  1. Yea I am going to have to hook up a 9 volt battery. Kind of a bumer but at least all the functions will still work. josh
  2. It is a good product. You will have to hook up a 9 volt batter to power it. I have mine hooked up to the stator and at high rpms it restest. I unplug the power cord and run it off its battery and it is fine. So hook the power leads up to a 9 volt batter and all the lights will work. You can get a 9v pig tail at radio shack for a couple of bucks. There is a thread in the Mod section about it. josh
  3. 42 pilot is kind of on the small side. Most people run 45 or 48's with keihins. 150-158 mains. the there should be a small bras screw on the same side as the choak back by where the filters clamp on. that is the Air Screw. You use that to adjust the mixture at an Idle. The Idle speed adjustmet is the scew on the other side. It points upward and lifts the slides up a little. I dont know what the problem with the overheating would be other than jetting. With an Oversized radiator you should be able to let that thing idle all day. Breaking them in they will run a hair warmer due to the fact that there is more friction. (cross hatching in the cylinder making it rougher).
  4. On a banshee to run HID lights you have to totaly rewire the lighting circuit. You have to do a DC Conversion, float the ground on the stator, wire in a voltage regulator/rectifier, and add a battery or capacitor. Stock banshee's lights are AC current. HID's require DC. josh
  5. What is your jettning with those carbs. Main What Needle What Clip Position Pilot Jet Air Screw setting josh
  6. Your radiator needs to be clear full. If it isnt that is probably the reason why it is overheating. I wouldnt give up on those carbs. They are 10x better than the stockers. josh
  7. Was the low battery light on. Mine does it both when I rev it in Neutral and While riding. By banshee is drag ported so not reving it isnt an option. About the highest Rpm I have recoreded was 8000 rpm. I will call them and see what they say. I will try the new battery too. josh
  8. I would run it. About the only thing your going to risk damaging is the cylinders and they are junk any way. josh
  9. You ever get anything figured out. I just got mine put on and it is doing the same thing. It is not because of vibrations. I unbolted it from my dash held it in my hand and reved it. It cut out or rest. I unpluged the power cord so it was running on battery only reved it in my hand and it didnt cut out. Bolted to the dash and reved it it didnt cut out. So somethig with the ac power is doing it. Try unpluging the power cord and take it for a rip down the street. I bet it doesnt cut out. Mine didnt. I am going to call trail tech tomarrow and see what they say. josh
  10. Yea my 720 (4mill 660) raptor was way faster than my mx ported banshee with all the bolt ons.
  11. You try bolting the silencers up to the other bolts on the grab bar. I think most use the rear mouning bolts of the grab bar. Would the front bolts be to far forward? josh
  12. I had one on my raptor 660 and it sucked. It would etheire not release all the way or not engage all the way. I ended up selling it and buying a Pair of ASV C5 Pro Levers, and a Motion Pro Terminator clutch cable. There is hardly andy feeling with the hydro clutch. It isnt a solid feel like the breaks. It actually feels like when your breaks are spongy and you can pull the lever clear to the bars. josh
  13. Yea KTM > Polaris I remember watching this dvd I found. It was about the polaris's quads. Video was made by Polaris too. It was when the outlaw IRS came out. The whole time all they did was try drag racing over bolders and rocks, saying how great the IRS is because the chain and dirve system it tucked up underneith it. Then they took raptors, 450's and bashed them over the rocks with a stock plastic skid plate, or no skid at all and knocked chains off, and bent rotors, and braged about how much better the IRS is. I had to smash the cd because it was garbage.
  14. Take a pice to a lawnmower repair shop. Get some Tygon fuel line. It is bright yellow but it doesnt get hard and brittle. Stays soft and flexable. Good Stuff.
  15. Stock Cylinders Drag Ported 4 mill with stock swinger. I am sure I look like a goofy guy running stock cylinders with cpi's. That is part of the fun. I just drag for fun and dont have a huge swinger so all the 450's come to me to want to race.
  16. I have a trail tech vapor. It has engine temp, air temp, Temp waring light (orange) Overheat light (Red) The two lights are programable. RPM. RPM Shift light, (orange flashing light) Over Rev light (Red Flashing) lights are programable Speedo, Average Speed, Max Speed. Total Acumulated Ride time (hr meter) Ride time, Odometer, Trip odometer time It runs right off the stator with battery backup. I havent gotten to try it out yet because my banshee is down with out a stator. It should work sweet though. I did also buy the billit aluminum bar clamp protector. This is my last resort. I have tried all types of temp gauges. The Mechanical ones all fail because the vibration tears them up. I had an electric one. The voltage regulator came un pluged and smoked the gaugs. I was going to try an autometer mechanical liquid filled gauge but it was going to be to big and gody looking. I have a trail tech endurance on my raptor and it is still going strong 4 years later. The trail tech Lynix has an engine temp but no RPM. The Vapor cost a little more but it is worth it for the features you get. josh
  17. Put the T on normal. Then dont have a bunch of extra fuel line going from the T to the carbs. That way the fuel line cant flop over and get melted. I like my Pingnel.
  18. Where in Nebraska are you finding these monster hills?
  19. You can get it from RM ATV http://www.rockymountainatv.com/typeDetail...amp;webCatId=23
  20. yea it might make it harder to start. Since your running a stock head and premium set the plate at 6 deg. Increasing the timing helps boost midrange.
  21. Yea the plate at -5 might not be the best. What kind of fuel and compression are you running. Most people run +4 on premium fuel at 150 PSI compression. If your running Race fuel at 180 PSI compression then most people run +6-+8. As for the oil Klotz Supertechniplate is a great oil and it smells good. I would try Klotz Supertechniplate at 32:1 first. That way you wont have to mess with the carburetors. If you lean out the oil you increase the fuel so you might have to change the jetting. josh
  22. Or get a pan of boiling water and heat the rubber flange up in it and try to get them on. That will reshape them. josh
  23. I would say you have a jetting issue. You should be albe to spin the tires.
  24. Or so you wouldnt have to scrape any at all. Just title it as there frame.
