  1. That's about where I'd like to be. I don't want to run a decent set of paddles because the poor excuse for sand we have out here eats them up. I've been running 4 snows. I know I'm giving up out of the hole but it seems to help out on top. I'm running mine with the stock swinger. If I get it right I can carry the front wheels through second, shift , and half way through 3rd. They bite fairly well.
  2. No not switching anything but go fast parts. I like the setup of the bike now. Nice and wide. I'm less prone to falling off that way. Don't have many hills to shoot up out here in shitsville. There's some at the Badlands in Indiana but nothing worth changing my bike setup for.
  3. No it's a guy with a shop a little ways from me. The nice broad powerband is what I need. I do like the drag racing like every other speed freek out there though. I'm going to try and sell my Pro Circuits and some cylinders and a crank I have and see if I can dig up a decent sep of pipes. Then I guess I will try and come up with some VF3s. I'm guessing you guys with the strokers are running CPIs Shearers? I think thats what Jim recommended.
  4. That's a hell of a drive for you isn't it? I was in Seattle in the summer. Trying to talk my wife into moving out there. My mom lives out there. Kinda thinking it's a pipe dream though.
  5. I'm not dogging Jim's work in any way. I guess all this stuff is relative. I rode a Trinity 420 along time ago that was handing me my ass. That guy was beating me by like 8 bikes. It didn't feel that fast then. It was though. My bike now has what I'd call kind of a motorcross setup on it. A-arms, wider axle, full skid plate, all that crap. I'm sure it's a heavy bike. I gauge it's performance off my buddies YFZ. It hasn't changed in the last several years. He's about my size and weight. Same riding experience. Difference in speed is in the bikes. I don't want to change the equipment on my bike but the guys with what are supposed to be similar engine setups are getting me by a few bikes. I'm kinda thinking it's something I'm going to have to live with.
  6. I don't have the experience with these that it sounds like you do but I've heard this guys story before. The only time I've ever been realy impressed with a bike was back in the day when I put my first set of pipes on a stock Banshee. It's all been realy kinda ho-hum since then. This bike runs all right bit it's only about 1-2 bikes faster that my buddies, jetted and piped YFZ. And that's if I don't miss a gear. It's possible I don't have the jetting totally dialed in yet but it's still not the arm ripping machine I was hearing about. I see you are in Bonny Lake. Where do you ride at around there?
  7. I'm being told that this person has seen 137hp on stock cylinders many times. Don't know the guy and don't want to bad mouth him or his business that just seems reeeeeeally high from what I've seen and heard. Jim told me this motor I have was dynoed at 80 horse in it's original stages with the right supporting hardware. I don't think I'm anywhere close but i'm also running the wrong pipes and too small of carbs I think.
  8. I'm sure this question has been asked already but, I've got a Passion 12 port long rod 4 mill stroker. Pistons on 2nd or 3rd bore. What would have to be done or is it even possible to even get 100hp from it? That seems a little far fetched to me. If it's possible would it still be ridable or would it be a light switch drag bike? Thanks, Dave
