    Check that air filter foam good, theyll deteriorate with age & fall apart, just by touching them. Make sure its good, so it doesnt suck all that foam in!

    Hard to tell in the pic, but there are drain holes in the case. Look at it from the bottom & see if its in line with what u r talking about. Most people discover it when carbs leak & it drips off of one of the bottom case nuts

    It won't stay running at all or just when you try to put it in gear? Fuel tank vent plugged? Jet'd for cold? Rat nest built in that nice warm exh. After putting it up? Gotta find out if it's spark or fuel

    Waiting on leakdown test, as in parts to come? Id start there ( shoulda done that on bench but) Crossover tube back on? did u go through carbs? Carb slides are returning all the way? rebuilt as in took apart n re assembled after fixing trans, or new build?
