I have to agree with Snop. I think your porting and pipes are more of a determining factor than where you are going to ride. Since Keihin doesn't make 30PWK's, my vote is for their 28PWK carb with your setup. A couple of 28's will easily outflow your single carb setup. If you are gonna get different pipes and get Kevin to upgrade your porting to dune/hillshooter, I'd opt for 33PWK's. I run 'em and like 'em. Maybe call Kevin and see what combination he recommends to compliment his porting.

E-brake is a thing of the past.... I'm thinking maybe a piece of sand got past the boot and is not letting the piston retract. Never having taken a rear caliper apart, if anyone has tips for me...feel free to post em!! I 'spect I can check the manual though...... :geek:

I was riding today in the sand (Glamis  ) and my rear caliper locked up the brake to the rotor. So now me rotor is this nice shade of tempered...the caliper was so hot that water boiled off of it!! What would cause this to happen and what do I need to do to fix it? I just ripped off the rear brake system so I could continue on with my ride.... Thanks, Jay.

Some of my AZ duner friends are gonna be at wash 4 from Wednesday >> on. I just haven't decided if I'm eating bird in San Diego or Glamis yet so I'll either be out there Wed night or Friday around noon. We should meet up at the store at 10.00AM on Saturday for a group photo!! PM me if you wanna trade out cell #'s. Jay from SanD.

And to think I whine about having to shell for 45 gallons of unleaded for the MoHo to get me there......
-
Maybe they have a credit card that gives them a price break. My Discover card gives me 5% cash back on gas purchases...that was $.20 off per gallon when it was 4bux. And Chase gives a 3% discount on fuel too.

A weather search for the 92227 zip will get it done.....

I hear ya. The cost of manufacturing costs per unit goes up as the price per unit comes down.... Still, 16 BILLION profit over 90 days is a pretty strong indicator that there isn't a lot of overheat relative to the finished product!! I'd bet the top 10% salaries equal or surpass the bottom 80% of the hourly.

If gas was $4.15 when oil was $144 a barrel, then you can round it off to $4.00 @ $140.00. That translates to $1.00 @ $35.00. So if oil is $55.00, shouldn't gas be $1.57 right now?? Fukn Crooks. 16 BILLION this quarter profit AFTER paying for operational costs. They need a tax break..... :shoothead: ::

The thing is...if you have standard powercore 2's, they won't work with the SST's. SST's use a proprietary silencer. The length and diameter is different than a standard FMF Fatty. Either pick up a set of Fatty's and use your silencers or buy both pipes and silencers if you want the SST's. You can get info from their website: http://www.fmfracing.com/default_detail.as...=atv&cat=99 http://www.fmfracing.com/default_detail.as...HEE&cat=112

Trying to figure out pump gas/100 octane.
jayzx10r replied to Skittle's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Welcome to the HQ!! You gotta give it a compression test. I think the baseline for premium pump to a 50/50 mix with race fuel is about 155lbs. I have 165lbs and I mix 50/50 with 100LL AVGAS. -
I don't know how this works, but: If this guy walked into his local DMV with whatever paperwork he had for the Banshee, wouldn't the DMV forward notice to the mechanic (or whoever has the lein) that there was movement on the title and afford him an opportunity to collect within a certain time frame? And after that time passed, wouldn't the DMV give up a clean title if their wasn't a response? And if he did respond, this guy would receive a bill for work completed, which could be paid off. So it seems to me that if the guy that currently has the Banshee could be handed a post dated deposit check for something less than the trailer itself is worth only, and give this guy the banshee and trailer so he could initiate DMV transfer. Depending on the outcome of whether the leiner responds or not would determine how the agreed upon sales price funds were distributed. If it was more than the 'shee was worth, cancel payment on the check and walk away. Might as well let the state do the work for you if you really like this banshee that much.....

I have a set of the PWK33's and the slide goes ALL the way up out of view!! In fact, that is how I sync my carbs... All the way open at the lip is a point I can repeat on both carbs for perfect balance. I'm sure no one will disagree with me on the sync thing........uh~huh.

Hello...welcome to the HQ!! It is gonna take a lot of effort and modification to make this work for you. It can be done, but as was stated before...there are parts you need to install that you don't have. Ebay is a good source for what you need, or a crashed out RZ350 would be a good find for you too. Maybe the easiest thing woul be to find a set of Banshee cylinders and voila!! You can hit the trail!! The question is...do you have a Banshee or RZ350 bottom end? I believe the stator, gearing, oil injection pump, and other small stuff is different between the two so maybe you should figure that out first.

I went with the 20cc because 155 is about the point you mix race/pump fuel. With the 20's you have a significant improvement in compression over stock and no worries over fuel quality variance or elevation changes in contrast to the 19's which are right at the upper range of compression. My $.02.

I can let you know after next weekend....they are new!! I had FMF Fatty's and was looking for a bit more overrev. Halloween at Glamis!!! Will be a good time to check 'em out.... Just running them up the street left a very positive impression.

What dirt bikes are good these days?

I blew right by the 5'3" thing.... I know you can remove seat padding or get a new low cut seat and get lower rise bars too... The YZ250 seat is 39 inches...gotta remember you are gonna sag the suspension a little bit. It's at least 3" less set at race sag. My bud Dave rides a YZ250 and he is 5'5" and 140lbs...he start it pretty easily. Mine never takes more than 2 kicks....unless it's after a crash. Then it takes 3!! The KZ250f has the lowest seat height at 37.5". The 4pokes's are harder to kick start based on my limited experience with them....especially when hot. -
I ride sand only at Glamis, Buttercup, Gordon's too and I run a +2 Lonestar. Since I am usually at/near the front I'd have to say that I have more power than many but not all and I'm not wheels in the air ready to flip over!! That being said, I think the shorter the better!! If you dune, you want the shortest you can run for handling. If you drag, you need the hookup. If you do both, the partial bit of a second you may lose dragging on off the line is worth the trade off it because you gain it back 1000 times back while duning. If you have uncontrollable wheelies at launch...added inches are not a good substitution for technique. My vote is not more that +2.

Call me old fashioned, but I'll take a 2-stroke any day!! Still has a great power to weight ratio and it is hard to fault a YZ250. The 450s have more power but in the dirt, my YZ is perfect for me...and I'm like 20-25lbs more than you. If I rode in the sand only though, it would be CR500 all the way!! Even though I hate the sound of the 4pokes with a vengence, if it were better to me, I'd buy one...it's just that they aren't. I rode my friend's '06 Honda450 and it had monster power...actually more than I wanted. But the thing I didn't like was the gyroscopic effect from all the spinning parts...big honkin' crank, cam, valves, springs, just a lot more stuff in motion...plus the weight is higher up, raising the CG. If a 125 2 stroke works well for you, a 250 4-p would be good. My YZ has a lot more power and a way better powerband than a 4poke 250. To make it faster you have to do a LOT of work ($$$) to make it quick. Why bother....  YZ!!  Ready to go, out of the box. Maybe throw on a Fatty and call it a day!! -
Now THAT is some serious Fukn BullShite right there.... I'd gladly the trade military spending $742.36 each for 37 Ball Peen Hammers to move your family out with you. Anyone wanna trade cell numbers...PM me. I'm gonna be out near pad 2, 2.5, or Gecko Loop. It depends where I can find a kinda flat parking spot for 3 RV's. My 80's MoHo doesn't have self levelers....I gotta rough it!! Leaving San Diego on Thursday evening showing up around midnight. Prolly just find a camp spot Friday morning. Jay From SanD.

I can't vouch for the accuracy of this cross-ref but I've seen it in a few different places so I posted it a week ago. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=102160 If anyone knows it to be waaayyy off, do me a favor and get the topic removed, otherwise it would be a good source of info.
