  1. I ran 19cc domes at 2000-2500 ft elevation with +4 deg of timing. I had 150/150 psi compression with my snap on compression gauge. I ran it on 90 or 91 octane fuel with no problems.
  2. Come on. What is cooler than telling all your friends your an Amsoil and you get the oil at cost.
  3. Yep it will plug right in to your banshee's wiring harness. The lh switch has 3 plugs. A big one with multiple wires(for the head lights). And a black, black/white stripe wires. These have bullit conectors. These two wires are for the thumb operated kill switch. The black wire is a ground. The black/white stripe wire goes to the cdi. When you ground the black/white stripe wire it kills the engine.
  4. If it happend in the baja 1000 it would almost be great since the spectators on purposly dig holes to try to crash the trucks and buggies. If anything you feel bad for the driver of the truck.
  5. That is what happnes when the crowed keeps getting closer and closer. Lets go watch the trucks jump, but I want to be really close so I am part of the action. It is one thing if your watching sprint car races and a car climbs the concreet wall and fence and lands in the grand stand. How many staff members would it take to properly patrol a 200 mi desert race. There isnt always going to be some one to tell grown adults what to do. They might have to think on there own and that doesnt always work out to well.
  6. I dont run any oil because I like how clean it burns. No plug fouling here.
  7. A honda CR kill switch will plug right in to the banshee's black, white/black wires.
  8. Just cause the plugs look good doesnt mean your jetted right. You could be lean on the main and rich on the needle. 80-90% of your driving is done inbetween 1/4-3/4 throttle (on the needle) that 10-20% of the time your on the main jet it could have been lean doing damage. You might not nessessarly been riding at wot enough to change the plug color. It was ethire an air leak or a jetting issue.
  9. 1800 bucks sounds like a project. I wouldnt have even expected it to hold together. If you spent 3-4k and had that happen it would have been a little different story. Ethire way slapping a used top end on with out measureing them to see if they need bored or not is just asking for trouble. This is why people say banshee's are not reliable. A slapped together banshee will have the reliablity of a slapped together banshee.
  10. that is the difference between 2 strokes. They run super hard and mean right before they blow up.
  11. How do you plan on keeping the oxygen sensors alive in the oily exhaust pipes?
  12. x2 since you use twice as much fuel so now your at $320 dollars for the same amount of riding. I get race fuel for $370 a 55 gallon drum. So it is 50 bucks more and you dont have to purge, and can drive twice as far on 1 tank of fuel. Switching to methanol for the 10% hp gain is the way to go. Doing it because it is cheaper is just pulling the blinders over you own eyes.
  13. A stock piped and stock ported banshee can break the key. It is an off set key so where the two key halfs meet is thin vs an oem key that is thicker because it is not ofset. the off set key's strenght or thickness is just the small part between the keys edges.
  14. Yep projected tip spark plug. That way it hangs down in the combustion chamber a little farther instead of being recessed in the dome. Then I just side cap the ground strap. Pic's of each will load off to the side. Projected tip. (BPR8ES) http://www.sparkplugs.com/results_cross.asp?pid=bpr8es Standard tip (BR8ES) http://www.sparkplugs.com/results_cross.asp?pid=br8es&x=34&y=19
  15. Yep it is a inconvenience now just to pull the key out and replace it with a oem one. It will be much easer to do on the bench when you tearing the motor apart to replace the crank cause the key sheared and mess the crank taper up.
  16. I Jet Hot'ed my sparks pipe on my raptor. It dropped the skin temp of the pipe 200-250 deg. They coat the inside and out side so you getting double ceramic insulation.
  17. Yea I dont get why people put them there. It is like having the ports in a V8's intake larger than the ports in the cylinder head. Or having exhaust ports in the head larger than the header tubes. You dont want edges hanging out in the air stream. If you cant make them the same size it is better for flow to go from a small port to a larger port, not the other way around.
  18. Jeff at FAST sells a magnum basket at a good price. He sells a lot of them with no problems. Give him a call. I run a hindson because I got it for 115 bucks new. Other wise I would be running a magnum.
  19. Your fine up to 220-230 or so. I wouldnt go over 230 deg f. You dont want to run to cold ethire. Find at what temp the bike normally runs at and jet it when it is at that temp. That way you will have optimal perfomance. If you jet it when the eninge is not fully warmed up then when it does warm up it will be rich.
  20. Nothing like selling a bike cause the fuel tank is empty. It is a total loss, the gas cap is on to tight so I have to sell it.
  21. Octane boosters lables are misleading. They say that 1 bottle added to 10-12 gallons of fuel raises octane 6-8 points. What they dont tell you is that it takes 10 points to go up 1 octane number. It would take a lot of bottles of octane booster to get to 105. Race fuel is the best octane booster. If you blended 3 gallons of 91 octane with 1 gallon of 110 octane you would have 95.75 octane fuel. Now compair how many bottles of octane booster it would take vs the price of 1 gallon of race fuel.
  22. If it is oem there should be a DENSO stamp and some kind of part number.
  23. Post up some pic's. I though most have small dimples drilled for ballancing. I find it hard to believe that your's is perfict and required no ballancing. Are they any markings, stampings, or engravings on it? josh
  24. Isnt ebay's customer service great. You can always rely on them to help you out.
