  1. Are you using stock tires? Or knobby tires I mean
  2. Need to do a leakdown test on it. 50 pilot seems big for it to still hang on idle. Race gas or pump gas I'm guessing?
  3. :rotflmao: Came across this looking at dmx stuff on google. Good shit
  4. Got a 421 cub. Had 2 Wiseco 573 pistons that went in it during a rebuild, and had one cylinder go down. Buddy had a 421 cub that had some Wiseco 573's in it that were only ran a few passes then tore down and went to a builder and got some different piston. Well I just figured I'd run one of his pistons. But the pistons that came out of his motor had a small machined ring below the bottom ring groove. It was maybe .005" taken off all the way around the piston. Anyone know of a builder that does this? Think it will be an issue being a different weight than the other piston? I don't think the ring itself will, but I'm now worried that the piston may be machined somewhere else. We looked them over real good and they didn't appear to be different, hoping someone here knows of a builder that does this, and knows if they do any other machining on them. Here's a pic of it, the machined section is between the red lines.
  5. I've used gasoline, diesel, carb cleaner, car wash, anything really. Depends on how dirty they are.
  6. I've duned a 421. It's do-able, but it gets tiring after awhile. Nothin' better than pinning the gas and scooting, but it does get a little old after awhile.
  7. Downshifting is generally not good on overrides. Will it last a few times? Possibly.
  8. http://www.powderbuythepound.com/SOLAR_RAIN_-DARK_CHROME_TRANS.html Not very colorful, but a badass color.
  9. What's everyone's opinion on the # of threads on the compression tester being the same as the plugs? Most of the testers have 1/2 the threads that a plug do.

  11. PM austinoneal. I think he has a couple extra sets and might be up to trade.
  12. You can pull the clutch actuator rod completely out of the case? There should be a "clip" and bolt holding it down. It may not be down all the way, and the rod could be stopping it from being down where it should be. I'd tear the clutch down to see what's goin on.
  13. I don't buy the "running good oil" making it ok to run at 50:1. But to each his own, not my motor. And if it's worked for you, more power to ya.

  15. Must make tuning pretty easy now. Just have to get through the small list of to-do's with the build first lol
  16. 32:1 Would you run your car with just a little less oil?
  17. Gotcha, just seems like for a motor that big to run bad, it'd be stuttering or sputtering or something.
  18. Try switching the carbs to see if it helps. If it's sluggish through the entire RPM range something big is going on. Does it run worth a darn? Or run really bad.
  19. I always launch in 2nd, so the gearing is set up for this
