  1. Sweet, that is the kind of tip I am looking for. josh
  2. That is Lock tight. RTV isnt a thread sealer. It is just Silicone. The only thing I use on my cool head is teflon tape where the studs screw in to the cylinders. The O rings seal the head up.
  3. That is why I went with the Cascade Pancake. It has the flats on the out side where you adjust it. You dont have to assemble it and set the adjustment. Then tear it appart to tighten it down and reassemble it. Cascade Innovations Pancake LINK
  4. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I am a full fender man. I like the look. I was hoping they will go on with out cutting but figured I would have to trim a little. What do you people use to do the trimming?
  5. Roll the motor over with the head off and see if the pistons come out of the cylinders a little. They should come out about 2mm more than usual.
  6. Do you have to trim the front fenders for CPI pipes? I cant remember if you have to or not. I figure that i might have to notch the finders so they will clear the pipes.
  7. I put one of those Motion Pro Terminator clutch cables on. It has a teflon or some kind of plastic coating on the inside to make it pull better. I dont know if It actually helps because I went from all 6 hd springs to all stock springs with a lockup, terminator clutch cable, and asv c5 lever all at once.
  8. Cheapest place your going to find them is Rocky Mountain. 499 for chrome and free shipping. Toomey T5's LINK
  9. you got the liquid filled version
  10. www.cascadeinnovations.net aslo has them. The thing with cascade is they get there pipes in the bare steel version and have them chrome plated to there standard. Cacade's standard it going to be the top cut. I have herd some people dont like the cheap chrome that the shearer's come with.
  11. Yea you could use it on the cylinders too. Just make sure you wd40 the cylinder sleeves after your done rinsing with water. Or if your going to bore them then dont worry about it.
  12. Here is a link to the guy that originally started selling the kit. He says it works with both AC and DC current. Two wires to the sensor. A pos and neg from the gauge, and a wire for the light. You could just wire the light to the pos wire and it would be on all the time. JT Atv Temp Gauge
  13. I would use air craft remover paint stripper. You will have a much smoother finish. The bead blasting is going to make a rough finish.
  14. If you wanted to run a fan you will have to relocate the steering stem. Here is the temp gauge I run. Mine is just a mechanical automotvie temp gauge. There is a guy that makes a kit that usese and electric gauge. I would probably went that rout if I didnt alread have this set up. That way to remove the gauge you just unplug the wires instead of having to take the capaliary tube out and drain the coolant every time. Electric Temp Gauge LINK Mechanical Temp Gauge LINK
  15. I would run CPI big bores. Cascade's web page says they are for 465 and larger bores. With the nikasil you take and acid on a rag and wipe the aluminum that transfers to the cylinder. Unless you really gouge it up. josh
  16. That is just what I am thinking. I am having the same thing going on with my pickup. The splines on the gear where the yoke goes on the rear end. Keep on going through yokes because the splines on the gear are shot.
  17. You are probably going to need to replace the axle too. The splines on the axle are probably worn so they are wearing out the hubs as well.
  18. I am running a Barnett Carbon Fiber clutch. I would have gottne the FAST clutch if I would have known about it before I got this one. I have been going on a couple of years with no problems. The Fast clutch uses fibers from a yamaha street bike.(i believe) Factory designed to hold power from 150 HP+ crotch rockets.
  19. So if you rented them for 4 days then you would almost have the set bought. Jim use to sell 20X10X10 ITP sand start mounted on douglas wheels for 150 a pair.
  20. There will be 7 people coming down with us. I am the only BHQ member though. Me and my GF My Bro and his GF A Friend and his GF And another friend. josh
  21. Any body know why Pro Design's kit has two brown orings for the domes while the others come will all black orings. I figuer that Pro Design's kit has 2 viton or high temp orings while the others just use a regular o ring.
  22. Here is a pic of mine installed.
