  1. Well, we switched out the 10w30 synthetic & went back to the synthetic trans fluid. We had to put 90 millisecond shift kill in, our max setting. It still didn't want to shift into the non cut gears 5 & 6. We had the same problem with Type F trans fluid many years ago. I also did the normal clutch inspection/maintenance & decided on some changes. We had zero heat in the steels. So, I decided to lower the base pressure 24 lbs. We didn't make that change just based off the inspection, but what it was doing at the track also.
  2. Come on Tabatha, you already set the world on fire with your BAKO non racing skills.
  3. Sorry, somehow I missed or forgot this question. We run heads-up, index & bracket.
  4. What's going on Paul? You thinking about building another quad or doing a car? We still have some work to do with this new combo! Don't be a stranger, Bryan
  5. ^^^^Someone has a clue!^^^^ Angel always seems to hurt some feelings & yes he does better than the vast majority; tuning & racing. A good many have a hard time going sub 4 with bigger than a 421.
  6. The only one (running a Hayes) on here that I know was Wheelman Chassis & he hasn't been on since Sept 14. You might try contacting http://www.haysmachineworks.com/
  7. Motor is stock crank/rod & bored .040.
  8. Tabatha, nothing but crickets to that question. It's easy for you to point fingers, but in reality you should be pointing them at yourself. Stay away from track racing, you are clueless! I see the reasons why you don't. You at BAKO, needs to be changed from "TSS" to TS (Top Shit) for your results.
  9. You were there, you should have just asked him. What was your track accomplishments at BAKO?
  10. Stock stroke, don't know the rod & don't remember the bore. He has so many different builds going on, I can't remember everything. I have a hard time remembering my own shit!
  11. Angel went 3.36 last year on a 300cc bigger triple. The PSDA record for limited 0-1325 is 3.351. The 707 is a little slow, but had a broken crank. Oh well. The 421 appears slow, but all that matters is it get the job done! Wins in the 401-475 class & 476-575 class. There's more to a race than the fastest/quickest quad. 350 1st time out & barely got finished for the race. Not much more to say about that.
  12. Why assume that? It's not the fastest track, but it's not the slowest either.
  13. Angel is a great builder & tuner also. Hats off to another great job from my son. all motor results ........ no bottle all weekend 3.39..... 1032cc/fastest of the event, if I remember right. 3.65 .....707cc 3.79......421cc 3.994.... 350cc
  14. Got the OK from the boss lady to get the Billet Cases. If we can get them in time we are hoping to make Gilbert, LA. The pipes are out Shearer's getting the back cone redone. Lots of work to get done & probably not much time after we get the cases.
  15. Thanks! I don't post too many time slips (slip matches video), but this will give a baseline to the new combo. Speaking of baseline, that's exactly what we did with this set-up. Threw a conservative baseline tune-up in all aspects. The only thing we worked on was: checking the plugs, wheelie bar height & tire pressure. Just to give an idea, with them minor changes our best 60' was a 1.43. So, with them minor adjustments the 60' improved from the time slip.
  16. 1-4, man. 5 & 6 you must have heard the shift kill for the last 2 shifts. We had a butt load of milli-seconds in it.
  17. I forgot we are making a gear change also. Going up 1 tooth in the front & rear.
  18. We are making some changes for the next race. The tires we ran on was from 2008, LOL! Below are the new ones. They are the same size, 20x8x10. We were shifting at 9,000 & plan on raising it 400-500 rpm. Plus, we are making some adjustments in the clutch lever to quicken our reaction times
  19. Based on your information given, you need around a +8 - +10. While we don't have your weight. We weigh 220 lbs. - 240 lbs. dressed out. We started with a +8 & wheelie bar. The best thing we did was switching to a +14 & we still use the wheelie bar. Even with them length swingarms, you will need to do clutch tuning to keep the front end down with no wheelie bar. The best thing you can do is do your research before spending money
  20. The most forgiving trans out there is the 1-4 manual 5/6. That's what we use 99% of the time. We only put in the 1-6 when running heads up & some times we don't even do that. The shift forks need to be changed way too often.
  21. We have been running asphalt since 2004 with around 1,000 runs. Most builder's don't know shit about asphalt. I don't know who your builder is & don't care. He's wrong for telling you to run a 2-5 & I would hate to here what else he's telling you. Do a search of my threads, Tedder's & sleeper06. That should give you a good start on what's needed for asphalt.
  22. Hmmm....A 2-5 for 1/8 mile asphalt? Not the right trans.
