  1. Theres nothing wrong with posting a thread with what you've built. Generate some interest so you can decide if its worth the gamble or not rather than being a patronizing CS about it
  2. woodward isnt any farther than alva and you can come swing from my nuts at work.
  3. alot of guys dont like aluminum tierods but ive been running them for a few years. the ones lsr sends out weigh more than the girls skeeter brings home. fk that.
  4. you can clean up the hole a bit with a round stone so the bolt will seat farther in too.
  5. Which is not what he is asking... It should be fine bit a dab of locktite on it doesnt hurt when you reassemble. Just a safeguard
  6. nice work. normally when threads like this get started i have visions of a stick welder and hack saw.
  7. screw the rebound out. i fought this for awhile too. my shock is still valved for a stock length swinger and i switched to a +4 with a heavier spring. ive got alot of rebound damping in it. i would also set the compression knob back in the center. never run the knobs all the way tight. stay a click or 2 from the end.
  8. Jesse if you show up with -1 might as well leave your dirt tires on it. Serious.
  9. Depends on how you do it. Mine is an arched ladder.
  10. 120 is way thick. I used .95 dom and think it was overkill.
  11. Unless you can get it broke loose and out you will have to split the cases. You may be able to pull the actuator and use compressed air to remove it. Replace both the ball and rod.
  12. clean up the casting and use 12pt nuts.
  13. My thoughts are that for most play bikes a lockup is added cost, added stress, added weight and more shit to go wrong. if i want the clutch to slip i will slip it. Quality clutch kit, quality oil and regular changes go along way to holding power. but with that said i dont think old windy john is far off in his estimates if you ride hard. especially in the sand which is notorious for being a parts killer. i run an 8plate clutch with 2 unknown heavy springs and 4 stock springs. decent pull and plenty of grip. clutch kit is the $40 tusk kit. has about 2 years on it now and still going.
  14. shifts easier under load. it should be noted that the transmission needs to be spun while you are testing for it to shift though the gears.
  15. x bingo. its about how the bike feels to you and does want you want. a friend of mine has ran cpis and shearers on his 421 cub and while he feels the shearers pull decently harder on the topend he likes the cpis for playing on the dunes with a fatter midrange. i run r2s which are one of.the more hated pipes because i love how they feel. i can trail ride "off the pipe". suits what i do with it.
  16. honda with the logo milled off.
