  1. Gotta gofast is exactly right, those that know had to learn the hard way. For the last few years I've read every book and piece of info I can find on 2 stroke design. I've also been developing my own bike and have ended up with something that performs respectably. There is far more than just raising port durations and honestly if a broad powerband is what you are after then its the wrong way to go about it. Insulting bhq due to your lack of research is also the wrong way to go about it.
  2. Never said it was easy. Its you all that keep saying "sand is easy, come ride coal". Besides I can't go scratching up my pretty bro bike!
  3. All they have is come ride our super awesome hills. Could I do it, probably. Do I want to, not really. Maybe once to see what its like. I would rather tear down a trail with trees inches from the handle bars, carve out a near verticle tree shoot from a dead stop or slide a corner on a canyon road at 70mph. Different strokes for different folks. The coal monkies take this shit way too serious. O shit I just let on that we can do more than drag race
  4. Keihen pwk are my favorite. Especially the 28mm carbs. Easy to setup and tune, lots and lots of banshee specific info out there for the pwk carbs and easy to get jets for. Only place I install mikunis is in the trash can. Bigger is not always better. You want to stay on the small side if you are unsure. Too big and you willcconstantly be fighting to get it jetted and running right, leading to a bike that you aren't satisfied with.
  5. I don't think there's enough of a gain for a play bike. The time and money could be spent optimizing your current setup and have a fun, cheap and easy to ride bike.
  6. Most would call them a topend or.drag pipe. I would have to agree.
  7. Fuck off its mine. Ill kick you in the taco.
  8. I hope you choke to death on the cock of a long dead magget infested horse.
  9. Yep. 6305nr is a stock style bearing, 7 ball I believe. Bl305nr is the 10ball 'maxload' and also a 12 or 13 ball but its rated for less load more rpm than the bl305. Why the 'NR'? Because they have a groove and o ring to replace the little peg on the stock bearings. These are ntn numbers. The maxload is available from tony doukas racing for $30. Ntn brand. Say thanks fuckers. I just gave you what I did the the foot work on to know.
  10. Traditionally I've used wiseco for availability reasons but I've had my shit apart a couple times over the last 2 years and they are showing alot of wear. I'm not impressed. I am going to be trying wossner or wsm out next and for sure wossner in my 68x54 cheetah. If it was a lightly ported play bike I would run pro x pistons for sure. Why cast? Properly setup a cast will give a far superior service life, better resistance to scuffing and wear. Most OEMs use them for these reasons. Most people that say wiseco are just passing on information with no idea why. And for the person that will try to say 'well my wisecos work fine'. Indeed they do bit there are other options too. Edit: if you use a cast piston the clearances must be set to their specs. You hog that bitch out for a forged piston and then drop a cast in there it will fail in short order.
  11. I put a grease zerk in there so I can fill the bitch with grease after installation. Went from replacing them almost once a year to over 2 years and going strong. I give a squirt or 2 every so often to keep it under pressure.
  12. Well lets hear it Mr Expert. If I was a builder I would be embarrassed to have my name come out of your mouth. Cocky and ignorance never work together.
  13. The dc conversion is very simple. For those having trouble you might start with a book on electricity and circuits to help you understand what you are doing and why. Trailtech regulators also come with a little wiring diagram.
  14. I use gas to clean up silencer parts when I repack. Just let soak until it loosens everything up.
  15. nice to see someone that can still do some leg work! you will do well here. i dont think you can go wrong either way. i run the tusk with their springs and like it. got a season of beatings in the sand on it. price is hard to beat.
  16. heres a question that came up while discussing alternatives to the trinity powervalves. who makes trinity's slides? ive got some ideas but without a source or trinity valves to pirate the slides from its fruitless.
  17. best tip is dont. trinity is worse than herpes.
  18. ive powdered over jb weld and the jb stick with good luck. i use it to fill unwanted holes like the hole for the vent tube on the clutch cover. powdercoat will stick to most anything that will resist the heat. ive read about glass and even wood being coated.
  19. Need a couple 165# works springs. Or close to that, not sure what rates they come in.
