  1. Well if the truck is clean and reliable and a 6 speed you could get "crazy" and convert it to a dually. Its not that hard
  2. Nobody is every going to "get all the bugs worked out" Not going to happen. You either want a new truck or you dont.
  3. I am currently fighting the fight too. My 2001 has been a fantastic truck. Its a 6 speed, it runs better than good and has never left me on the side of the road. Every time I drive a newer truck i get the itch but just cant pull the trigger. My oldest will be driving in a few months and has informed me the truck is hers. Im actually not opposed to that idea as i want her in something big and i want her to have experience with a manual trans. So im trying to convince myself that i want a new truck. but FML 60-70 grand for shitty mileage?
  4. I think the most important factor is where you get your fuel. I pretty much buy all my fuel at a truck stop that turns a lot of volume. I used to change fuel with each oil change but my filters were always great looking. Started doing fuel with every other oil change and honestly could probably go every 3rd or 4th. However that being said i also got a shitty load of fuel on vacation 1 time and burned through 2 filters in 800 mile trip. I always keep a spare in the truck just in case.
  5. what air filter? it makes a big difference. When my bike was stock with T5s and foam filter no lid i ran 290 mains. When i went to pods with no air box obviously i had to go to 320 mains at glamis. My guess is you are pretty closely jetted for glamis now but ive never run your pipes. If anything id buy a couple sizes of jets up from where you are at just in case but id run it where its at and do a plug check first thing.
  6. Hey no argument, ive heard of some fast stuff he built and a couple guys around here were friends with him. But he was sketchy as fuck in the shout box at times and no doubt it seems he went all the way off the deep end.

  8. Yup, the good lights come with waterproof connectors on them anyway. Makes unhooking a snap. With a little ingenuity you could come up with fasteners to make it quick disconnect without tools im sure.
  9. Here is a close up shot of the bracket i made. I wanted something bulletproof and easy to adjust and i already had the bar clamps sitting around since I replaced mine with Precision units. If you trim the foam you can install a bar pad over it and all you see is the light.
  10. From outside edge to outside edge of the stock mounts is right at 17 inches. Inside to inside is 13 inches. anything in that range would fill the space nicely with some new mounting. When the lights start to get out to that 17 inch mark they look pretty damn big imo.   11. i believe you and can most likely tell you why. The first trip to the dunes dissapointed me as i couldnt see shit. I had ridden the bike in the woods and desert and could not figure out why in the dunes i was having so much trouble. The answer is hot spots that kill your night vision. The sand is very white and the combo beam on the ONYX is so bright in the middle of the pattern that your eyes actually start to lose some of their night vision. If you are looking anywhere but in that nice bright spot you cant see. I switched all my lenses over to the diffused pattern and could see much better.

  15. perfect example, of what i talked about earlier that consumes 50% more power than a "quality" light for the amount of output. ON a vehicle with enough charging system thats fine. but on a bike not so much

  17. There is actually some truth to this. How old are you? My fucking night vision has gone to dog shit. What can i say i guess im just too old. Even with all the lights on the 450 i still have trouble in the dunes as i cant distinguish the terrain changes. Dessert/woods no problem. Ive just come to the realization that the night dunes are pretty much done for me unless its a putt to olds to watch racing.

  19. The big difference and the main reason i spent the money for good light bars and cubes is the output. Yes the chinese bars work great. but Lumen per watt you get what you pay for. My fofiddy up there is putting out 12600 lumens using 126 watts. You wont get nearly that much output from chinese lights. if i had them on a truck or sxs with a big battery and good charging system id just go chinese and run more of them.

  21. They shoot great, if you cant hit anything with a glock then you need to work on trigger control plain and simple. Its hard to hear believe me ive been there but its the truth. Guys get wrapped up in having 1911 like triggers but thats a crutch. Put away the ego get some proper training and practice, ill promise that little glock is more than accurate enough. Most factory glocks will shoot a 3 inch group at 25 yards all day. Its the shooter that needs the modifications to get it done.
