  1. I think I paid $30 for these a couple years ago. Never got around to using them. Brand new with gaskets and hardware. How does $20 sound?
  2. Wife bought these for me a while back and couldn't use them. I have serious flexibility/strength problems in my gimp left ankle. I put them on, walked out to the barn, rode 1/2 mile, came back and took them off. They've been sitting in the closet ever since. They are basically brand new. Receipt in the box says she paid $140. What are they worth now, maybe $80? Shipping will be from 47978.
  3. Aside from a rebuild everything is original 95 I think. I'll have to take it apart and check things out. Thanks guys.
  4. She slipped really bad in 3rd yesterday. Previous owner said he put a good clutch in it (maybe white bros?) not too long ago. It has taken a bit of abuse, but can't have more than 25hrs ride time on the clutch. Anything I should check or just replace the thing? Quad has FMFs, reeds/cages, mild p&p. Stock compression. Will a cheap ebay clutch hold up or is it a waste of time/money?
  5. From Oct 2007 issue of Dirt Wheels, page 10 I wonder if it'll talk funny? Maybe a repost. I don't get around here very often.
  6. Ya I'm having float level probs now too. The needle evidently isn't doing it's job because the bowl is overflowing with the engine off. I'm just gonna go buy a new needle and see if that helps.
  7. I cleaned the carb and it definitely helped. Idles fine and does ok at low throttle cruising. Now, another problem that was there before and still is. During a WOT run through the gears, it will completely cut out in the middle of 3rd or 4th (wasn't paying attention). It has a dead throttle until speed drops back down, and then everything is fine again. It's like a governor on a car that cuts fuel or spark. Other than that it runs fine at WOT in the first couple gears--no sputtering or missing. I'm starting to hate this P.O.S. I shoulda bought her a banshee.
  8. Ok I'll clean out the carb good. The air bleed is that screw with the spring on it, correct? I have messed with it and it seems to help some. It does run better with the choke on, but idles really high. Elevation is 650'. Should I really bump the pilot up 1 size? The bike will always be stock, other than taking out the spark arrestor. I have never taken one of these carbs apart. Anything special I should look for? Where is the pilot?
  9. Mods, I put this in this forum so it would get more views. Feel free to move it if need be. Wife's warrior idles and has run like crap since I got it a few months ago. I put a new plug in, but haven't took the carb apart and cleaned it. It wants to die when taking off, or low throttle cruising. Sometimes at WOT it will bog or cut out too. Gas is good new stuff. My friend told me to take the spark arrestor out to give it a little more bottom end but that seems to have made the problem worse. The exhaust pops or kinda backfires a little. Could it be weak ignition? Plug looks ok, not like it's getting flooded. Thanks for any advice you can offer. ADAM
  10. Dude, if you're gonna bash somebody's spelling----at least use proper grammar. :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:
  11. 280s seems great at WOT. I ran her hard for 15 minutes or so and did a plug chop. Good smoke ring at the base, nice even tan at the tip that faded to a light tan down the porcelain neck before the smoke ring at the base. Sound good or should I go a notch richer on the needles? No more bogging or puking when coming to a stop though. Hmmmm. Also at low throttle cruising in 1st gear it either loads up or isn't getting any fuel--one of the two. I was riding slowly along my ditchbank checking out deer rubs from last year (scouting for a good hunting spot lol) and I would have to blip the throttle for a second to smooth her out. I know the bike isn't meant for low speed cruising like that, but it just felt and sounded like crap. Would that be the idle screw I need to adjust?
  12. Idle was fine. Pulled the bowls off and found 260s in there. I'm gonna get a set of 280s and 300s and start by doing a plug read with the 300s.
  13. Not sure what the jetting is right now. Bought the quad this winter and it was running a foam filter with airbox and jetting was great for 40 degree riding (did a plug chop and it was good). I removed the airbox, put on k&n dual pod filters, but the weather was 80 degrees today. I figured the more air would be offset by the hotter air temps as far as jetting goes. The plugs were nice and tan when I pulled them today. Topend has supposedly been redone about 20 hours ago with a port and polish, not sure how much oversize. Still has stock carbs, boyseen reeds, cages. Gas is only about a month old. Clutch is disengaging fine. I rode around for a while, including a few stops, before this started happening and everything was kosher. I'll start with some new plugs and do a read tomorrow. EDIT: somebody asked about pipes. It has FMF fatty pipes and FMF silencers.
  14. Finally got some filters and took her out for the first spring run. It was running fine for about 15 minutes and then I came to a stop to turn around in the road and it wanted to die instead of idling. It just bogged and died when I gave it a twist at idle. Started after a couple kicks and made it back home where it did the same thing as I pulled it into the garage. It felt a little warm so I pulled the plugs and they looked nice and tan. I did notice during the last couple times I wound it out it didn't seem like all the balls were there. Where should I start?
  15. That's a variation of an old trick to get hail damage out of a car. Let it sit outside and bake in the sun for a few hours and then throw a bucket of ice water on it. You'll hear some pop pop pops and it helps get rid of some of it.
