45 hp on a ported shee sounds low to me, i was told to expect 60-70 on mine with a agressive dune port by quite a few people But you know how that goes. I bet your pulling in the 50's atleast.

If you have no pref to dune or drag, most people will say go ITP Sand Stars, I had them on my shee and there a blast and reasonably priced, I recently switched to haulers and for the most people besides needing a little more body movement to kick it around there not much worse for duning

I would say that 35mm is far to large of a carb but thats not the reason why you lost, I got my ass handed to me buy a 2007 stock yfz with a 70lb kid on it. They are decently quick

First kick normally, sometimes second. My wifes shee is a hard ridden 96 and it starts third kick

Yeh dont worry to much, 400ex's are about the most unfast bikes out there, I had one until 2 weeks ago, it was my wifes who is to scared to get out of 3rd on my shee and she said the 400 wasnt fast enough so we traded for a shee.

If your bogging off the line your not giving it enough throttle, I hold my throttle pinned and dump it with a little feathering, When I did my timing advance and v-force reeds, the power delivery of the bike was alot different, whether is gave me a bunch of HP who knows, but the seat of the pants dyno approved.

That shit sucks man, I was just reading about that big layoff coming for country wide a few days ago, sucks it had to be one of the fellow banshee lovers! Of all the 450's I beat the 450r more consistantly than all the others with just my bolt on banshee, +4 timing and milling the head will get you off the line quicker.

I dont know alot of about banshee's just enough to get by, But what I am noticing is these big drag bikes have quite a few quirks and stuff and judging from the kind of questions your asking your gonna have a hell of time trying to keep up with that bike. Just my 2 cents!

Well I had an interesting day, Went to meet a guy at the dunes to trade my wifes 400ex for his banshee, I got there abit early so I decided to go on one last ride on the thing. So I decide to hit up some trails which I never ride because my banshee sucks so bad in them but since I was on the 400 I figured what the hell. Well about 15 feet into the trail I am coming around a corner and bang guy on a bike right there hauling ass. Completly mangled the bumper smashed the plastics broke the headlight out, Put the handle bar right in my gut as I was going over. All in all I ended up with a nasty bruise/abrasion on my stomache and I think I pulled my pelvic muscle. Funny thing is the guy who hit me not a scratch on his bike, but he broke his hand. And to top it off, The guy traded me anyways I just took alittle less cash on the deal so it worked out! Edit: If it hadnt of been for the bumper the frame would of been totalled so I am putting my bumper back on my bike tonight, I dont care how stupid it looks.

Wife is tired of being left in the dust on her 400ex, Going to pick up a banshee tommorow for her, It has FMF Fatties on it now but there is terrible shape, I am gonna pick up some brand new ones for her as well, Do you think I will need to check the jetting going to a brand new set?

I dont know your elevation but I would say with 20cc domes with no timing advance your more than ok to run 93 Premium, But as everyone else will tell, Check your compression.
