  1. Regular engine oil use to be used in 2 stroke gasoline before dedicated 2 cycle pre mix oils were developed.
  2. Yea when a tire blows on a nascar and the car goes in to the wall GoodYear doesnt cover the tab. They probably dont even get a free tire.
  3. Pull the radiaotor cap off while its running and see if you get a bunch of air bubles. There should be non unless your getting them from the compression leaking out.
  4. No because there is no thermostat for the water pump to build pressure against. It is a constant cycling flow. Coolant was probalby brown and crusty from burnt premix oil making its way in to the system along with the compression.
  5. I use 2 toggle switchs for the headlights mounted to a piece of aluminum under the seat. It bolts down on top of the fuel tank mounting bolts. I did get ones with a rubber cover to keep water out. Then just use a CR honda style kill switch on the handle bars. It will plug right in to the factory wireing harness.
  6. I got rid of UPP racing boots for a boss intake. The carbs sit at a better angle and the carb drain bolt doesn't rub on the clutch arm. I would just yamabod the two halfs together.
  7. Probably didn't have any packing in the silencers which costs power.
  8. Boss one piece intake, and 10 deg angled pods. CPI pipes with a Cascade heat wrap on the LH side. I have plenty of room on the RH side.
  9. I run a set of the TM ones on my banshee with CPI pipes. They are a well made hanger.
  10. I run Piaa H6M bulbs in my stock headlights.
  11. I was just stating the atf in manual car transmissions to debunk the myth that it isn't heavy enough for gear lubercation. Molybdenum Disulfied is one of the ingredients in energy conserving oil that causes wet clutchs to slip. It is a metallic lubercant that loads up clutch fibers. Once it's in there you really can't flush it out.
  12. UPP makes adaptor hoses to go between the carb and air box.
  13. Temp sensor in the radiator is probably the electric fan switch.
  14. I would get some T.M. DesignWorks. They are graphite impregnated plastic bushing, that require no lubercation. Just make sure you antisieze the bolts do they dont rust to the steel tubes.
  15. Yea but just about every light duity car / pickup manual transmission made since the 80's specify a ATF oil. The reason you need a wet clutch oil is to keep the clutch fibers from being loaded up with solid lubercants that cause clutch slip. Engine oils that are labled energy conserving contain Molybedium Disulfied. It is a metalic lubercant that will get imbeded in to clutch fibers and cause slippage. You cant remove it by doing a flush once its in there is in there for good.
  16. Now you can see how bad everybody has been getting F'ed on those cheap radiators, with free silicone hoses. HAHAHAHA.
  17. I would drop a 4 mill crank in and port the cylinders. Then if you feel you need to change the FMF pipes do it later. A 4 mill crank will gain you mid range torque, or you can give that extra mid range away in exchange for more topend with a more aggressive port job and still have as good of a mid range as you would have had with a stock stroke crank.
  18. I just run Piaa H6M bulbs in my stock lights.
  19. I wouldn't worry about it to much. They were the Junk regular ones not the Pro Perch that has the quick adjustment.
  20. If it was a fresh top end he probably didn't measure the bore to see if it was out of spec. If the bore is to big the piston slams back and fourth from cylinder wall to cylinder wall as the crank rotates. Just because they are new doesn't mean its right. I would have the cylinders checked out or your probably going to be tearing it apart again.
  21. Probably not because you wont need as much fuel for E85 so the dump tubes are probably going to be drilled to large. Also E85 is not real consistan on the blend. One tank might be 70% ethanol 30% gasoline, and the next one might be 85% ethanol 15% gasoline. The swing in blends will require a jetting change where straight methanol is going to be 100% methanol every time.
  22. Yep that's what I am talking about. I don't think they list one for a banshee but one from another Yamaha might work.
