alot of good ideas, I just got my new rockets last week and I love em. My buddy is puttin a set of shearers on his shee and we have almost identical setups so we will see this spring which pipe puts it to the ground better... I think the silencers on the rockets is the only thing that really needs attention. The pipes are great but the silencers would be so much better with stainless allen head bolts instead of rivets and the welds around the mounting bracket are a little sloppy... also did anyone elses silencers end up uneven, on mine one of my silencers is higher than the other. im gunna try to adjust the bolts some and get it to be less noticeable but I still dont really like it... Oh ya and some decals. I need a nice " Rocket custom pipes inc." sticker for my fenders...

CPI or ROCKET? Im gunna buy and need opinions
nickxc replied to nickxc's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Thanks... Im still working on it but I think I like the rockets. They are supposed to have almost an identical power curve to the cpi and they are about the same price and I like the orriginal look of em... -

Yup. Thanks guys. good info... -
Im gunna buy new pipes I am selling my sst's right now and I had my heart set on rockets but I still love the cpi's. Who has rockets?? cpi?? What would you get if you ran wide open roads and dunes most of the time. My mods are in my sig. I am still leaning on the rockets but I wanted one last batch of opinions before I shell out the cash... Thanks guys...

thats prolly fine. I know alot of guys run at 50:1 I dont know much about the type of oil you are useing. I personally run amsoil dominator at 32:1 alot of guys run this oil at 50:1 like the bottle says you can but I dont mind useing a little more oil just cause it burns so clean you dont even notice it and oil is cheaper than parts. plus I run down the road wide open alot so I dont mind having a little more oil to my motor... Personally if you arnt having any problems just keep running it like that. or if you are concerned just start running alittle more oil maybe a 40:1 or sumthin. Really your call...

I think that salesman is on crack. I have ridden a few yfz 450s and a couple trx 450r and lots and lots of 400ex over the years and Id say that the 450's compare very closely to the 400ex. as far as ease to use. They are much faster and better handleing than the 400ex. If he is comfortable on the ergos of the 450 than thats the quad for him. They are much easier to ride than a banshee and are just as easy to ride aas a 400ex Id say. Its all his call. the 4 strokes all have easy to ride style of smooth power.
-
If your not out for the fastest quad on the market then a 400ex is a good quad. they are reliable, smooth and easy to ride, they handle and ride good. If you want to go fast then you gotta get a 2 stroke imo but if not a 400ex is a good quad...

ya really, Its a nice shee but if I had millions Id be hittin a totally chrome banshee...
-
if its the shee in the pics. I would personally jump all over it. it looks like a well kept banshee with a slight carb problem. I never buy a 2 stroke other than brand new with out a compression check anyway. if you can get your hands on a compression guage put that on the motor and kick it over a bunch and make sure your compression is good. if it is I would buy that banshee.

i didnt mean anything racist or offensive, just what i see on tv and stuff.trust me, i got nothing wrong with black people, i was just kidding. and who says all his friends are black, im talking about the rap community. i got alot of white kids around here that talk just like that. 280348[/snapback] I gotta say I hear ya on that. im not racest. I have lots of black friends and I like black music but I do hear the english language chopped up alot by the younger generation. not blacks but the younger generation of everyrace... I dont take offense to what you said and I dont think it was any big deal...

not a problem man, no one knows how to jet when they are born. its easy once you get it. your air screw and pilot jet control the idle - 1/8 throttle, from roughtly 1/8 to 3/4 is controlled by your needle clip position and your needle jet(usually you dont have to change a needle jet) and 3/4 to full throttle is controlled by the size of your main jet. figure out where your problem is and that is what you have to change. you said just off idle it dies so I would see if you are way too right on your pilot. try adjusting your airscrew, then go to the needle and see if that is causeing the problem, are those plugs from a WOT stop or are they just riding and looking like that... They are way rich by the looks but a rich condition in one circuit can hide a lein condition in another so you have to make sure you are rich all over and not just way way rich on the mains and lein on something else. look for a post by benbb and check out the "unofficial bansheehq jetting faq" click on that. it has everything you want to know about jeting a banshee... if you have any other problems check out everything2stroke.com They are great and will help you out and you can pm me of you want me to explain anything better to you. pm me here or on everything2stroke. im on both sites about everyday...
