I run a pair of stock cylinders that have been ported and resleeved. Here is how I looked at it.
I got the cylinders for dirt cheap, they needed resleeved. A new port job was the same price as having my cylinders resleeved (sleeves and labor) by the same guy that ported them.
So for the same price you can end up with two options
#1 Ported Stockcylinders with oem sleeves that have 64-66.5 bore
#2 Ported Stock cylinders that have been resleeved and have a bore of 66mm to 68mm
I know people say that big bore sleeves suck because the choak the transfer ports. Well you have to understand that there are quite a few different sized sleeves. Mine are not much bigger than stock. I can see there point on a sleeve that goes half way into the cylinder stud hole.
It is NOT economical to have a set of cyinders both ported and resleeved, but if you can get a pair of cyinders that are already ported for dirt cheap then it is a different story.
