  1. Maybe you can trade springs with the other poster (heading: Works Dual W/rezzi's, too soft HELP) that says his Works Shock springs are too soft...could be a win-win for the both of you!! http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=76856
  2. I was kinda kidding about the results favoring my chambers not so much from my own experience (I heve Fattys, but have never had anything else) but because most people slam them for poor quality and mediocre performance. But seriously...do you think these comparisons may be from a ported motor? That would make the findings a bit more relevent for me becaue my quad is ported and stroked. It also seems that most of the frequent posters here have ported/modded quads. Since I'm still kinda new here, does everyone agree with link #2 as far as Fattys being among the best on this graph? Do you believe this graph to be a true representation of performance? If so, I don't see a tremendous incentive for me to switch...But then again... My 'shee kicks ass and I have them...which makes me wonder that if it is this good with Fattys, how much better would it be with SSTs, T5s, or CPIs? 75% duner/25%dragger and I kinda like NOT burning my leg or swearing when I have to change a plug!! :yelrotflmao: Jay From SanDiego.
  3. I like the 2nd link...it shows my FMF Fatty's are pretty much THE BEST!!! :yelrotflmao:
  4. Thinking of hitting Buttercup on the 21st...Saturday. Anyone going out that way for the weekend? Jay From SanD.
  5. Just got the green light to have an open weekend so I'm thinking of hitting the sand this weekend. I've been to Buttercup and like the big bowels and dunes, but I have not been to Gordon's yet so I'm kinda leaning that way just so I can have a baseline for comparision.... However, if you want to meet up and you prefer BC, I'm cool with that... I've had my shee for what...not even 3 months...and I'm going out for my 5th time!! :woot: Woo-hoo!! Let us know if you are up for it  Jay From SanD.
  6. Tuesday 17 April 6:30PM, 10:30PM, Wednesday 18 April 6:30AM, Saturday 21 April 5:00AM. All Times Pacific ...San Diego  Time!! Listed as "Epic Ride" on Speed Channel...(AKA the Nascar Channel). It should be cool as long as Dave Despain isn't the commentator. That guy bugs me!! Kinda like the Monty Python skit about the boorish announcer that just rambles on and on and on without anything to say that doesn't let anyone get in anything edgewise that just drones on and on and on and..................3 more minutes of this..... Jay From SanD.
  7. http://www.ifilm.com/video/2509265 Sorry about the double post!!!
  8. I got the info from the Yamaha Manual that is in PDF on this Forum...chapter 2, page 9, or also listed as 2-9. I think that the dipstick reading takes priority or is considered the primary method of measurement while the volumetric measurement is considered a secondary method of measurement. The short version is that you first, warm up your engine, remove, wipe and just drop your dipstick into the hole, do not screw it in, pull it out and read it. Kewl, Jay.
  9. I was just looking through a catalog and saw one made by T. M. DesignWorks that is made of plastic that seems to be a somewhat unique design. They claim that since it rests against the ignition cover it is an improved design by dispersing energy forces over a greater area, thereby offering superior protection. I kind of like this one... One negative associated with capitalism is...too many choices!! Thanks again for your shared opinions Jay From SanD.
  10. Maybe the Chrome one is a pneumatic steering damper...or for his "air-ride" seat!!
  11. I don't know about that one...I've seen some pretty steep cliffs... :yelrotflmao:
  12. Laughing so hard...my sides hurt!! LOL!!!
  13. Nope...you are right. The Yamaha Manual says to do it just like you said: unscrew dipstick, wipe off, put it in, pull it out, read oil level. You don't screw it back in..you just let it rest against the case.... I always wondered what was the right procedure to read the correct oil level on the stick!!
  14. Do you prefer one material or manufacturer over another when deciding on which Case Saver to purchase? I was leaning towards the plastic one myself, but there are plenty of Billet Aluminum Savers on (Fe)eBay for $25.00+as well as Modquad Plastic Savers on (Fe)eBay for $29.00+, so I'd like to get the one the consensus determines is material or manufacturer superior. Thanks for your opinion, Jay From SanD.
  15. Good question: your talking about stupid honda guys and you cant even get your topic title right ? ..........................You're..............................Honda.......................can't.......................................right? whos the stupid 1 ? Who's..............one? or 1? With 8 grammatical errors out of 19 words...maybe you answered your own question!! F+ I guess I've been humbled...... Jay From SanD.
  16. He had a nifty little aluminum U shaped bumper mounted on the front of his quad and he tied his tow strap to it...rather than the frame. When the powerband kicked in while I was pulling him in second gear, it just yanked off the top of his pretty polished bumper right above the mounting bolts while roosting him bad!! At least he got it started though... I need to carry my camera with me from now on... Jay From SanD.
  17. You can't go wrong with Yamalube 2R mixed at 40 to 1. Everyone has their favorite, but personally I'm not a fan of the Castor Base Oils that a lot of the racers use becaue it separates and easily gums up your carbs if not drained after use. I run it in my Banshee as well as my dirt bike (2000 YZ250) and after pulling the YZ cylinder to replace the piston after 3 years of hard use, the piston still looked new!! No carbon build up and I could still see the fine machine marks on the piston after many, many hours of thrashing!! While there are some trendier choices based on how cool it smells, in the real world...Yamalube 2R works GREAT!! Just my opinion. Jay From SanDiego.
  18. Does anyone know what a Skat-Trak Hauler 21x12x8x 8 paddle tire weighs? I'd like to find out if the Sand Haulers I picked up are much heavier. Thanks, Jay From SanD.
  19. The funny part was he actually gave consideration to my joke suggesting that he mount a TOW HOOK!! :yelrotflmao:
  20. Brain Fart......Topic was supposed to be ELECTRIC START QUADS SUCK!!!!! But the Title gotcha to look...
  21. I was at Glamis yesterday and this dude can't get his POS hOnDa 4fiddy started because the Bendix Gear won't engage. Of course, he doesn't know this because he is a HonDuh rider..he just knows it's "fuckin' broke"... I ripped off his front bumper giving him a pull start ...Oops...Bummer Dude... 300 bucks for a new starter...what a deal!! I told him that was the most HorsePower his bike will ever feel!!!
  22. Yup...They blow!! Not only is their customer service shitty, but their sales staff suck too!! They are down the street from me (15 miles) and I wanted to toss my shee on a dyno to see what I had, so I gave them a call. 10 minutes of muzak while on hold was too much for me to take!! To second my opinion of them, I went there with a friend that wanted to pick up an '07 450 se and watched him get the run around. He was a CASH CUSTOMER and they tried to play him like they were used car salesmen. Let me "talk to the manager" in secret...let me "see the cash"...let me show it to the manager...bla, bla, bla. My friend had a sales ad from an actual authorized Yamaha dealer (Yamaha of Hollywood) and told this to the sales rep on the phone before he told us to come to their shop in Poway. We told him the price, model, year, had proof of price for the 450 he wanted... After claiming they would match the price over the phone...BIG SUPRISE...they claim we can't do that!! I told the CSR to admit that is wasn't that they couldn't, but wouldn't!! SCREW ALBA!!!
  23. I just put some 48s in it and it sounds WAAAYYY better just revving it up in my garage!! My mistake on the original pilot numbers....they were 55s, not 52s. :geek: Gonna try it out on Friday at Glamis!! Thanks for the help guys.... Jay From SanD.
