  1. I look at it this way. V Force reeds have 2x as many pedals than other reed's. There for they are opeaining 1/2 as far for the same amount of flow as the standard 2 pedal banshee cage. So the reed is spending less time ethire opean or closed witch makes for better throttle responce and less blow back. josh
  2. I started out with mine on a 9v because I was having problems with it reseting. When I would hit high RPM it would blink out. I thought it was from running it off the stator so I hooked it up with the 9v. It did the same thing with the 9v so I put a Resistor Plug in. The problem went away. I had my banshee tore appart the other day so I went a head and hooked it back up to the stator. I havent had a problem yet. I think mine was just electrical interfearance. With B8ES plugsI was getting a tach reading with out even having the tach wire hooked up that is how much interfearence I was getting. I do have a nology coil and hot wires so maybe that was part of it. josh Here is a link to another vapor discussion. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...mp;#entry908169
  3. I now have mine hooked up to the stator with resistor plugs and havent had it reset yet. Good to go
  4. I would say run it. I never had to switch when I went from fmf sst's to t5's on my mx ported motor. josh
  5. What will this do to the chrome? I think you can get that stuff at any home improvemnt shop too. I belive that is what we used to etch the concrete floor before we painted it. josh
  6. The white paint will probably never stick. You really have to do it when they are new. There isnt anything that will really disolve carbon. You might try looking for a wire brush that is on a long wire handle. I belive they are used to clean boiler tubes. josh
  7. Doesnt AV gasoline have 2 octane ratings. A lean and rich rating? Lean being a rating like the plane was taking off and rich rating like it is up in the air.
  8. I got one. It works great. It is nice to know the engine temp and all the other neat stuff. I would recomend getting the billit clamp / dashboard so it mounts up nice. Make sure your running resitor plugs too. Other wise it will reset. BR8ES are the ones you want. josh
  9. You pay for the name with VP. I usually run Sunoco 110 or Citgo 110 with +7 timing and 175 psi of compression. I have ran it 50/50 before when I didnt have enough for the whole riding trip. You could run VP red straigt with no problems. It is supose to be one of VP's cheaper fuels. josh
  10. i would probably buy 158-148 mains and 45 an 48 pilots carbs come with cgl's i would get a set of cel's like you mentioned
  11. Call CPI up and talk to them. I am sure they would exchange them for a set that has the Letters stamped on the outside. Dont get discuraged it will be worth it in the long run, just give them a shot. josh
  12. That is what I tell everybody. If you buy CPI pipes from anybody other than cascade your taking a gamble on the chrome. I have herd storries of BOTH CPI and Shearer's chrome peeling. Cascade's chrome and polishing service is top notch. There is a reason why cascade is selling them for $675 insetead of $500. I belive CPI's are now being stamed on the Inside so you have a nice smooth looking pipe on the side. http://67.199.65.66/cascade_innovations/ne...ore_dept_id=101 Mine didnt come with Hardware ethire. You will probably need to get some spacers for the front hangers. I had to space mine out so the chambers wouldnt hit on the cylinder head. I think it is a 3/8 in spacer. You can kind of see it here behind the front hanger.
  13. I would say 10mill cub with stock pipes. That way you dont loose the low end torque that the stock pipes make and you will still have the peak hp of the Cub.
  14. You are right I dont have a cub. I have listened to creditable people that have and DO run cub cylinders. I have never herd them recomend T5's or any other general pipe on a cub. I ran my 66mm 4mill drag ported cylinders on t5's. The T5's sucked compaired to the CPI's.
  15. That is the same thing a Cub cylinder does. You really going to tell me a Drag Ported Cylinder doesnt sacrafice bottom end? The only thing your T5's are doing on your Cub cylinder is stuffing it up on the top end wich makes the power band hit less harsh. They are not giving you bottom end they are taking away top end. Cub Cylinder = Drag Ported Cylinder Out of the Box = Drag Pipe
  16. I dont know how many posts I have seen on here where some one was using a torque wrench and twisted off a bolt.
  17. There is other options than getting them from CPI
  18. If CPI's and Shearer's dont work well for the type of riding your doing then you clearly have the wrong cylinder sitting on top of your cases.
  19. For jetting try this. CEK Needle Middle Clip 55 Pilot 158-160 Main That shoudl get you started. If your going to order a seleciton of mains and pilots get the following 160, 158, 155, 152, 150 For Pilots get 52, 50, 48 You will also need a carb sync tool to set the idle up correctly. To adjust the Idle speed you turn the coak nob.
  20. In theory the snowmobile doenst do any damage to the ground because it runs on snow.
  21. I reuse o rings and I wouldnt re use a head gasket. The head gasket seals by being compressed. It wont come back to its original thickness when you take the head off. O rings will. josh
  22. What is the difference between buying an O ring kit and Buying a head gasket?
  23. Sell it and get a Kawasaki V Foce 700 if he isnt in to shifting. Much less head ach.
  24. Silkolene Comp Gear oil. It stays cleaner longer.
  25. Here you go. 8 bucks for the rod and a dollar for the ball. http://67.199.65.66/cascade_innovations/ne...ORE_DEPT_ID=358 When you get tired of replacing the ball and rod buy cascades pancake berring. It replaces the stock adjuster in the pressure plate. It has a flat roller bearing so you dont weld the ball and rod. I believe jeff at fast also sell them. Just make sure you get the cascade style because it has notches on the out side so you can hold the adjuster while adjusting it. Other modles have the notches behind the pressure plate. So you have to assemble the clutch and adjust it. Then take it appart so you can hold the adjuster while you tighten it down.
