  1. It cost more to have a crank rebuilt with new berrings than it does to do a top end with new pistons. Rebuilt crank and a new hotrods crank are about the same price. josh
  2. I thought Polishing the steel was supose to be part of the plating process. I havent seen a pair of chrome shearer's or CPI's that came from shearer or cpi. I have herd stories of chrome bubling and peeling though. That was enough for me to go to cascade to get my cpi's. They get them bare and have some one plate them in Oregon. I dont know where cpi gets theirs chromed at. It just seems when you see pipes for sale they are described as "Show Chrome" but there is a litte peeling or bubling. Granted they usually are used but a REAL show chrome shouldnt peel that is just a poor or cheap plating job. So now unfortunatly it is hard to tell what is actually show chrome and what is not. If i bought a pair of new pipes that were supose to be show chrome and they bubled and peeled I would be pissed. Cascade has built them self a good reputation in polishing and chrome work. If you want the real deal I figure you have to go with who you know. josh
  3. Who does the chrome work? Same company that shearer sends them too? josh
  4. Barrow PA Matt's or Blessedwithdeaths CPI's. That will give you an Idea of what it will be like and what you will be giving up in bottom end.
  5. It is not the Exact same oil because Supertechniplate will belnd with Methanol and R50 wont. It just floats on top like oil and water. The synthetic oil in Super Techniplate is KL-200 Original Techniplate. 100% Synthetic and blends with menthanol as well. 6. I had one on my raptor and it sucked. It would ethire not let the clutch out all the way or it wouldnt release all the way. I ended up selling it and buing a good quality lever. I recomend an ASV C5 Pro Perch and Lever. josh
  7. Plus it will hold an extra set of spark plugs for you. josh
  8. I run ethire Bel Ray Gear Saver 80w or Silkolene Comp Gear I have noticed that the Comp Gear stays cleaner than the Bel Ray. It is pretty easy to see to since I have a lockup. Both oils are great oils and cant go wrong.
  9. A +4 deg key is weaker than a stock key.
  10. Even Quakerstate or Penzoil? Well he is kind of going against his own word with that statement. Here is why. The reason why Klotz Supertechniplate can dirty up an engine is because it is 80% Synthetic and 20% Benol Caster Oil. Caster Oil is one of the best lubercating and protecting 2 stroke oils out there. The down side to it is that it is also the dirtiest burning oil too. What kind of oil do you think is in Maxima Caster 927? The same dirty buring caster oil that is in the Supertechniplate. 927 is also a blend of Caster oil and Synthetic oil. I dont see how 927 is a cut above klotz supertechniplate when they both contain caster oil. Running Supertechniplate wont damage your engine. I have never had stuck piston rings, or excess carbon on the tops of my pistons. If it is absolutly is going to freak you out run Klotz R50 100% synthetic. I have ran Klotz Benol wich is 100% caster oil with no problems. I sure as heck wouldnt loose any sleep over 80% synthetic 20% benol caster oil. josh
  11. good luck. What are you going to end up running for gearing and tires? josh
  12. You should get a ez drain cover. That way you can drain the coolant with out taking any hoses off. josh
  13. You should be fine. I ran 150 PSI at +4 on 89-90 octane fuel. Mx ported engine.
  14. Or you can get a flush mount valve setem kit and not have to drill new holes at all. Flush Mount Valve Stems LINK
  15. In theory they shouldnt break. All the key is supose to do is locate the flywheel when you install it. The taper of the crank and the taper of the flywheel is what is supose to keep the flywheel from spinning on the crank. That is why when you put on a different flywheel or different crank you should lap the two of them together with valve grinding compound. josh
  16. Yep and the longer those Idiots in Washington take to fix it the longer it is going to take to pull it out of the gutter. Maybe we need another 600 bucks.
  17. That is too bad. Who layed you off? What did you do?
  18. Yep that is Cascade Chrome. Show Chrome has lost its meaning. Too many Show Chrome CPI's and Shearer's with peeling "Show Chrome" josh
  19. Stock swing arm 14/41 20X10X10 9 paddle extreems. Modds in my sig. No override. You might try all stock spings maybe it will help keep the R's up on the launch especialy with that tall gearing.
  20. I run 6 stock clutch springs, with the stock direct drive weights and havent had a problem. I like how the 6 oem springs let it slip out of the hole.
  21. the kill switch should hook up to 2 wires. There should be a black with white strip, and a black wire. The black wire is just a ground wire. When you ground the BW wire that is what kills the engine. They should just be 2 bullit conectors for the kill switch. THe light switch is an actual plastic plug conector.
  22. RK Chains are pretty goodl GB520EWB
  23. I just use a matchbook cover or business card. Make sure to check both nodes and set it on the tighter one.
  24. Fill it full of water and freeze it. That is the only way I can thing of. Maybe try and exhaust pipe expander. josh
  25. It uses the stock dust cover so it will still be sealed up. TM's products are top notch.
