  1. the shocks will be the same length for standard or +2 a-arms, they will just be valved stiffer for the +2 arms because of the extra leverage the wider arms put on the shock. definitly need shocks valved and sprung for the +2 or else they will be very soft and bottoming out most likely
  2. yea the asr's looked very nice and very well made wheni saw em on zach and wackos bikes. very beefy and very nice welds, if you want something with full adjustability and heim joints, i would definitly consider them
  3. ice cube is the name for those 4 stroke big bore kits
  4. wow, full flight finally got with the program and started making chromoly a-arms... cool, only problem is they are still cheap heim joints arnt they? when i was lookin at gettin some of those full flights, they told me in an email that you could add upgraded chromoly heim joints for more money, meaning the ones they give you with them must be shit.
  5. wow.. what kind of elka shocks come with the kit?! lastime i looked they wanted $750+ for just the elka dual rate with rezzie and preload adjustment
  6. cut your top and cut out a peice of an outerwear, they are leik $10, those airbox "vents" are shit and even if u put them in the top layer, theres still another layer of plastic below you gota cut both layers off, fuck the vents
  7. if your gona run 450 shocks you are gona want some wider a arms to go with them. but do not get the 450 a arms unless you want your front end on the ground and your frame and a-arms hitting every rock on the trails, even so to make the 450 shocks work the best you will want them rebuilt, revalved, new springs, for yoru weight and stuff,, could get costly if your gona go that route just buy sonme aftermarket shocks, if your just lookin for a cheap way to improve just toss on some used 450 shocks and play with the adjustments a bit. im sure there is a way to soften them up a bit, im 230lbs+ and my friends yfz 450 felt stiff as hell even for me
  8. my cats usually arnt 40 feet up in the air when i trip over them
  9. i guess i shoulda have said paved roads or a drag strip, but if you drag on those huge dunes with all the whoops half way up, i couldnt imagine hittin them with stock suspension,
  10. one word: s u s p e n s i o n you can only go as fast as your suspension lets you... its great to have hp, but not much sense in having a bunch of hp and a stock suspension, a piped banshee with decent suspension would KILL a 60+Hp stock suspended banshee through any terrain unless it was a paved road..and even then, when a corner comes up, bye bye
  11. you could tighten down the spring preload adjuster on top of the spring a bit, but really the only way to get it to perform good would be to get it set up for your weight and style
  12. some used a-arms and shocks and the right tires help alot.. i dont know how people run those flat front tires..they handle horribly, these new skinnier, rounded front tires, with the center row of knobs, like razr 2's or gncc holehots, handle so well, and turn so easy, you gota try a set, you will never go back to the old style front tire
  13. no they are not pro taper, they were a custom bend made from round tube titanium.. and sorry the quad is gone, its been sold locally for $650. thanks for the interest guys! ill be building another one next year!
  14. 4 mil stroker hill shooter!! you dam well got the hills for it already over there!!
  15. i dont think i would wana go over 80mph with knobbies, 6th gear on pavement is squirly as hell
  16. id say they are pretty close as far as acceleration goes, i guess thats what you mean by faster?, but total different animals of course, the 700 likes to be lugged and short shifted and just has tons of torque everywhere, the 450 has alot of torque and can be lugged a gear higher too, but they definityl make their power higher up in the rpms and like to be revved a little more than a 700, seems like the 700's are faster when you lug them if you know what i mean
  17. ive only ridden a piped trx and yfz, they are nothing special, alot of instant torque, better traction off the line in the dirt, you can get them outa the hole quick without alot of tire spin easier than a banshee of course, get em in the open , on pavement, on grass, and the banshee is just as fast as a piped one of them if not faster on the topend, im only talking about piped/k&N filter here, never rirdden or ridden with a ported/hihg comp piston, camed one though but i bet they are sweet. id really like to get my hands on a KTM 525xc
  18. i dont see how you need ported cylinders to keep up with or beat a piped yfz.. some of you guys are crazy or have only ridden with highly modded 450;s that are lying to you.. not just piped ones
  19. i like this one: was that a raptor 700 or a raptor 350? hahaha and this: love how the 450 gets the jump and the little blaster just comes flying by
