  1. Yea like the other guys said that is just a head spacer. With a 4 mill you need to some how fix the clearance issue. The 4 mill will allow the piston to fall 2mm farther down in to the cylinder, and it will come up out of the cylinder 2 mm. So you need to run a 2mm spacer plate under the cylinders, or run a 2mm spacer plate inbetween the cylinders and head, or run no spacer plate and cut stroker domes for a cool head. Your head spacer will do the same thing as running cut stroker domes.
  2. It sets the tension of the reed. with it on high it clamps down on the reed closer to the end so the reed is stiffer to opean. You want them on high. Your reed petals wont last on low, they will have a much shorter life on low. josh
  3. I would take it off the bottom of the ports since the piston will fall 2mm farther down in to the bore (running a cut head). If you run the plate it will fall-4mm down the bore and be at the stock deck hight at TDC If your just wanting to mess aound and not worried about messing up a pair of jugs then do it your self. Widen the exhaust port a little. the more you take off the top of the exhaust port the higher the rpm the power is built.
  4. Yea talk to Snoop about the jetting. I belive it rocks the TM's too. I am sure he has a pretty good starting point just like the guys that run PWK's do.
  5. Home ported 4 mill jugs? I would be looking for another pair of jugs and get them ported with the style of port job that matchs how you ride. Then you can just swap the top end with no down time waiting for your only pair of jugs to return from the builder. There is a lot of power to be found by a good port job. There is a lot of power to be lost too by some one that doenst know what they are doing. Is there a spacer plate between the cylinders and top case or a thick 2mm head gasket? Or are you running a cool head with cut stroker domes? josh
  6. Did you have a locking tab washer between the nut and sprocket?
  7. I would say it looks like a Mikuni Tm carb. http://www.motorcyclecarbs.com/Mikuni_Carb...nd_Parts_C8.cfm
  8. There isnt anything that will directly fit. You can always hack something to gether. Here is where you can buy each part that you will need. Silencers are 79 bucks each. http://www.powerbrokerz.com/index.php
  9. A hone. You can pick one up at any parts store. It should come with the right stones. I put some big orings on the bottom of the cylinder so the stones dont catch the edge of the sleeve down at the bottom of the bore. I am sure some big zip ties would work as well. josh
  10. There is a kit that you can buy that will convert your J arm frame to an A arm frame. I dont know if it is still being made or not. josh
  11. I tried the 20 deg angled ones first. They had to much angle and rubbed on the frame under them. The 10 deg's fit perfict. That is with a boss racing intake. I am sure different intakes have different angles and thus require a different angled filter.
  12. I have a pair of fast dune ported 4 mill jugs on my banshee right now. They run pretty hard. A any body that names there port jobs Sage 1, through Stage 1,000,000 will not be getting my bussiness. A port job is supose to be custom to your riding sytle not a cookie cutter. The better the shop, the better the reputation, the longer the wait. Kev is kind of different though. He wont take your jugs if he cant have them back to you in 2 weeks or so. He is a nother good guy to deal with. josh
  13. I would aslo buy a desent angle finder for setting the caster (tilting of the top ball joint forward or back). If you dont set the caster up right it will steer really easy just a little ways from the forward position but hard from all the way one way back to the easy spot down the middle. Or vise versa if you have it to far forward. I ditched a pair of ASR's on my raptor because I was tired of messing with the caster, and the Heims creeked and poped after a couple rides. I went with a non adjustable caster set of HD USA A arms that use ball joints instead of the Heim joints. josh
  14. Get a pair of short cascade heat wraps. I run one just on the LH stinger tube on my CPI's. They dont even get warm. www.cascadeinnovations.net
  15. Yea that isnt going to be good. You ever see any track and field guys breath through a straw with there nose's pluged? Same affect.
  16. I would think so if you used standard domes. Most of the time they dont remill the domes, they start out fresh with new blanks. josh
  17. When I had FMF SST's I went from Power core 2's to turbine core 2's and couldnt tell a difference in sound. I needed to have a spark arrested silencer so that is why I made the switch to the turbine core's josh
  18. Yea I guess there are mutliple types of sleeves out there. I can see those really big sleeves that look like they go half way through the cylinder head studs could do that. Like the big 72mm sleeves. Mine are just 66mm to 68mm.
  19. I wouldnt say v force reeds make more power. They might a little. The big difference should be throttle responce. They have 2x as many reed petals opeaining half as far. So it takes less time for the reeds to opean and close. josh
  20. What about if you cut every other knob in a row off. Then stager them from row to row. That way you have the lugs spaced out farter appart. josh.
  21. Yea where your cylinders are not ported then it would just be better to start over with a different pair of cylinders. Look for some low bore cylinders. A port job makes a night and day difference. So does the 4 mill crank. If your even thinking about building a 4 mill you should go a head and do it. The port job for the 4 mill will be the same price. Once you port the cylinders for a stock stroke crank you usually cannot have them reported for a 4mill. josh
  22. If your wanting a paddle tire just for mud bogging the Skat Trak desert storm is made to help stand up against riding on hard pack. There paddles are only .5 in tall vs a regular hauler having 7/8 in tall paddle. I guess you cant go to tall or the dry area will rip paddles off. You can get them from rocky mountain.
  23. Just make sure you run BR8ES plugs instead of the non resistor B8ES. I was having problems with my vapor blinking out and restarting. It was the B8ES plugs. There was to much interfierance. I was even getting a tach reading with out the tach hooked up.
  24. You should only have the circ clip and cover on one side. Then you put the nut on and the circ clip on the axle. No cover. The nut should have a machined lip that covers the clip. Make sure you get the right clips on the right side. One clip is slightly larger than the other. The clips shoudlnt be able to pop off since they are coverd and not allowd to expand and pop over the grove. I run on on my raptor and havent had any problems. josh
