  1. If you are starting from scratch you better budget at least 2K. To do a 4mil you are going to need a crank, pistons, a cool head (with domes cut for a 4 mil) and porting to make it run right. Thats a minimum. To do it right you may as well put a good clutch in it or you will be soon. More than likely your stock clutch basket is beat to shit so get a billet basket and replace the pressure plate and inner hub. If you dont do all that, you will be on here after you ride it the first time asking why your bike creeps in gear when the clutch is pulled in. By the time you buy gaskets o rings sealer etc etc you are gonna chew up a good portion of that 2k. Now Since you are in there get a pancake bearing, mod the shift star and the shift shaft (replace that fucker if its worn). Take a look at the impellar they are known for being fucky. Also what kind of pipes do you have? Reeds? Carbs. Next thing you know you got 4 grand in this turd. If you are on a tight budget, stay with the stock crank. Get it welded and trued. Keep your stock cylinders, have them bored to clean them up and put some new pistons and wrist pin bearings in it. Seal that bitch back up and ride it.
  2. Just smear some concrete around all the connections and call it gooder.
  3. My fucking truck did the same thing, leaked about a pound a year for the last 5 years or so, each summer i would just dump a can of 134 in it and it worked fine. This year the charge only lasted me about a month. Soooo its time to do it right. If it were me I would just take the easy way this time and see if it lasts. Like said if you can skate by for a few more years, you will probably end up selling it anyway.
  4. Not sure if you are referring to me or just in general, but no, bike ran fine with 34 PJs. Only issue with the PJs was the somewhat inconsistent idle they seem to suffer from on some bikes. Was just going to get some PWKs but I wanted to try the lectrons and figured what the heck. I currently have 5-2xl in them so i guess ill call dennis and get some 5-3xl and give it a go.
  5. Ok seriously, if you only go once a year dont bother with fronts, knobbies work fine
  6. fronts dont matter much banshees have so much power the front is always in the air anyway.
  7. Ok, i see, in your pics the choke was removed, so i didnt know if it would be that way installed on the bike or not. This definitely could be handy. On gas my bike idled pretty good where the needles were set from packard, however right off idle it bogged. Leaning out the needle fixed that but then it felt lean in the middle. Im assuming this kit would fix that.
  8. Does your choke still work after the installation of this kit?
  9. Gonna have to call bullshit on you winning anything with a serval. All the experts around here say servals suck
  10. God damn, its like bizzaro world around here lately. All these "pro builders" turning out fucked products. sorry man
  11. im not riled up you guys have blinders on. Not everybody wants them ported or high strung. Gets old listening to hill guys talk about how anything besides a cub or bigger is just stupid.. You guys may enjoy spending your whole trip at the bottom of the hill turning power jets and staring into a radar gun. The rest of us will go ride
  12. Hit up member apeik. He has a great set of domes that would match this hack job well. Hell he'd probably donate them to the cause
  13. Why are people so fucking stupid that they can not understand that a high revving motor that feels great ripping through open dunes isnt always the best set up for all riding conditions. Some of us do all kinds of riding. I had a 421 cub on race gas, it was fun at glamis, it sucked fat donkey dick in oregon where you are running in and out of the trees, tight trails and hill shots. Sure i could have put a + 8 or 10 arm on the bike and ran 12 paddle extremes for clilmbing the tree shots, but then it would dune like a fucking turd. I like a dune bike that is shorter and more nimble so a lower powerband that i can get in and out of the throttle and actually turn the thing without constantly slipping the clutch is way better. You fucking hill guys need to pull your head out of your asses and realize not everybody wants a fucking drag bike. Having a motor that is more rideable with the power everywhere is what some of us want. So you say ther serval felt like shit, great, maybe running through huge bowls it did. Take that bike to oregon or ride some trails and i bet money the serval wins hands down. Some people are completely fucking blind to anything besides what they do. Get out a little bit
  14. that last video of it with as cast ports shearers and the 34 tms sound pretty damn good, lifts the front at the slightest bit of throttle
  15. Nonsense man, you payed good money for expertise. You held up your end of the deal, the rest well...
  16. Noss is got nothing to do with this, he clarified that already. The OP said these came straight from Jim.
  17. Jim's always explaining the science behind these motors. Velocity compression ratios and pulse waves and shit. I'm sure he has an explanation for the domes.
  18. Or maybe wisecoBahahahahahahaha
  19. Lets be fair and keep the thread on track. Jim doesnt build the pipes and Gary didnt cut these domes. Im curious as to the theory behind this style of dome. Im sure jim will chime in and let us all know.
  20. He clarified in the shoutbox last night we asked him the same thing. They came from jim.
