06 Honda 250EX for sale ot trade for a Banshee/Quadzilla
dave5.0 replied to dave5.0's topic in Swap and Trade
Your wife's alot braver than my wife. I just took here to the dunes and she wouldn't even ride. The hills creeped her out. The idea of riding a 4 mill is crazy as far as she is concerned. They get a little creepy with trees around though. Come on like he said, somebody needs this little bike so I can build another drag bike. -

So with the exception of you and all the people that ride nothing but sand, this is a perfect bike for somebodies wife. It's a perfect little woods bike for somebody smaller framed or is younger or just starting out. How often does your wife ride her Banshee in the woods? -

Nobody has a beater they want to trade so there wife doesn't have to ride it anymore? This is the perfect bike for her. -
Got an email from them today. Bike sold in 3 hours. No title though if I remember right.I would have bought it and picked up a different frame. Saw another one nearby for $950 I think. No title either.

I rode it on a track this weekend and wasn't real thrilled. I'm too big a pussy to be a real motorcrosser anyway. I like to jump but not very high. Had fun on a tt track with it though. Don't think I will make this trip. Anniversery is this weekend and I'm committed to helping with a Haunted House so it will be first of November before I can make a trip. Just hope it's not -20 by then.

dave5.0 replied to Wade's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Nothing you would want. Just my wifes little 06 250EX. Nice little bike, she's just ready to move up. She's gonna ride my Z400 and I want another Banshee. My link -
We need some kind of mailnig list for when a trip is planned. I just stumbled across this. I'd love to go there again. Haven't been since the last trip. I'd like to see how my new bike does over there.

That's what I was going to do. I personaly would rather take that one apart and fix it then you know what you got. Not everybody likes to do that though. The next one might be the same way.

Get somebody to buy my little Honda and I'll come take it off your hands. -
Ask him if he wants to sell it cheap. I'm in the market. Don't know of any other way than to replace it. Or sell it to me and I'll replace it.
-
Does the rod move at all? If not you'll probably have to replace the clutch shaft. I think Yamaha calls it the main axle? If there's any scoring inside I wouldn't want to reuse it. That rod spins in there. If you have to do that you'll be splitting the cases. After that get a pancake bearing for it. Shouldn't have to worry about it again after that.

That's it. It's a nice little bike, runs good looks good, easy to ride. If somebody is looking for a bike for the wife or kid or is just learning this is the bike. Has the auto clutch so you can shift it like a sport bike or use the auto clutch. Runs for a couple of days on a tank of gas. Can't beat that. Anyway, I'm looking for another Banshee. Might consider a Quadzilla. Would rather have a stock cylinder bike. Maybe even a totaly stock bike. Add ons are good though. Don't really want a ported bike unless you have proof of where it was ported and what kind of port. Like to have something that hasn't been jacked with much. These are on craigslist for around $2000-$2500. I'll consider anything there and under. Might even do a basket with cash? Let me know what you have. Bike does have a title so I would like one if we trade. I also have a set of tires and wheels off my 06 LTR450 I could put on it and I keep the stockers. Those are a lot sportier tire. Thanks. I'll still be around. I'm lookig for another one already. I need one like you have sitting in your garage. I want to do a little sleeper drag bike. I want something kinda ratty though. That way it's cheap. I think I have a pic or two. Nothing special. Pretty cookie cutter. Looks like every other white LTR out there. Fun to ride though. No more than I've rode it it hauls ass. Fires right up and idles nice. Instant throttle response. Nice.

Bike is gone thanks guys.

This sounds like the beginning of every ad about somebody wanting to get rid of their Banshee. I've already got a 4 stroke. 2 actually. That's part of the reason I want another one. I want one faster. I'm tired of going to the airport to get gas, tired of spending half the day trying to get the jetting right when the temps drop 10 degrees, tired of carrying a case of spark plugs so I can ride with my kid, tired of using 3 gallons of gas in an hour of riding, all the wonderful stuff that we think is cool when we first get one of these things. I've had about 10 years of it and I'm ready for a change. The interesting thing is riding it back to back with my Z400 in the dunes made me want a bigger 4 stroke. I would have thought it would make me want to keep the Banshee. Not so much. The Banshee ran the whole time and the Suzuki broke and I still liked the 4poke better. That's where I'm at. Worst case is I get another one if I miss it. Stock ones are dime a dozen anymore. Don't see that happening though.

Thanks for the kind words. That was a fun trip. We should do it again sometime. I'm actually working on a couple of deals for 450s at the moment. If one of them doesn't pan out I might be interested in the Raptor. Kinda like to have a fuel injected bike though. But I'm trying to keep my options open.

I've been kicking the idea around for a while now and I think now is the time. I'd like to have a 700 Raptor but a YFZ might be nice also. Probalby want to keep it Yamaha. Never know though. I think my title says my frame is a 93, The cases came out of an '87 I had along time ago. I just went through the motor and replaced crank bearings, clutch basket, clutch, clutch hub, all the seals, and some little parts and pieces. It's got +3+1 Lone Star front arms, +2 Ebay swinger, YFZ front shocks, Passion 12 port 4mill, all the other goodies to go with that. 35mm A/S, coolhead w/stroker domes, VF3s, Boss intake, a bunch of other stuff that if interested I can go into further. I don't have it for sale, trade only. Unless you want to give me a stupid amount of money for it. Please dont ask what I want for it. I don't need to sell it just looking for something different. I can get some pics up later if someone wants some. Just checking interest right now. I have a possible deal on a YFZ already just thought I would do a little fishing and see if anything else is out there. Let me know. Thanks.

Anybody? I've got it sitting on the bench waiting for somebody to tell me I'm wrong.

I think these are the ones with the relief cut in them at the exhaust port. They used to call them the poor mans port job. They act like the port is raised I think. I ran a set for a few years and had 0 problems with them. A guy I raced with at the time had a set with pipes, carbs and some other bolt ons and put out 50-55 at the wheels.
-
How about I save you some trouble and just come and pick them up?
-
How much for the plastic?
-
I think this TZ I got is on backwards. Doesn't the crank want to push toward the stator? If so then the center race for the bearing should go on with the lip facing away from the crank right? Shouldn't be able to get the bearing off without the race if installed correctly?

Well I don't know how long the basket was on the shelf. I bought it from a very reputable shop that had it drop shipped to me from Boss or Inland. Not sure which. The shop I bought it from told me I bought it 16 months ago. That's not a number I pulled out of my ass. I understand what the millions of people say, but that's not me. I'm not bitching about getting a free basket. If I was to get one I would have sold it anyway. Just like Firehead said it apears to be a poorly made basket. That's the only point I'm trying to get across. The shop I got it from offered to sell me one for half the price of new. I thought that was pretty generous of them for as long as I've had it.
-
How old would you say it is? I guess you are talking about the pics at the beginning of the thread? Mine look worse than that and the basket is 16 months old. That's from purchase not actual use. I don't ride mine that often.
