a few hp with bigger carbs but not enough to warrant the cost. redline racing has posted dyno sheets that prove small carbs can run. what jets did you end up with andrew? edit: the reasoning is for best part throttle performance is you need to keep the vacuum signal strong. as the carb gets bigger the signal gets weaker per say. I think the first clue your carb is too big is when you have to run big jets to get enough fuel in the engine because of the weak signal. In theory i think your jetting shouldnt change much in stepping up to a bigger carb.
  8. have it looked at by a builder familiar with the cheetah.
  9. They work very well if done properly. This would be my preferred way to set carbs not the stupid deal you stick in the throat of the carb. especially on a street bike with 4 carbs. http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/partno/08-0411/
  10. I had a lower ball joint separate on mine while dragging out at the dunes. we were running it pretty far out too. it popped out just as i rolled up to the line. i got rid of the arms for banshee stuff along with the correct shocks and it rides better and turns 100% better. had that come apart at 50+mph me and the bike would have been totaled.
  11. how are you boring them? stock carbs can be taken out to 28-28.5mm i think.
  12. care to share them? I am interested in the do's and donts.
  13. depending on what crank bearings are in it replace them. no name bearings are hard on parts also have the dogs in the transmission sidecut. no more missing gears.
  14. ive ordered a few bits and pieces from mattoon and its good stuff.
  15. i wont pretend to know anything about how axles are made but i dont think i would heat it. any machine shop worth a damn should be able to straighten it though.
  16. be no different than a unsilenced drag pipe BUT the stingers need to be a certain length still. Tyler (locogato) runs 'straight pipes' that were tuned for his bike. you can see them on his 611R honda thing he did. but they are loud and annoying. so for anything other than a drag bike, dont do it.
  17. I just have a couple random thoughts to add to this thread: More balls doesnt always mean a higher load rating, sometimes just higher rpm rating ( IE- 10ball vs 14ball). go spend some time in the NTN catalog its pretty neat. Koyo or ntn are the only bearings to run. skf =shit as far as im concerned. Having to replace everything because one failed gets expensive. TDR is the cheapest place to get the ntn maxload bearings at $30. Most bearing houses cant get them. the stock vs straight cut gears with the TZ seems to be a hit or miss. Why use a TZ then? because a roller bearing has a higher load rating. Wheel bearings come to mind here
  18. Andy at m&m atv knows cheetahs. I talked with him about mine.
  19. i think i bought 4 for about $10. definately the way to go.
  20. this is hard since bhq labels anyone who likes something a nutswinger. How about swinging off their own nuts. I know of a couple that qualify for that.
