  1. even with the lock ring mine would loosen. an impact and red lock tite solved it. I <3 red locktite.
  2. +1 for black and white my frame is blue though. silver arms and swinger. i am going to powder coat the frame this winter but i cant decide what color or just to stick with blue.
  3. exactly, theres no help for them. its the same way with cars. i get guys all the time who argue with me about turbos. they will flat out tell me im wrong. i just let them have their way. the 25psi of boost im shoving down the throat of my little motor says they are wrong.
  4. yes just get a cable for tors removal. thats what i run on mine and fits perfect. get one with the 45* angle on the carb ends so it wont want to kink the cable at the top of the carb.
  5. split shifting on the 'brake FTW! also some of the newer trucks simply refuse to shift with the clutch unless the motor is being overrun against the governer down a hill in which case you dont have a choice. as far as the banshee, the way i see it a clutch is cheaper than splitting the cases.

  7. for some reason my photobucket has locked me out? o but heres my place holder for my 86 mustang coupe. i am swapping out the twin turbo 302 for a 460. possibly turbo but i dont know where theres room i also have an 87 merkur xr4ti.full poly suspension, limited slip diff, 4 puck clutch, ported exhaust manifold, .60/.63 turbo alcohol injection and 22psi. its my nice weather daily driver.
  8. i just got my a arm conversion done and am still running the banshee shocks and its a world of difference. i really like it other than the fact that it sits low in the front.

I am going to try out some pro circuit platinum pipes in place of my trinity's. im curious as to what the masses have to say about changing jets so i can be prepared this weekend if i need to rejet. my elevation is 1450 and the bike is jetting for 80* currently. mods are as follows trinity head and 18cc domes (175psi compression) timing at 4* vforce reeds keihen 28 mm carbs with 140 jets currently. (i forget what pilots ) k&n in stock airbox, no lid. cleanup port. thanks
  10. my favorite is to sit on the tank hold revs up and as soon as the light is green/hands drop/etc it goes WOT and i let out on the clutch slow enough not to bog it but fast enough not to really slip it if that makes sense. it gets slipped just enough to keep it in the powerband. it usually ends up with the tires a foot in the air but it works once you get the hang of it. we do all of our grudge races on concrete. i loves to eat me some 4 pokes.
  11. agreed. in the sand its a give/take race for me. on hard packed dirt or on the street i can take most 4pokes pretty easily.

  14. i am still intending to when i get the time. any little free time is spent riding or doing things around the house. i have access to straight ethanol and e85. whats the biggest jets i can get for keihen carbs? to the guy that was trying to mix ethanol and gas together, you must have some shitty alcohol. pure ethanol (well e98) readily mixes with about anything. we mix right in the ground tanks at work. no science to it. i mix some E and water 60/40 and use it in my alcohol injection in my car.

  16. my buddy had the STOCK key shear in his blaster. tore the living shit out of his brand new crank and flywheel. i guess i wouldnt want anything in there that would make it shear easier.
  17. i myself might try a new set of plugs and let it run for a bit to make sure any fuel and oil setting in the crankcase is out. seems like everyones thinking now days is just tear it apart and throw money at it.
  18. about the over rev? last time i checked over-rev was just that, taking the motor out of its normal operating range. the last time i did it with a car i broke alot of shit in the top end. a motor that is capable of making more topend power could potientially be able to over-rev easier.
  19. try owned somthing turbocharged, suddenly both car you own are turbo and you are always trying to turn the boost up. my daily driver (a merkur xr4ti for those that know what those are) and sees 25psi on alcohol injection. a turbo and fuel injected banshee is next me thinks.

  21. there is a guy on ebay selling a complete wiseco topend kit for less than $200 shipped. pistons, rings, gaskets, bearings and pins. i am running one right now. received it in less than a week from ordering.
  22. the couple i have seen used megasquirt or a variant of. i myself would never put anything related to a polaris on my banshee. i am going to use a micro squirt but i havent got around to it yet. probably be a couple years. i got a car to build first
  23. very nice. i have always wanted to do this. i love the way a yfz450 rides but i gotta have my 2 stroke.
  24. I have never had a problem with trinity. they were always helpful with the little parts i needed. they could answer the phone a little faster though.
