  1. Hey guys I got my noss head and it says to check the squish clearance. LOL I feel a bit foolish but how do you do that? Thanks Kevin.
  2. hey guys what kinda torque specs do you tighten your noss cool heads to? do you do them to the same torque and bold pattern as the stock head? Thanks Kevin
  3. Hehe I am kinda a noob at this stuff so i am still kinda learning the ropes. But i am sure in this case it was the cheap tester i bought If it was a snap on i woulda got a better reading LOL it kinda sucks livin here in the boonies everything costs a fortune and there is no selection of tools so i have to drive 2 hours just to get to a small city and have a decent selection. maybe i will have to invest in some micrometers and telescopic guages so i can measure the cylynders up. My machine i have at 105 PSI so i assume that is a bit better. Hehe i am not too sure what i wanna do now. If i do decide to tear it appart and take a look inside i am thinkin i might send it away for a port job on it. Anyone tell me what i could expect from a port with a stock stroke and bore? Is there much in the way of overheating or reliability issues or faster wear when you get one done. I been kinda reading the archives and not too many people have a ported machine with stock stroke etc... Thanks Kevin
  4. LOL yeah it is a cheaper one, not a really cheap one I will try to get another one and test it with that as well. I will warm it up and try it again, I never thought of holding the throttle wide open. I will do that! I was also reading in the manual to soak the air filter with 10W 30 oil and before it was done with the yamaha air filter oil which was fairly thick like gear oil. I will start with that and go from there! Thanks Kevin
  5. Thanks for the replys guys. I think i will go with the noss head cause of the fact that i am at such a high elevation and it would be good for me to be able to change the domes say if i ever decided to go riding down in the sand dunes or at sea level. Also i am getting about 90 PSI compression in the cylynders when i do a compression test, does that sound about right for a motor with only pipes and reeds and no other mods at a elevation of about 3100 ft? It is a fairly new banshee maybe 20 hours on the motor. Thanks Kevin
  6. anyone know what kind of compression i should be shooting for? Is there a downside to having a higher compression?
  7. Hello all i have a banshee with pro circut platnum pipes and boysen rad valves with a stock motor and was wondering if a noss head with 21 or 22 cc domes would help get me much more power and how much more power i could possibly expect to get and if it would perform good with the pipes and the reed valves. I was also wondering if there is a majior disadvantage to having a head with domes as compared to the stock head which is one piece i believe? Thanks for the advice!
  8. so derfnigel do you go quaddin often? is there many racin quad owners around there in whitecourt? I was supposed to go ridin there with the ol ex girlfriend LOL but i never did get the chance to go. What kinda riding do you do there is it mostly wide open? Here everybody seems to only have the utility quads and putt around on trails. Come on there has to be more people from western canada here LOL!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Oh yeah. How do you like your toomey T5? Where did you get them? I been thinkin of trying a set of them but i don;t even know where you can get a set other than ordering them from the states which kinda makes me nervous with all the duties and the extra charges that can get added onto the price.
  10. Wow someone actually replied LOL. I am from Lone Butte in BC. I go to alberta occasionally but I only went quaddin once there when i was in Slave Lake. Where do you go riding in alberta? As for the mods i have, I have pro circuit platnum pipes with 296 silencers, elka rezzy shocks (the best investment, made most noticable difference) GYT-R ignition module and air filter, 200 W stator, NGK iridium plugs, renthal handlebars. LOL i have a boost bottle somewhere and I have a lightened flywheel that i machined down stored somewhere (i didn;t find it made enough difference to make it worthwile to leave it on there, mind you i coulda taken alot more material off but i didn;t wanna screw something up). I dunno it was a ricky stator improved flywheel and I thought i would try machining it since i had it as a spare, it was crazy i turned a taper and put it on that in the lathe and took the dial indicator and it was running out .015 so i cleaned it up nice and took about .2 of a inch off the outside diameter. it seems to run nice and smooth but i noticed the stock has drill holes to balance it. I imagine to make up for the keyway. well i guess that is enough babbaling on and on LOL any one else out there?
  11. Hello was wondering if there were any riders from BC or Alberta Canada floating around here. I live in centeral BC and am always looking for people to go riding with.
