  1. Yea dont blast the crap out of them. Start the air pressure out low so you dont leave them real rough.
  2. No dont cut those plugs off the banshee's wiring harness that goes to the carb tops. Just leave them unpluged.
  3. PWK 33's would be a good carb to chose too. I iwouldnt wast time with those 28mm or 30mm carbs. PWK33 is a good carb.
  4. You can sand blast the steels to bring them back to life.
  5. Yep I have angled pods and dont have a problem with them hittinug. I do run a cascade heat wrap on the LH stinger tube. Like brian said it takes a little playing with spacers to get them to fit good. Look at how much pipe your trying to stuff in there. My Cpi's fit bettet with my boss intake and PWK's than what my toomey t5's did. Wich ever pipe you get and if looks are real important to you get the cpi's or shearer's from cascade. They get the pipes bare steal and have them crhome plated by there owne chromer. CPI's and Shearers have been known to have crappy chrome and peal. josh
  6. I can get some pics when I get home. on my psp. I run a boss intake and 10 deg filters. 20 deg filters were to much because the intake makes my carbs sit level. Do a search for boss intake to find some pics of mine.
  7. Ethire one would be a good pipe. I just figured cpi's since he does general duning. josh
  8. They dont fit that bad. I have more room around the carburetors than I had with my t5's. The cpi's curve out and then tuck back in. With my toomey, boss racing intake, pwk with pods had less room at the carb cap. I had to have my LH carb turnd a little so it woldnt hit on the pipe. My cpis curve out and around. I had to put 1/4 or 3/8 in spacer between the front pipe hanger and the frame. (if you have a hardware store that sells those chrome fastners that is what I used insead of a stack of washers.) You will also have to trim the front fenders if your running full fenders. I run the cascade exhaust wrap on my LH singer tube so I dont have to worry about melting any outerwears. On my motor the gain was deffinatly worth it. If you get some cpi's i dont think you would regret it. I just figured that your going to have to modd somthing to get those huge cpi's to fit. I can get some pics if you like. josh
  9. they show douglas 8x10 in the blue .125 wheels for 30 bucks. Those are the only 8x10's i could find. They dont make them in the thick aluminum. Southwestern Power Sports LINK
  10. Yep that is what I did. I ran the short ones on my t5's. The LH filter layed against the heat wrap with no problems. They dont get hot at all. Cascade Heat Wraps LINK
  11. Ditch them both and get a set of CPI's. I ran all these setups on PWK33's. I went from SST to T5's on my mx ported motor. It made a noticable gain. Then built my drag ported 4 mill and ran it on my T5's. It hauled the mail really good compaired to my mx port on T5's. Then I got a set of CPI's it was a night and day difference for the better. Your running a dune port 4mill with PWK33's. The Fatties are holding you back. On my drag ported 4 mill with CPI's I have better mid range with the cpi's than I had with the T5's.
  12. That is a good price. I just bought 2 douglass 8in rim x 10in wide for 70 shipped. I just thoght I would let you know that those wernt gp's save some head ache later.
  13. some of them are cut and have a bolt. So you cut the old oneoff. Take the bolt out and put it around the swing arm. Then you put the bolt back in. Keeps you from having to remove the swing arm.
  14. My cylinders were sand blasted in the intake box and transfers. Gives a nice rough uniform surface to help air and fuel stay mixed.
  15. Those dont look like Grand Prix wheels. GP's have a rolled lip the ones in the pic dont. Regular t9's only sell for 50 bucks.
  16. You dont have to measure, just look at the boot. On the lip of the intake you should be able to see that part number. It isnt on the base, or around the out side it is right on the lip.
  17. Boss Intake is a nice pice. It made my PJ's and 33PWK not hit the arm.
  18. Here is a link to the rubber's Pro Flo Mikuni carb boots LINK I believe the ones on the intake for 33-35mm carbs is the vm34-200-1 they have a 60mm center to center. You might check becuse it is possible that they could be the VM32-205-1 wich they have a 75mm center to center. Then you could get the VM38-200-1 for 38mm carbs and they have a center to center of 74.6mm. josh
  19. I would say your rich due to the fact that the floats are sticking and pouring gas out the over flow tubes. Rich will be reall rough, caugh and spudder Lean will feel like it is slow to respond. Feel lazy. If you rev it in say neutral it will have a hanging idle that slowly winds back down.
  20. Let them soak in Acetone it will disolve yamabond. You could probably soake the whole crank. I dont know if there is any type of plastic in that center webing. Probably should remove the rubber O rings on the crank berrings if the bearings have any. Acetone will eat rubber and plastic. I never thought of coating my crank and rods in yamabond to lower drag ::
  21. I got cpi's because they suposedly come on sooner than the shear's. They fit fine around my pod filters. There is actually more room around my carbs than I had with my T5's. Thick Boss racing intake and PWK's were a tight fit with T5's. Witch ever pipe you get CPI's or Shear's and looks are important to you then get them from cascade. They get there pipes bare and have there chrome shop plate them to there standard. Yea they charge more but the chrome is way better quality. CPI and Shear's have kind of been known to have there chrome peal. I dont know if they still do but there have been reports. josh
  22. So your a member of the "Spend way to much money vs. how much I get to ride" club too.
  23. I would imagine a beadlock would be stronge than the baja. The baja would probably be stronger than .190's. Itp aslo makes a .190 wheel with a rolled lip like the stock wheels. If you get a bead lock or baja. Get the powder coated black ones. Then polish the outer ring. Black doesnt look good all scratched up.
  24. I would go with wicked. I think they use real ball joints. I am not a fan of the heim joints. They get dirt in them then they dont last long.
